Above average for Basics, but for a lot of decks...it's a OHKO left and right. Most G pokemon suck (except for Toxicroak, Dialga, Palkia, and Houndoom, the rest can't stand alone), and most are techs for the good G pokemon. Once again, they may be fast, but they have major weakneses.

And...this saddens me. I entered the TCG to play for fun. I don't really care about doing truly good (though I usually end up doing good anyway), I care about actually enjoying the game. If you would rather do something you don't enjoy just to look/do good, then I feel really sorry for you. You're missing out on a lot of fun.

I play to win, and guess what? I have loads of fun!

So much fun comes out of achieving your goals, doing really well, beating players you previously thought you couldn't, getting yourself out of tricky situations and winning games you thought you couldn't etc. I couldn't rock up at a tourney and say, "hey, I don't care what happens - I'm here to have fun!", because the truth is that I wouldn't have fun. Humans are competitive creatures, and I'm one of them, and get a lot out of striving to do the best I can for competition.

I'm a human and I'm not competitive...at all. And if you enjoy that, well, that's you. I enjoy just playing the game and knowing that I can do well, but not necessarily the best unless I truly want that.

And...am I sensing a pattern? You seem to disagree with most things I say...
 
Umm that's great that you play for "fun" Fallen One but I think a lot of us don't have fun when we go 2-3. "Cheap" decks can be quite fun actually and these so called "cheap" decks may just be the best option for some people's play-style. To put it down because it's "cheap" and to act in this sort of holier than though manner seems a little silly to me. I don't see the people who play these decks bashing the decks you play so maybe you should consider why someone would play these decks. I know some people (like me) will be driving 10+ hours to get to states so I would understand why someone would use a deck that gets them the best results when they are driving that far. Just my two cents.
 
No offense to anyone who actually does enjoy winning everything, but...from what I see in my area, I would think that it would be boring.

In my area, there's a group of people who regularly dominate tournaments. So long ast they choose the right deck, they only have to worry about each other. And, I think about their situation. Rarely do they have long, drawn out matches. This only happens when they face each other. When I play, I have plenty long matches. They just seem to be a lot more fun. For them, it seems rather...boring. If they face a noob deck, then they get real bored, real fast.

I just don't think I could place myself in that situation.
 
Frankly I don't know what to play for states.
I tried Rampardos, it sucks. Tried Slaking, it's too slow to be good. Tried Blastacatty, it was ok.
Tried Giratina/Togekiss, good but not good enough. Tried Gigas, didn't work.I tried EmpoZong and it works great. Next I am trying DuskZong.
I only got 3 weeks until states through... Arrg, I hope I'm ready by then.

Dude, that's exactly how I feel and how long I got left for States.

I might use Dusknoir + Dialga G Lv.X, or if that doesn't do good in League.

Then try BlastCatty V13, It's very fast. And the previous versions went undefeated for 3 weeks of League play.
 
i'm still probably going to play toxicroak/skuntank because i was sick for a week and missed out on league and stuff to get cards... so now i only have like 2 maybe 3 weeks of league left to get cards...
 
You guys think you've got it bad, i have 4 days till my states and my deck still isn't reading. I've tested it out on RS and it works well. i was going to go with Rampardos but people won't trade my uxies and i can't buy them from anywhere as they're all sold out.
so i shall just have to go with dustox, it makes those with bodies and powers beg for mercy
 
I only have 2 weeks as well. I am still looking for 1 Uxie, just 1. I am only going to be able to go to the league like one more time before my States. If I cannt get one from trade, I will just have to buy one from ebay, which I dont want to do. If I cannt get the Uxie I am going to run my new and very much improved T-Tar deck. I works the best out of all of my decks (becides Rampardos of course) and I have all of the cards to run it.

Does anyone else hate how they released a new set after CCs? Because now I have no idea what the metagame is going to be for States. \=
 
Oh. I just found out today that I won't be playing in States here. I'll be judging instead.
Ah well, at least I'll get more prizes than I would if I was playing. x3

I would go T-Tar, I have been working on a great build and it has actually been beating Rampardos and Kingdra about half the time. That is pretty good to me.

I agree with what you said about the pack thing too. Me and my friend (Waltregus12) have been complaining about it as well. I think for the meta, just watch out for Kingdra, Rampardos, and maybe Shamin but I am not for sure.
 
I can't decide what deck to use. I've been asking around and it seems the best decks for my area are Rhycatty and Mightytank. What I hate about my area is that it's swarming with Kingdra, and the people who play it get to go second 95% of the time, get a T1 Kingdra 90% of the time and get out something like 3 Kingdra 80% of the time.
At least if I manage to win I get a box of Platinum...
 
Two weeks and I hope my Mightyena can do at least decent. If I wanted to do better with a different deck, it'd be Tyranitar, but that deck is boring. I always will try my best with this obscure decks. :]

If you go to Ohio states, play iPlox, just for me <3

If not then I'd say go Kingdra, also considering your track record with it :D

Personally, I'm still freaking out. If I do go (there's like a 10% chance of that), I haven't had enough practice with any deck so I'll probably fail ._.
 
^^ Rampardos or Kingdra. I don't know if you like donk decks, but they work really well.
 
I got a week and I'm leaning towards Toxitank, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get everything I need in time. Mightytank seems to be working out fine on the other hand. I'll only use T-Tar as a last resort. :F

I have seen Porygon Z and man it pwns (the promo Pory) it made it into top cut at my states today, i don't know if it won or not.
