'Phantom Gate' Scans and Translations! [9/10]

Am I forgetting something, or does Wobbuffet only block Exeggcute and Audino (Not counting any potential cards from this set)?

There are some corrections to make to the card translations

Heliolisk's second attack is Parabola Spark

Wobbuffet's ability stops the abilities of non-Psychics in hand, discard, AND field

Spiritomb's first attack, "Biikyan", is a shortened form of "B-Cancel"

Malamar EX's attack is a play on Calamari but isn't actually calamari, "karamari" is "entanglement"

Gourgeist's attack does 10 damage for each card in YOUR hand

That sound's so broken but it would at least deal with Pyroar.

FINNEON AND LUMINEON SQUEEEE

So glad XY is not shying away from bringing back the Pokemon we haven't seen in forever.

Wowwy that Lysandre's Last Resort is a crazy card! The FA is so cool too! Can't wait for a cleaner scan of it!

Durant from Noble Victories is no longer viable as an Extended format deck because of Lysandre's Last Resort lol. This set is going to open up a lot of diversity in the game, and I'm excited. Manectric > Yveltal > Gengar > Fighting Types > Manectric and then Seismitoad and Pyroar and Virizion have their own thing going on so it'll be interesting.

Always wondered what a full art drawn by ariga would look like. It looks amazing. Both versions. They are both equally amazing too!

Hahahaha! They finally did it. We now, from the beginning of Black/White on, have a counterpart to every single Trainer from Base Set, except Super Energy Removal (wonder why that didn't happen... ;p) Of course, some (like Bill, Defender and Pokemon Center) have pretty lose counterparts, but eh.

Incidentally, I've been wanting Pokemon Flute back, so I love Target Whistle. It makes Dusknoir much, much more powerful. Can work pretty handily with things like Empoleon, too, though it's probably not worth using just for that. This might just be the death blow for Exeggcute and maybe even Jirachi-EX. Substitute Robot is amazing, too. And I didn't see it coming. The last time we had a Trainer that became a Pokemon was what, Arceus? Just knew we'd get a card based on Lysandre's contraption, and it's an interesting one for sure. I can see Virizion/Genesect using it, but don't know if much else will.

Venomoth is my favourite Pokemon, so always nice to see another one. As usual, it's an interesting card. I'd actually say its effect is arguably more powerful than ones that just plain lock out Trainers, since it tempts the opponent to use some of them instead of just leaving them all in their hand until they can shut off your Trainer lock. Plus it stops Supporters AND Items, which makes it extremely powerful. Probably won't be too viable since it doesn't deal damage, but I can guarantee I'll use it. Shame Lumineon sucks, it's another Pokemon I like. I'm surprised regular Manectric-EX has a solid 2-energy attack also. Gourgeist is going to be super-fun. Looking forward to that, even though it's ultimately not very good. (If only its attack was cheaper...) Slurpuff is interesting, but I don't know if it's worth using. And heh, Heatran is nice. We get a good Metal non-EX attacker finally.

Not impressed at all that there is no special lightning energy in the set. Dimensional Valley is 87, Mystery Energy 88 and the last non UR card in the set so no room for another special energy. Pokemon can be so inconsistent. I mean I realize they only started putting these new specials out last set, but the pattern was beginning to show (Special energy matching the megas of the set) so I was really looking forward to eventually having one Special Energy of each type. Guess it wasn't meant to be.

Pachirisu – Lightning – HP70
Basic Pokemon

[C] Surprise Sticker: 10 damage. Until the end of your turn, your opponent’s Active Pokemon that was attacked by this attack has a [L] weakness (x2 Weakness).
[L][C] Zap: 20+ damage. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 30 more damage.

Weakness: Fighting (x2)
Resistance: Metal (-20)
Retreat: 1

I don't know if this will be any good, but I do like it.

GULPIN AND SWALOT OMG

My only gripe about this set so far is that they didn't take this opportunity to A) let female Frillish and Jellicent take the front from their men and B) use them as Psychic-type cards while they're at it. And that's such a minor thing because NON-5BAN KALOS ART AND FORGOTTEN NOBODIES RETURNING <3

Honestly, I don't find Cobalion LTR good enough. 80 damage isn't a lot, and Energy Press isn't usually going to do much more than that either.
