RE: PokéBeach VGC Domination - Professional Organized Team

I'll probably use a rain dance team with kyogre and Lapras. Maybe with some sort of mewtwo counter.

*Bump*

So what are some strategies we got going for anti- weather and whatnot?

I personally like Trick-Room lapras. like I said, most legendaries have fairly high base-speed, and Water Absorb. Then, Thunder gains 100 percent accuracy, which is fairly nice since you're attacking before the Kyogre. Just need to find some way to KO it before it can get onto Lapras.

Otherwise, maybe a weather team that counters rain? Like for example, Sandstorm, gets rid of Rain, and gives Rock Pokémon a 33% [or something] SpDef boost, helping them take hits from opposing Water Pokémon. And there's more Pokémon with Sand Stream then there are with Drizzle, and Drought. And the bit of extra damage on a tank like Kyogre doesn't hurt that much either.

Or even Groudon hurts rain teams if it has enough Def/Sp Def to avoid being OHKO and stop the rain for a little bit...
I still like Quaza though as that really annoys a lot of stuff.

Kingdra takes advantage of the weather and could pull off either Dragon Pulse or Draco Meteor to unleash large damage against Kyogre to neutralize Waterspout. I don't think the sandstorm strategy will work well because the ones that give an infinite sandstorm are ohko'd by Kyogre, which will be probably the most played Pokemon.

This is true, however I don't think Kyogre has the ability to OHKO Tyranitar in a Sandstorm. Kyogre no longer gets the extra STAB boost w/o rain, and Tyranitar gets the extra Sp. Def, so it's getting hit for basically just barely over neutral damage, if I've calculated correctly.

The other option could be a hail team, as Hail has Pokémon that take Water-type attacks with Little/No damage [lapras] while taking advantage of hail. Auto blizzard hit is nice for things that aren't rain-oriented, like Garchomp or Salamence [which isn't seen as much in VGC]

RE: PokéBeach VGC Domination - Professional Organized Team

You need to have a minimum of 88 evs in HP to survive Water Spout assuming you aren't running any special defense evs or special defense up nature. The chance of survival with that is minimal, but possible. You need to have over 200 evs in HP to even have more than a 50% chance of surviving.

RE: PokéBeach VGC Domination - Professional Organized Team

Don't forget, all dual hitting moves are cut to 75% power for each pokemon they hit rather than the full 100% damage. Very critical for move calcs in VGC.

RE: PokéBeach VGC Domination - Professional Organized Team

^Yes, but Rain support does kind of negate that. Surf, for instance, would be cut to 75%, then raised again, up to 110% with rain in effect.

Dragon9 should PM you back. You can also come on the chat since he is on sometimes. Another option is to AIM him. (dragon9owns).

RE: PokéBeach VGC Domination - Professional Organized Team

I have a question for all of you. Who knows how to RNG abuse?

RE: PokéBeach VGC Domination - Professional Organized Team

RE: PokéBeach VGC Domination - Professional Organized Team

Yay, now to get into VGC mode...which is my true love here.

RE: PokéBeach VGC Domination - Professional Organized Team

They seriously need to have a Regionals in the Midwest Region. There is like nothing by MN at all. I don't know how to RNG abuse.

RE: PokéBeach VGC Domination - Professional Organized Team

Is AR eving or RNG abuse aloud???? Well, mainly AR eving codes cuz thats were Marks Latios and Palkia are from.

BTW: VGC Team

Mewtwo(Specs or Life Orb???)
Latios(Scarf)
Garchomp(Jolly or Adamant??)
Zapdos(Modest)

RE: PokéBeach VGC Domination - Professional Organized Team

@PDC: I know for sure that AR EVing codes are not allowed, however, RNG abuse probably is, because you're only using your DS and your Game. You're not doing anything that you couldn't do without them, you're just making sure that you do it, rather than having like a 1/8192 chance of doing it. :F

RE: PokéBeach VGC Domination - Professional Organized Team

Ok, so if I have a Kingdra with these IVS: 31 / 31 / 31 / 30 / 31 / 31

Will they count that as hacked? (RNG'd)
