New Ban Policy - PokeBeach Forum Jail

how to get banned:
revive every thread in the card of the day

why would you want this? Other than to say you have been in the jail. If you want to lurk and not be able to post, just click that handy log out button.

Although if you are banned you can't do that now I don't think XD.:)

Actually, I do have a major qualm.

Apparently it has now become sport to edit the email addresses and passwords of banned members, as evidenced by what has happened to Kevin Garrett (You know, the guy who put more effort into the forums than any other mod I can think of, and who didn't break any rules to be banned. And no, don't give me the "You don't know the full story!" excuse, I know exactly what happened and I still back KG). I have heard of this happening to other members too in the past so it is not an isolated incident, although it hasn't officially been a problem until now*.

Now, putting aside the fact that this is obviously disrespectful and unprofessional, it also means that members are not able to make their case if they are not capable of logging into their own accounts. If mods can turn on mods like this, I really do not like the implications this has for how mods can act towards regular members. I therefore hope that the moderation team has the decency to at least act mature and not screw about with account details.

* I'd like to point out here that although I am certain this has happened, I can't name names as the incidences I'm aware of occurred too long ago for me to remember in full detail. But if you do know that this has happened to someone you know, now's a really good time to bring it up with the moderation team.

I think that this has potential to be a very good system.

As said before, this could have problems with rippers in the trading corner. I think that they should add in the rules that rippers can not get a trial, so nobody can get ripped off by them again.

And lawyers could work. The defendant could always lie about nearly everything, so I think that we'd need lawyers to find the facts and prove their defendant correct, or tell the judge the facts, rather than putting up with the defendant's lying, letting them get a free pass back into PB.

...or something like that.

Especially when most of the mods here are under 18 years of age. Honestly thage of a mod factors into this as well. You should think about these questions before making a new mod in the future:

1 Can the moderator be responsible enough to handle the situation of the new system?
&
2. Can the mod be respectful when discussing the case with the banned member? Those under 18 should have certain guidelines to follow as they handle the case with the banned member. If it is the wrong mod they may never be unbanned. I think only Super Moderators should be in charge of the Jail. That's my opinion anyway.:)

Yeah, that's a good idea that only super mods have a say. A lot of the regular moderators are inexperienced/12 years old/don't do anything, whereas the super mods are for the most part really in the loop as to what goes on and have a lot of experience dealing with forum issues and banning people.

Yeah see we are on the same page. As far as the Jail goes only Smods will ber able to handle it. If it was a green mod that did the banning then they would have to contact one of them to explain the situation on why the ban was made. If it were this way it would be a whole lot easier.:)

Bring Back sonicmoj!
This a an interesting system, to say at the least. As of now, I'm udecided if this was a good idea or not. Only time will tell.

We do not disclose details about bans. They are private matters between staff and member.

JOEYPALS!!

Is that why he blabbed about it last month on the PO server?
I hope the mods are smart enough to know that Joeypals hasn't changed and if he's trying to convince them, he's only playing with their emotions to try to fool them. Hes not sorry for being himself, he's an actor.

I don't know but last month he mentioned that he was planning on coming back via a forums jail. Funny enough, he wasn't lying about that.
