States Predictions

Yes. He used ZekEels.

im not surprised with the result. i honestly believe in reshi[ex]boar's potential as a top tier deck. the concept is pretty easy to grasp, get emboar up load up your active to ohko the defending pokemon. people are probably testing black and white era reshiboar builds in their match-ups. they need to think outside the box to conjure a good build that incorporates next destinies cards as well as cards that werent part of the pre-ND era builds.

I completely agree (if I understood correctly). Some people still think of Reshiboar EX as something with the pokemon lines of 3 Reshiram 1 Reshiram EX. Those people will not do so well in States.

likewise. I got over the magneboar thing, so i will definitely take REV into consideration. I also think that ZEM is a bit overrated.

reshiEXboar
mageel
zekeel
mtc
i also agree that ZEM is overrated it depends way tro much on the opening hand

Durant will also be good if the location doesn't have many people playing Reshiram, and even then, some people will have no idea how to combat it properly. Now, I don't think Durant will be winning much, if at all, but there should be a lot in top cuts. It isn't too hard to go X-2 with it if you're good, the challenge is decking out a lot of experienced players and not losing on time.

:p thats probably becase only 1 person uses it consistently in the midwest(senors) :D

ZekEels is not overrated, it is very good. It's just not BDIF. Like people said though, if we had to choose, I think that might be it.

Truth Ex will also be a force to reckon with i've played against a good build. But out of courtesy i cant divulge what Exes were used.

Keep in mind that it's not really an accurate test until we've played at least 10 games. If we had only played the first two, the matchup would be 100-0 in favor of Reshiboar.

i think its more 50-50 depending on who gets the better hand, both are decent decks.

Robert why don't you want to disclose the info on what EXes were used? I'm very interested I play for fun but like to keep up with meta.

He doesn't have to if he doesn't want to. I'm not about to give away the "deepest darkest" secrets I've learned about the format.

If it were me, I'd be using Kyurem-EX, Regigigas-EX, Mewtwo-EX, Terrakion, and Cobalion as my attackers. The deck is weakening because more cards can OHKO everything and it needs to run more attackers to deal with all the threats. It's still viable though.

the truth ex is not my build so i dont think it is right for me to disclose it. it was an unexpected build and it was very thoughtful too. it went toe to toe with my deck. i won 6-5 in the prize race but he could have easily won too if he had the energy. with good decks its really luck of the draw.

a lot of players are playtesting builds in online games so anyone who want to get a grasp of the meta should try playing online.

awhile ago i saw a nice rogue deck....

The REV is definitely viable. SSU is nowhere near as useful anywhere else, so it really is a huge positive for reshiboar. I'm currently up 2-0 against another pb member (myself playing zekeels), and both games have been close. Opening hands are pretty important for both decks, but late game it seems that zekeels just has more control since it has a little bit more room for consistency/techs.

I have the cards necessary for both ZekEels and MagEels, which do you think would be better for States?
