Is this home wi-fi? If not, where are you trying to connect? School networks have heightened security that possibly create connection problems.

Have you tried the troubleshoot feature for Windows (are you suing that OS)?

Do other computers on the network have Internet? I know that'd be somewhat obvious if you're posting this, but details are details, man.

Open command prompt. Type in "ipconfig" and paste the results in here.

if you're running Windows 7, then this is a known glitch that happens on random networks at random times. there are a variety of different fixes; I'd try googling the problem and trying anything you see. it could be as simple as editing a file in your registry.

yes.

I hooked up the computer to the router, but I'll try the other stuff.

Look at comment.

Actually, better approach. Try to connect via wi-fi. Get to the Network in Control Panel, open the Status of the connection, click on Details, and send me a screenshot of the status and the details window.

Try going into cmd prompt and typing these two in. (When you're connected, but have no internet.)

ipconfig /release ---- ipconfig /renew

From what I have read. Windows 8 is good for people involved with social media.

It's going to be a train wreck. Incidentally, is it in poor taste to bring popcorn to a train wreck?

They said it better than I could have.

What is the cheapest way to replace a screen on an Ipod touch 4th Gen?

If you want to void your warranty, you can take it apart and buy a screen and put it in yourself.

Other than that, that's really the only way to do it other than to get Apple to do it for cash.

Anyone know how hard it is to put a new screen on? It didn't have a warranty, I found it in a parkinglot, and I know the person didn't want it anymore, so... All it needs is a new screen.

Ok, I'm going to make my own computer, and my dad wanted me to look at this kit. I'd like to use the computer just for everyday use, but also for a little gaming, like Portal, and maybe Journy and Super Meat Boy. Anyway, I was wondering if this bundle would be able to play those games.

GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2P AMD 760 Motherboard - Micro ATX, Socket AM3+, AMD 760G Chipset, 1333MHz DDR3, SATA II (3Gb/s), RAID, 7.1-CH Audio, Gigabit LAN, USB 2.0
AMD ADX445WFK32GM Athlon II X3 445 Processor - Triple Core, 1.5MB L2 Cache, 3.10 GHz, Socket AM3, 95W, No Fan, OEM
Corsair CMX4GX3M1A1333C9 XMS3 4GB DDR3 RAM - PC10666, 1333MHz, 4096MB
WD Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB Desktop Hard Drive - 3.5", SATA, 7200RPM, 16MB Cache
Thermaltake CL-P0503 CPU Cooler - 70mm Fan, Rifle Bearing, Socket AM2, AM2+, AM3, 754, 939
Lite-On IHAS124-04 Internal DVD Writer - DVD+R 24X, DVD-R 24X, DVD+RW 8X, DVD-RW 6X, DVD+R DL 8X, SATA (OEM)
Ultra LS600 Lifetime Series 600W Power Supply - ATX, SATA-Ready, PCI-Express, Lifetime Warranty w/ Registration
Thermaltake V3 Black Edition Mid Tower Case - ATX, Micro ATX, 120mm LED Fan, 4x 5.25 Bays, 5x 3.5 Bays

This is what the bundle includes. I'm aware I'd need to by a video card, but any help on whether this could play something like Portal or not is appreciated. Thanks!

If you want to play on higher resolution, a graphics card would be recommended, as the CPU is better for number crunching, while a GPU actually is made to draw stuff.

Your specs are decent, so I don't think they'll be an issue, but I never had such a good computer to know for sure, haha. If you get in-game lag, try getting a graphics card as well.

  • What are you paying?
  • Is Portal the most intensive thing you'll be playing? Portal is probably the lightest Source game out there, so of there's anything like TF2, Portal 2, or anything else like Civ V, Borderlands, etc., you'll probably need a video card.
  • And for your video card, general recommendations from /r/buildapc would probably be a current-gen AMD card, but seeing as I don't have much knowledge with them, maybe a GeForce GTX 650?

But bottom line, yes, this should be able to play Portal 1.
