Could someone tell me about the Kindle Fire? I'm debating on if I should get one or not...

7" multi-touch display with IPS (in-plane switching) technology and anti-reflective treatment, 1024 x 600 pixel resolution at 169 ppi, 16 million colors.

8GB internal (approximately 6GB available for user content). That's enough for 80 apps, plus 10 movies or 800 songs or 6,000 books.

customized Android 2.3 Gingerbread

Can I hook it up with iTunes? How does this compare with the iPad? (Sorry if this is not allowed with the whole PC/Mac fight battle thing.)

Oh, no I don't get a flashing line... And it only recently started, about a week ago.

So you don't get this when you are trying to boot?: _ Only this will be flashing instead. That dash anyway. That is what I am talking about XD.:)

Do you mean download directly from iTunes? PC/Mac fight means putting down the other because you love your choice.

Hazz, you may want to consider a Factory Data Reset. I think what you are experiencing is corruption in windows.

RE: PokéBeach Technological Help Thread

Does anyone else have a solution to fix my Wi-Fi in my router? Thanks? I need a page detailing the my router Setup? It is a D Link. Model Number DI 624. What I need is the setting to change so that my DS can access Wi-Fi and have all 3 bars also. When I do get a signal it only does 1 bar unless I am on the computer then it doed 2 bars but never 3 bars unless it is next to the router.

So I need to know the correct setting to change so my DS can access Wi-Fi
and the thing to change to make the range longer than it is also.

I hope someone can help. Thanks.:)

Does this page help at all? It's Nintendo's support page for your router.

No, you can't. You can convert your downloaded music to a Kindle-Compatible format and then put it on, but Itunes will not recognize or sync with the Kindle. Unless you'll be using the Kindle for primarily reading books, I recommend the ipad over it. (I have both) The app store is much better, and while iOS gives you less control, the likelyhood of it being supported to your needs is more likely.

If control over the device is your focal point, get a Samsung Galaxy Tab or HP Slate.

RE: PokéBeach Technological Help Thread

Yup. That was my question. I've messed with the iPad a little bit, but never the Kindle Fire. I'd be using the Kindle Fire for what an iPod touch could do: movies, music and apps.

What are the benefits of an iPad over a Kindle Fire?

RE: PokéBeach Technological Help Thread

Kindle Fire is the #1 selling Android tablet.

One plus for Android is 3rd party markets

I will have to have my mom check it out when I have a chance to show her. Thanks XD.:)

RE: PokéBeach Technological Help Thread

Looked at Kindle Fire today. No Camera, No SD slot, No USB port.

I will stick with my Pandigital Super Nova. 8" screen, 1Ghz processor, Android 2.3, 2 cameras, SD slot that can handle cards up to 32 Gb, USB port, HDMI port, and can use mouse and keyboard.

RE: PokéBeach Technological Help Thread

Ah. No camera? That's huge for me. I wanna Skype with a webcam. Maybe I'll just save up for a MacBook Pro or a new iPad. iPad 3? Hahaha.

RE: PokéBeach Technological Help Thread

Guys I would stick to you Iphone because when they stated that the Fire was cheaper that it did not have those items. Therefore it is good but it does not have those extras. It is good if you don't want all the extras. You know it has Wi-Fi right. IRC I think it has that but not the other extras.:)

RE: PokéBeach Technological Help Thread

I thought all Android tablets had Wi-Fi.

RE: PokéBeach Technological Help Thread

They should but I am not sure on the Fire though. According to the news and media they say to stick with your IPhone or a product equivalent to the IPhone. In other words stick with the product you have now and forget the Fire if you want the extras.:)

I guarantee it does. It has to have way to download books and music from Amazon on to it.

RE: PokéBeach Technological Help Thread

That makes sense. It just does not have the extras like the bigger competitors have. The Fire is the thing you want if you don't want the extras. It is mainly like an IPad in a way XD.:)

I will stick with my Pandigital Super Nova. It gave me more at the same price as a Kindle Fire.

RE: PokéBeach Technological Help Thread

That's a good idea. If I had one I would do the same. But before that happens I would get a DSi or IPad anyway.:)

RE: PokéBeach Technological Help Thread

Kindle Fires are a cross between a tablet "lite" and a fancier e-reader. People are buying them as cheap tablets, but they're still definitely geared more towards the e-reader consumer. There's really no good way to get full tablet functionality out of them.

I'm still holding my breath before I get a tablet of my own. They've got some cool stuff (I get to play with tonnes of different ones at work), but I'm a bit spoiled by my netbook (11 hour battery life, super fast start-up, light enough and small enough to carry in my purse) as far as portable internet needs go, and I'm not a twitter/facebook/apps sort of person. I know I'll get there someday, and probably soon, but nothing's caught my eye enough yet at the right price for me to go for it. It'll very likely be Android-based, but that's as far as my decision-making process has gotten so far.
