The Amaura and Aurorus episode was super cute! :3 Such happy and playful Pokémon; they were a joy to watch. Team Rocket was, indeed, rather cringe-worthy in this episode; I can understand the desire to steal the fossil Pokémon, but the whole truck thing was just kind of lame. :< I do like that they're back to their "normal" selves after the dark, serious tone they had during BW.

The preview for the Skrelp episode looks like it would have been fun; shame about it being cut. :<

A preview trailer for XY025 can be seen here on the TV Tokyo website. Looks like we do indeed get both Tyrunt and Onix! We also see all 3 of Ash's Pokémon fight, so maybe Grant goes easy on him, hard to tell.

Amaura was indeed cute and playful, Aurorus...was just being a parent. I still have a "thing" with "long necks" after my whole story with Meganium being too cute, too female and an exception amongst Grass starters. But it made me prefer those two instead of Tyrantrum and Tyrunt.

The whole heist was crap. They're watching a big Pokémon and yet they think they can move it with their bare hands, not to mention if it would fit in the truck. Also, didn't Team Rocket used in one of the first episodes some kind of Pkdex tech? Why not scanning it and learning that those two lived and prefer(ed) cold places? Team Rocket doesn't have the money issues they had a couple of seasons ago where they would even starve, and they did use a nice piece of equipment to open a hole, so the creators really weren't thinking at all.
About the truck...well, Pokémon seems to have a thing for trucks! First, the Vermilion truck, then the protagonist of the Hoenn games arrived in a truck, and now this!
I don't mind they not being the evil guys they were back in BW, but give us the balance we had right at the start of this season: goofiness keeped inside the trio, thought strategies and good combats. At least Jessie used Woobbuffet, but the other two Pokémon are just there for being punchbags - no Island of the Giant Pokémon, no poacher episode (the one where Weezing and Arbok are released), no episode where we can learn about them and their personalities...just another Yamask and Woobat.

Yes, it seemed very nice. Unfortunately, if it takes too long and if the gang gets new Pokémon, the chances of airing it will decrease but with that in mind, I hope they still air it.

Holy crud, I can't wait to see this gym match in the dub! I've only seen pictures and already it shows Froakie being a total crazy cool ninja! This guy just deserves to become a Greninja one day.

The battle with Grant was just "meh". Fletchling was ridiculous, with Pikachu being the star of the episode, managing to keep up with Iron Tail. Froakie was ok.
The return of the akward attacks and moves makes a return from Sinnoh which was kind of nostalgic. Too bad Ash still keeps his lousy behaviour of just walking without knowing where things are.

I'm afraid of the next episode. I just hope the girl doen't become a cooking rival for Serena because we all had enough cooks and cooking with Brock and Cilan. Btw, I liked Slurpuff but didn't knew it had teeth and along with its behaviour of always his tongue out, it seems too much like a dog. =(
PS: I'm guessing Fennekin will again act like a damsel and be disgusted by the attacks from Swirlix.

I kinda liked the battle, I also think the music in XY is pretty good :3

I do think that Chigoras was totally OP, I mean, Draco Meteor? Really? I had a Chigoras in my Y game and I don't think it had any of these moves but Crunch and maybe Dragon Tail. But it must have been lvl 30 or even higher. This is my first time watching Pokemon for real (instead of random episodes or getting bored halfway) so I don't know if Pokémon in the anime always have weird moves. If they do, ignore this please xD

Aaaaand a break, dang. Is this because of Golden Week or just because they skipped an episode and need to make up for that?

I think the break is because of Golden Week; they tend to break for holidays. And they obviously already have X number of episodes in advance otherwise they wouldn't have been able to slap in a new episode last week so quickly. I don't mind the break, though; I probably won't be able to see the Gym Leader battle until next week anyway. >_>

I'm definitely not an anime expert, but it does usually seem that Pokémon in the anime learn more moves and in different ways than in the games. That said, in X/Y Draco Meteor is taught via a Move Tutor in a house on Route 21, so in theory Chigoras could learn that move rather easily. :D

Now that I'm back from vacation I was able to watch the Gym Battle myself. I thought the Keromatsu vs. Onix battle was pretty great! It went by rather quickly, but it showed that Ash and his training with his Pokémon worked well; the training accomplished something instead of Ash just blindly attacking people without trying. The Tyrunt battle was more disappointing. Once again, Pikachu was the star of the show. Yawn, go home folks, the show is over. I think the episode would have been a lot more satisfying if Pikachu had been the one to test and weaken Tyrunt, letting Fletchling get the kill. Everyone knows Pikachu is strong and awesome and godly and can kill everything, but poor Fletchling has gotten almost no attention. Fletchling winning the battle would have been a great catalyst towards it evolving, too. Ah well, we can't have everything. And regardless, it was a lot of fun to see Tyrunt "in person" so to speak; I never realized how large it was! At least in comparison to Keromatsu. :p

While we know Pikachu is strong, we also know how that is badly shown sometimes or abused in another's...better saying, Pikachu doesn't exactly follow a certain route of growth. We've seen Pikachu getting tired after just a little while others we've seen it knocking out foes when odds where almost agaisn't it - I can't forget the battle with Trip's Serperior where this one should had won.
Regardind Fletchling, it was expected. First of all, did you notice how it was missing from the "VS screen", featuring only Pikachu and Froakie (and it happened before I think!)? While reading your post I was thinking that it would be ridiculous for such a small and frail bird to beat Tyrunt even after being somewhat tired but I remembered that it would be nice to see Fletchling being swallowed by Tyrunt, only to start attacking from inside its mouth and beat it since it would indeed add up to its value and not being just the "searching guy".

So it looks like Serena won't even get a second pokemon until after the new move comes out. Can someone explain to me the logic of Serena only having one Pokemon for 50 episodes? She also has no goal, she barely feels like a trainer, and she's never been in a real battle since her debut.

I don't understand why the writers are treating her like this, especially after the way May and Dawn were handled. Serena almost feels like she's not intended to be a trainer at all.

I, too, wish they would give Serena a bit more character development. This most recent episode didn't even really help much in that respect. Her new "rival" is simply a rude pastry chef that seemingly has a crush on Ash for no apparent reason. I must admit, I don't really care for her or her Pokémon and would be perfectly happy if her appearance is just a one-off and she doesn't come back.

The rest of the episode was quite a lot of fun, though. I rather liked Team Rocket's involvement this time; Jessie was very in-character, making up a title for herself (Top Pofflé Queen of Rocket-Dan, indeed) and then getting pissed that other girls did better than her at some thing and wanting to ruin them. The tongue-twister-named Octillery machine was hilarious.

Seeing the plot setup for the next episode makes me recant my previous estimates that we'd see a Flabébé capture this next episode. Oh well. :<

Oh, the next episode looks interesting :3

I'm glad Eureka didn't get Flabebe in the end, it just wouldn't feel right. But this episode feels like the one with Espurr. Very sad though ;.;

The ...(whatever was the name of that sweet) episode was just kind of "meh". I'm kind of sick of seeing the female companions having a rival just for the sake of it. Good thing that it seems she won't be returning so soon.

Now, regarding Flabebe's episode, it started kind like the one with Espurr but I'm glad the old lady didn't died and I'm glad Eureka acted serious instead of childish like when asking the sweet specialist to marry Clemont since I really wasn't expecting that and it was ridiculous. Ash, the winner of the Orange League and failure at just everything else, and the rest of the gang were just frightened children with beated Pokémon that now looked like nothing more than insects when facing the might of Wobbufet...that's the power of Team Rocket!

Serena seems to be there just in order to be Ash's cute girfriend that will only become such thing, if at all, by the end.
Regarding the rival, I don't think she has a crush towards Ash because those finals words of her seemed like it was just to amnoy Serena and make her do something, so not with bad intentions at all, even the opposite.
Jessie...seriously, another competition with young females? She just seems like Ash, taking up everything to compete, no matter what, trying to steal the thunder. What's worse, no (even if lame) backstory about her childhood years as an orphan, her mother's absence, nothing, she's just the Queen because she is. Also, TR, the kings of machines try to cook, instead of coming up with a machine that can cook everything and cheat?

Btw, Ash, the always hungry monkey still doesn't know that you can't eat everything. STUPID!

I feel like I'm super late, but I finally got to see the Flabébé episode today. Despite the Eureka focus, it was rather cute and fun; I definitely understand the parallels people were drawing between this episode and the Espurr one. Loved Team Rockets Austrian-esque costumes (they will always be the masters of costuming) and thought their ending was cute and silly.

Still no Pokémon caught, and since this is our traditional, main Flabébé episode, I withdraw my previous hypothesis that Serena would catch one. If Serena gets any Fairy-type at this point, it might be a Spritzee to counter her "rival", but I honestly hope that doesn't happen because I'd hate for the rival to be a recurring character. Maybe a Carbink instead? That would be cute. :3 I can't really see her with a Klefki, but I can't help but feel she'd be more likely to get a 6th gen fairy than a previous gen. If it's previous gen, I'll hope for a Mawile so she can maybe get some Mega Mawile awesomeness.

Next/Current episode looks cool. I'm kind of hoping the anime will develop Diantha more as a character than the scant personality she got in the games.

We've also got a few more titles for further upcoming episodes; I've added them to the OP. Looks like we'll be getting a double Mega Lucario battle just like in the games; I wonder if Ash will be controlling one of them? :p

I know subbing an episode takes long, but it's been ten days since the last release and XY 28 is still not subbed. If only it were as popular as Naruto, we'd get the subs within hours :c

I've been very disappointed in the slow subbing, too. :\ It seems there's only the one group that's working on it, so if they have problems or delays, everyone suffers...

Finally!

I love episodes like these! Champions are so epic <3

This is probably just me, but Carne reminds me a lot of Shirona. Especially their love for sweet things. It's funny, because Carne wears white and has dark hair while Shirona wears black and has lighter hair. Now I want M Gaburias vs M Sirknight to happen >.>

And yay, next episode is a special! I wonder how long it'll take to sub it, probably lik three weeks..

The Champion Carne episode was very good! I was kind of disappointed in how short and one-sided her battle against Morgan was, but, well, she is the Champion, so I guess it's not that surprising. I really love the way they showcased the bond between her and Sirknight, complete with eye movements and gestures for communication, and also the expansion of the Mega/Key Stones mythology with Carne being able to use her Key Stone to locate Sirknight via its stone, just like, in game, you can use your upgraded Key Stone to find and locate more Mega Stones in the post-game. Also, many lolz at Musashi's changes to the Team Rocket motto.

I also did, literally, laugh out loud when I realized the fake Satoshi from the upcoming/current episode is Kojiro, and Musashi is Serena and Nyarth gets to be Eureka. Can't wait to see this one. Should have a lot of nice gag images and gifs if nothing else.

Also also, we've got a few more episode titles! Seems like Corni might be traveling with the gang for a bit based on all the (Mega) Lucario action we're seeing.

The episode was bland. The Champion seemed ok but Ash's behaviour is just annoying as usual and I'm just sick of Clemont's gag of staying behind when running. Another thing: Ash keeps being carefree, not informing itself about the important people from the regions he's visiting, so yeah, it's like seeing some tourists that come to Portugal and think we're part of Spain, and not an independent country, so prettydamn stupid and idiotic.
Btw, I'm getting weary of the gang. No training, no letting their Pokémon out. I miss Chespin and this one was absent
from that sweets episode!?

I support that! :)

The new episode was ok, things went a bit different and I like that :3
I'll be waiting for the next one to get subbed before I talk about it.

Also DAT OPENING. Best opening ever ;.;
The music is fine, I already liked Volt. But I'm afraid I'm going crazy over those last few seconds! If a creditless version pops up somewhere please tell me, because I'm going to make myself a Sirknight/Carne avatar <3
Totally not fangirling here. Ahem.

When I was stuck on my tablet, I couldn't watch the new episodes because the website isn't really touch screen friendly and I couldn't find good versions on Youtube. T_T Now that I can sit at the computer again, though, I was able to watch both of the special episodes. :3

I don't really care for the new OP/ED songs as much, sadly. The new version of the OP is weird, though the scenes are cool. Interesting to see that Shauna, Tierno, and Trevor will play a role in the anime, too; with Satoshi, Serena, and Citron having the Kalos starters, it makes sense for the others to have the Kanto ones. I hope they don't all travel in one big group since that seems, well, a lot, but it'll be interesting to see what kind of a role they play. We also know what Ash's next Pokémon is going to be (Hawlucha! \o/), right before the movie comes out, too. The ending song was okay, but I liked the old song better. Though I like that this one has more animation and such instead of just the Pokédex with the Pikachu face.

I really loved the Fake Satoshi episode. And I was totally right about the gifs, too.

There were so many plot holes in that episode, but I don't even care. Silly Team Rocket episodes are best episodes.

The episode with Corni was fun, too. I must admit, I already like her a lot more in the anime than I liked her in game. It makes so much more sense for her to have one Lucario that she has a strong bond with. It's looking like we'll get a whole little story arc with her and Lucario, so that should be fun. And right when Rising Fist is coming out, too! You'd think Pokémon planned this or something. :p

The previews were something of a mix-up for all of the next coming episodes before the movie, but the "next" episode should be subbed soon, so I guess I'll just sit and wait.
