Media My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

Season 3's been confirmed for 13 episodes (although as EqD notes Meghan McCarthy is still working on it, meaning that there's still more material after S3). how do you guys feel about that?

That's a pretty big let down... Maybe they'll release new seasons twice a year, but just have each of the seasons consist of 13 episodes, that way the episode droughts are shorter. Either way, they are still putting out a lot of episodes, and we should appreciate their hard work.

That's exactly what they should do IMO.

This sounds like an okay idea. Have one season in the spring, then then second part in the fall.

A pony movie would be pretty cool. If it were put in theaters I'm sure it would do very well. The makers of the show would also have more time to develop a more "sophisticated" and in-depth plot. If they do a sort of over come a villain plot again, they'd be able to find a better way for the mane cast to defeat the villain. Both Discord's and Chrysalis's defeats could have been a lot better, they seemed cut short. It'd be really interesting to see what the writers could do with more than 20 - 50 minutes of screen time.

Also, I made another binder

I don't think length has anything to do with it, the problem is they're appealing to two different audiences, us and little girls. And since I doubt they're going to advocate violence, they have to get pretty creative on how to defeat the villains. I don't think little girls would respond well to a more serious plot than anything we've gotten so far.

News: SherclopPones, creator of Friendship is Witchcraft, is doing a live stream right now for the next 6 to 8 hours! If you like ponies and random shenanigans, come on in! (Also if this constitutes as advertising, then I am sorry...)

This is the issue facing a possible MLP: FiM movie. It's going to be hard to make it a family movie, for parents to take their daughters to see it, and also try to appease the massive brony fanbase.

I think it's best they don't make a movie, because they can easily appease only one side, and anger the other.

I don't think this is true at all. Daniel Ingram has said that they don't specifically pander to us - the show's target demographic is still little girls, and that's the demographic they focus on when making the show. Keep in mind that season one was already done before bronies got to it, and there were no brony-specific references (Derpy's scripted status, for example) until season two.

We liked the show before they knew who we were, and while we appreciate the nods to us they include, it's not what makes Friendship is Magic a great show.

Plus, making a full-length movie completely removes the 20-minute restriction placed on each episode, so any worries about them rushing through beating a villain are completely gone. I have no doubt they could easily put out a quality product that would be appealing to small girls and bronies alike.

Yes, my point exactly. We're not the target audience here, we're just along for the ride.

I just watched this show for the first time finally! It blew my mind! Rainbow Dash is so awesome ^_^!
I could just keep on watching it forever!
