no.....any Avatar will do :] There really isnt any techicnal limits, just dont stretch my page.

TSC-The point of the contest is to make something "new". Im kinda against people just throwing in what they've already made....but since its the first challenge and its quite general at that, I will accept it. Please lets try from now on to MAKE things the week that the challenge is released.

And you didn't answer my 2nd question,... are we allowed to replace our project with another one before the end of the 1st challenge? Anyways, I was making this avatar like 2 hours,... I tought that most of the guys/girl(Princess of the dark), are going to make banners, so I tought,... what the hell. Congrats B-Ray, for the great competition.

WOW.....good stuff. Definately Setting the bar high. Yes, you are allowed to replace your entry before the end. Just make sure that you dont copy anyone elses ideas or it will result in a 0. And thanks for the compliment.

Yep....he'll be back Saturday the day that we'll start the judging. As long as he gets them done that night, we'll have no problems.

I was looking at the posts in this thread, and I saw that we didn't hear anything about Princess of the Dark since the first post,... so I think that you should-just in case- inform competitors that the 1st challenge has started,...

Adding you to the list....and I mean what describes you as an artist....and No, it has to be done on the computer. No hand-drawn art in the competition.

I was going to hold this off until Wednesday, but I think I'll submit mine, anyways.

Resources:
- Original Glaceon image found here: http://www.pokesho.com/elog/07_04.html
- Background done with a circle gradient and various Photoshop filters, then distorted with Perspective view.
- Text made in a similiar way as the background.
- Sparkles were made by mouse. The only Photoshop tool I used was opacity for each unique sparkle.
- Eyes were recolored by Replace Color and Brightness/Contrast functions, then modifies by mouse and clone stamp to change the expression.

Time Reequired: 5 hours

Personal Opinion: I really tried many things I had never tried before. Conflicting themes like beauty and evil seemed to work well. This is also the first time I have used Perspective Distortion and the "Sparkle effect" in any of my previous pics.

Okay....I have some quick announcements.

1. 4/16 competitors have turned in their entrys....still looking for the rest....but you have till this coming Friday which is a ton of time.

2. Im making a small change to the rules. Instead of the policy that if you turn your work in early (before Thursday in this case) you will get an extra point added to your final average. I've talked it over with some judges, and we've decided to make a small change.

Instead of just offering that one point, we've decided to add another option. If you turn it in early (before Thursday in Challenge #1, before Saturday in most others) you will have the option of:
A:Taking 1 point added to your Final Average score.
B:Get MY personal thoughts of the piece....includes things to fix, improve on, etc etc.

Also,please decide which of these you are choosing ASAP. Remember if you turn it in when its due, you will not get one of these benefits.

Also theres some new things in the first post so check it out.

OK I am so sorry for my absence! If I am still able to compete let me know, I thank you so much for the invite I had personal matters to attend to for a while. I hope I can still be in! Also if I need to do the current chanlenge and the next I will just let me know. I ask you to please let me stay, but if not it will be ok.
