BW/BW2 Official Black and White Discussion Thread

Pokemon 99: you can't catch a pokemon if it's in the double battle anyway. I've tried. It won't let you. You have to only be facing one pokemon to catch it.

Yeah. You find which one the shiny is, then KILL the other one, and then proceed to throw the pre-selected pokeball.

Simple really. Just wanted to know if it would work.

@pokemon99: Farming BP. As in, trying to get the most amount of BP in the shortest amount of time. For example, the best way to farm for experience is to train on level 47-50 Audino (Lucky Egg equipped) right outside Black City/White Forest.

Caught Terrakion a bit ago. Used a Quick Ball, 3-4 Ultra Balls, and 3 Great Balls with no luck. I then chucked a Poke Ball out of pure vexation and ended up catching him with that. *shakes head*

^ happened with me while catching Groudon in Ruby once.

Almost beat Black. I'm planning on using it to train pokemon and stuff from my White, and having my White, which I beat a while ago, be the "good game" since I got it first and I already had some good ones on there. I'm currently making a new team before I beat the elite four again on White, and on the 7th gym leader in Black.

Ended up beating the Elite Four. I was probably wayyy under-leveled and I actually feel kinda bad for relying on Haxorus so much.

Caitlin gave me the most trouble (I knew she would) as I didn't have anything to Combat her Psychic Pokemon.

Started with Grimsley, then moved to Marshal, Shauntal, then Caitlin.

I was planning on just grinding there til I got to where I wanted to be, but when I got to Caitlin, I figured I'd go for it.

I ended up beating em with:

Zebstrika 43
Gigalith 44
Unfezant 46
Conkeldurr 47
Samurott 47
Haxorus 53

This was AFTER beating the E4. At the beginning, they were all at least one level lower. Haxorus probably gained 3 or 4 levels.

Gigalith was a wasted Pokemon because I used him maybe once, so I may swap him out for someone else, now that I'm in N's Tower. What to do, what to do...

I'm at the Elite Four, and I'm underleveled. My team is very balanced, but not in a good way. I have NO electric types and NO water types. I'm too lazy to get out my DS right now, so I won't post levels.

Serperior
Throh (Best underestimated fighting type ever!)
Litwick (Ugh! It's just so weak, but it's close to evolving and I have a good moveset planned out.)
Zoroark
Rufflet
Deino (Going to replace with a Fraxure as soon as I get one.)

I'm thinking about replacing Zoroark with a Zebstrika. Should I? Also, the reason I'm getting rid of Deino is because I already have a dark type and I have a great moveset for a Haxorus (Swords Dance, Dragon Claw, Surf, Dig). What should I do?

I'm currently looking at fishing with the super rod. I caught a level 66 dragonair around dragonspiral tower so I've got a nice DDnite set running there. Also found a skill link cloyster so I'm levelling it up and working on a nice in-game moveset (probably shell smash icicle spear rock blast surf). My other team members are Excadrill (lv 70) Azelf (lv 74) and Volcanora (lv 76). Currently searching for a final team member and training up for the e4 rematch. Got some cool pokemon on my PC I could train up, all between levels 50 and 70. Sawk, throh, tyranitar, metagross, samurott, altaria and ferrothorn are possibilities.

How did you get Zoroark?Don't you have to Poketransfer the Shiny Beasts first?

Yeah. I did earlier in the game with the Transfer Machine. I caught the Zoroark early on and made it on my team.

You'll be able to rip through Grimsley with your Throh, and Caitlin and Shauntal with Zoroark. You'll prolly have the most trouble with Marshal, so I hope your Rufflet know some Fighting moves. If so, you should be ok.

Zebstrika would be kinda helpful against Shauntal's Jellicent or Caitlin's Sigilyph, should your Zoroark go down. But I wouldn't REPLACE Zoroark with Zebstrika just because Zoroark's effective against 2 of the E4.

Could say more, but hopefully I gave you some info you can use. :) Just my 2 cents.

Zoroark is downright amazing and Zebstrika is decidedly subpar. Since he's Dark-type, you have already taken care of half the Elite Four. Any Fighting-type can rip up Grimsley, and Marshal is your only trouble. His weakness is Flying and Psychic, so if you have White version, Reuniclus and Braviary are definitely possibilities. Oh look, you have one. If your team is in the mid-50s or so (and when you actually get a Braviary, you should be) then you'll be fine.
