No offense, but I honestly hated today's new episode. It seemed like a really cheap ripoff of a lot of other things mish-mashed into a really bad MLP spoof. But then, you have to know that I've never been fond of the whole "mystery" set-up to begin with, so don't take this like I suddenly hate the show because of this one episode I considered bad.

I don't hate the series either, I've just never been wowed by an episode this season, where as in Season 1, I was wowed by 2 episodes (Sonic Rainboom and Best Night Ever).

Well, there's that, and how I've never been a big fan of any episodes centered around Pinkie Pie or her shinanagans (sp?).

I'm not sure why I haven't been wowed by any Season 2 episodes, I guess pretty much all the episodes milked something about the characters (Rainbow Dash's spotlight-stealing, Fluttershy's meekness and shyness, Twilight's OCD, Pinkie's shenanigans, Rarity's "drama queen" scenes, and AJ's stubbornness).

My main problem was that Rainbow, Fluttershy and Rarity just like... totally betray Pinkie and the Cakes, and that's treated as OK, there's no repercussion. I get that it was supposed to be treated as a more kooky, silly episode but it still felt off to me. Pinkie is my favourite but her episodes can be very hit and miss, and I can't help but think that some of the more interesting elements of her personality (Party of One!!!!) are being neglected in season 2. I'd never use "hate" at all, but it wasn't a memorable episode to me.

Did anyone else find it weird that Celestia appeared for a while but didn't say anything?

I had high hopes for this episode since I'm a big fan of the "mystery" genre. But I was somewhat disappointed. For one, no punishments for any of the culprits was mind-numbing, and the fact that Rarity, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash were the culprits just seemed so random. Throughout the episode I was anticipating Pinkie Pie, the other contestants, or even Twilight Sparkle to be the culprits. And did Applejack have any lines? Her presence seemed unnecessary to the point I expected something from her in the end. And that didn't happen. Oh well.

It seems several episodes have been great this season, but in a mixed order. The first few episodes of the season were fantastic, specifically Lesson Zero, only for several not-so-great episodes to follow. The rest of the season following The Mysterious Mare Do Well was hit or miss.

This episode exceeded my expectations. Given my expectations were fairly low, I still enjoyed the episode none the less. It's just more proof that Applejack is the best pony; good job not eating that cake buck-o. I didn't see the ending coming which is weird because MLP episode endings are very straight forward. I thought that Pinkie Pie ate the cake. I really enjoyed seeing Pinkie try to piece the crime scene together. Golden Harvest and Berry Punch were great (11: something in).

Wow Princess Celestia you really love cake. I really liked this episode. I'm more of a mystery fan, so this episode appealed to me. lol Mr. Cake fainting. Fluttershy eating the cake, totally not what I expected. Rainbow of course would eat the cake. And Rarity's new style, in love with it!

I liked this episode. it wasn't the best episode ever but it was funny and amusing, and that's all I want and expect from most episodes.

I'm surprised (but glad) this video was even made. I thought the case had been closed after amy keating rodgers wrote that open letter to the fandom

I'm anticipating the "Royal Wedding" two-parter than. I haven't been wowed by any Season 2 episode at all, but I have high hopes for these two episodes.

no episode in the series has "wowed" me at all, although there have been moments that have (Rainbow of Light, the rainboom, Celestia returning Twilight's letters). but the series is still my favorite ever, mostly because there's only one single episode ("Feeling Pinkie Keen") that I would give a negative review for. it's very consistent, is what I'm saying. every episodes has at least a few moments that crack me up or have me thinking "this is really neat", and that's what I want from a lighthearted, slice-of-life series.

I have too many favorite episodes. To give a list would go on forever!

Oh and for Easter I got a MLP FIM DVD. It has the first two episodes of season 1, Over a Barrel, Hearths Warming Eve, and the Last Round Up. Which when Derpy came along, they still had her from the original airing, so no change in voice or eyes.

The only episode that I "liked" from any Season 2 episode was "May the Best Pet Win", because of the song.

RD singing is what won the song over for me.

why won't they show us vinyl's eyes? damn you/I love you for her including her hasbro

also, I know it's not shown in the clip, but one of the 'flashcards' from a few days ago showed a scene from the wedding party with vinyl/DJ-PON3 AND Princess Luna it it.

this suggests that Luna will be at the party, just because vinyl has shown up now

EDIT: never mind whatever was wrong has been fixed now
