Now that the English versions of the games have been released and quite a handful members of PokeBeach have already received their copies, this thread will be dedicated to your thoughts of the games, what you liked, what you didn't like, etc.

The way how Pokemon are constantly moving is cool, and I like how they decided to "reset" everything by preventing you from getting foreign Pokemon until after the game has been won.

No personal review yet but I figured that I'd post these anyway:

i find it great.

i love that you can use items on your pokemon as often as you want. instead of everytme you use an item get taken back to your pack to use it again consistantly answering "are you sure?"

i really like that they move in battle.

everything seems faster.

i dislike that at the bottom screen no longer has you menue until you press x i liked it being there permanantly so you could just tap to put your running boots on or use a rod.

i like however that y can be used to set multiple shortcuts. (though took me forever to realise what the boxes were)

i hate how you have to get "running shoes" before you can run always iritated me in the games.

i like the first gym how its type changes and that you get one on the monkeys depending on your starter.

i like team plasma.

i liek that you can abttle ad trade with nearby people from anywhere.
and pass friend codes on via infared.

im likeing the new pokemon more now than when they were anounced and am loving blitzle and tepig and roggenrolla.

everything just goes smoother faster and nicer. in general massive improvement over other games with only 1 or 2 step downs.
oh i also hate that black doesnt get braviery :( but ill trade with my mate.

If only If most of the new Pokemon designs weren't such a letdown I'd love this game. That and the new VGC Rules irritate me to no end, you get to 600+ Pokemon and you start to wonder whether or not Game Freak is running out of ideas for new Pokemon. There's no question that Generation I and II were the most creative If not most original designs in the history of the franchise, Generation III wasn't too bad and neither was IV, but V?

I was looking forward to migrating my old Pokemon from Platinum onto Black or White but it doesn't look like I can If I want to compete in video game tournaments. Banning the previous 493 Pokemon from Generation IV was a HUGE mistake that's going to cost TPCi and Pokemon USA big time. Japan probably doesn't care though even though they get their stuff before we do.

I'm probably going to save myself $35-$40 on a game that had a huge amount of potential but failed to deliver in the longrun all because of Nintendo and Game Freaks' Marketing Ploy to force everyone to use Unova Region Pokemon without ones from previous Generations. Sure you can use Old Pokemon Casually on Black/White but what's the point If you can't compete with them in a Sanctioned Tournament?

B&W have their awesomeness, and they're failures.

Failures:

Bag Compartments
No Constant Running
Looks more pixelated than other titles
TOO MUCH PATRAT

Awesome:

New Pokemon
Battle Menu
Music
When you battle a gym leader the whole: YOUR NAME VS. GYM LEADER
Camera/Angle Shifts
Pokedex

This isn't much since I havnt gotten very far, but these are my thoughts so far

@Slick

Oh its terrible right now. I hate patrats, and now that i need one for cut, I CANT FIND ONE ANYWHERE !!!!

I so agree with this.

I got White this morning, and played nonstop up til Nimbasa, where I decided to take a break. The only reason this game is ranked 2nd in my list of pokemon games is due to the nostalgia of Ruby being the first Videogame I ever owned. I love almost all 156 new pokemon, the characters and dialogue are good, and the animation and aesthetic feel in general are much improved. I absolutely love these games, and the pros FAAAR outweigh the cons.

I give it a 9.75/10

I will give it a 8 out of 10
Good things:
Unlimited TM's
Seeing parts of NY in Unova.
Now able to trade pokemon everywhere with IR (like;omfg i need Gigalith fast @ gym 6,hey you want to trade with so i could get a Gigalith?)
C-gear
DSi Enchancements
Seeing something new,
No HM's slaves needed.
Improvements in Graphics.
Bad things:
Menu should be like the HGSS one, That one was awesome.
After the story i though N was crazy in his head.
Some pokemon not learning new moves after evolving
Game is relative short.
Battle subway being unrealistic,Wailord in a small subway? WTF! ( But hey, it's pokemon)
Some pokemon were pretty hard to train in the beginning (Blitzle)

lol, Wailord anywhere is impossible. Although...

The only HM you are required to use to beat the main game is a one time use of Cut. About time HMs weren't needed.

dmaster out.

Well, to catch certain legends COUGH Cobalon im looking at you COUGH, require HM's, so for me Im gonna end up needing like 1 or 2

Wow, I just got my copy of White, and I must say that I'm actually having a lot of fun. Even though the graphics aren't as much of an improvement as they were hyped up to be, the improvements are notable and the game, so far, is a blast. I'll post a more lengthy review when I can find the time.

To me, it feels like 20 steps forward and then 8 steps back. There are so many fantastic little things that have been fixed and added together to make the game much richer. But then, they got rid of a ton of improvements from HGSS that helped out a lot. The ability to see your opponent's abilities during battle is so helpful compared to the tiny text blocks from before. And when it comes to the box system, I'm glad. They made almost no changes, but the ability to walk away from the PC without confirmation is greatly appreciated. Most of these changes were just to the user interfaces. Reorganizing the bag is understandable, but a I'd like a quick reskin rather then this whole "Let's mash all the items together hurrrr durrrrr." Removing the button to run is a massive mistake and simply stupid. WHO THOUGHT THAT WAS GOOD IDEA? In HGSS, they trained us to use our stylus for dialogue. Then they turn around and completely remove that. While I hate using the stylus for dialogue, it took me forever to get accustomed to it, and I dislike having to drop it again.

Pokemon wise -meh. It's really hit or miss this generation. I adore half and hate half. There is no true middle ground.

Graphics: GOOD GOLLY DOES THIS GAME STAND OUT! Remember when you first play Diamond & Pearl, and you were like "HOLY MUNNA SMOKES, THIS GAME IS 3-D!"? Black & White is that times a bajillion. Spritewise, it's pretty much the same as the other games- which means it has fantastic sprites.

Yet again we suffer from poor explanation in Pokemon games. Could it kill them to thoroughly explain any part of the C-Gear? Or at least what the Battle Box is for? The explanation you're given is maybe 2 sentences long, and along the lines of "It let's you battle with pokemon!" What does that mean? How does it work? Almost all wireless functions go unexplained.

And finally, the last problem I have is the need to own two DSs to trade over Pokemon. I know this is normal for all Pokemon games ever invented. BUT COME ON! We're in 2011 now Nintendo. Stop with you money grubbing schemes and let us just store the data onto the DS Download play or DSi's memory.

In the end- I'd give it a 9/10. It's a Pokemon game. If you want something new, go outside and play sports(Just kidding XD) But compared to other Pokemon games, it's a 10.1/10. Sure it has it's flaws, but it works well and most of those flaws are only noticeable if you've been a longtime fan of the series. Long time fans aren't the target demographic of this game, Nintendo knows that they desperately need more addicts...,I mean fans, to keep the series rolling. The extra .1 is because the DS menu image is animated, lol.

I absolutely love BW. The things that were excluded from previous titles (like the menu which I was in older habits for anyway) are replaced by other feature that can further you experience. The character where not the most ingenious do exactly what I wanted, have a menacing feel, while having the humorous tone. The battle system is as great as ever, and brings plenty of new attacks and abilities to the table. There are no old Pokemon early in the game (which some make take badly,) which allows you to have the same experience as Red and Blue, no old familiar pokemon to rely on makes it more unpredictable and open. The designs are fun IMO, having a nice mix of lame/cute and enjoyable (like Whimsicott), and tough and cool pokemon (like Hydragion.) The few problems I have with the game are that early routes don't have a good selection of Pokemon, and the lack of Master Balls for SR (old habits die hard hehe.) All in all this game is really great and many complaints I see I attribute to not being familiar with the game (and being stuck in last generation(s)) and will pass with time.

Then again this comes from a seasoned RB veteran who always looks for the best in these games.

Great job Game Freak!

(PS: To those complaining about Pokemon like Klink
Your complaining about Pokemon like Klink when this is a standard part of Pokemon that has always been present, get over it)

OKay, I have gotten the game yet, but here is what I am seeing so far.

Pokemon- There seem to be NO evolutions...So, do you just evolve your starter and ta-da?

Also, no new Eeveelutions...
;_;

Graphics-Awesome! And the new character designs look better, except for the girl. They have moved on from the innapropiate clothing, it seems.

PokeCenter-New Joy? Awesome.

Team Plasma-This is an awesome improvement from the ever-so-classic "WE SHALL TAKE OVER THE WORLD/UNIVERSE!".
Because, for once, they have an arguement I can understand!
"Pokemon need to be free."
I can actually UNDERSTAND that.

That's much better.
