States Predictions

Edit- Also, I've got to say. There's usually a reason rogue decks are rogue. It's because they're not as good as the meta decks.
Or they are rogue because not enough people can figure out how good it is, and even if they do they don't have the skill to pilot it?

:p

To my knowing, only a handful of people know how to actually use ReshiBoar (RobertBenjamin, Me, Rikko, and maybe 1 or 2 other people).

^Eels needs just as many Mewtwos as CTM does. Maybe the people in your area just hadn't gotten their Mewtwos yet? Regardless, the top players with the most devotion to the game will get Mewtwos. The reason the price is so high is because people buy it at the price it's at.

Not many ran many mewtwos at all. I agree people will get Mewtwos if they are really in to the game. I kind of thought that people may not have gotten Mewtwos yet, but I'm not sure.

Please tell me with a straight face that Reshiboar is harder to use than googlebox. If it's not, then it should catch on, even if it's hard to pilot. googlebox sure caught on.

Plus that's pretty cocky to assume that it hasn't caught on because you're better than everybody else. You really think that 90% of the top players in the world have dropped the deck because you can play it better than them?

googlebox is probably harder to play. This is probably harder to make a good list of. You have to find the perfect balances through lots of testing.

I never said that. I said that those are the only people that I know of that know how to play it the right way. Everybody else I know of plays it differently.

Isn't the above post still on subject, because he's talking about what he's running for states? Anyway, I feel anything with energy acceleration has the potential to do really well in states.

What's right for you might not be right for others and vice versa.

I think ZekEels and MTC will win States, from my testing ZekEels is more consistant than EelZone and does not fear Catcher as much.

I think most of us are in agreement that eel decks and cmt will dominate states.

as for reshiboar ex we all agree that it will see little play hence by percentage alone you wont see it winning a lot of states. however that doesnt mean that it isnt competitive.

thats pretty vague, seeing that nearly 3/4 of the format at least includes some type of energy acceleration. Reshiboar, Tyram, MEZ, ZekEels,MTC, Cake variants are all some sort of energy acceleration, unlike chandelure, durant, and 6 corners.

IMO that's the reason that 6 Corners isn't as strong as it once was. Sure it has an answer to everything, but every strong attack in that deck takes several energy. It's matchup against Electrode or Celebi is horrible, since you have the same attackers but less energy attachments per turn. Chandelure doesn't have as much a need for energy acceleration since it can do damage for 0 energy. Durant attacks for one energy, so doesn't need any energy acceleration. Plus, Durant can't be compared to any other deck since it has a totally different win condition and goal.

Exactly. I feel all of those decks have potential. Oh, and in response to above, take out virizion and add Celebi Prime.

MTC runs Virizion :p

the list that won ECC only had 4 celebi prime 4 tornadus 2 mewtwo prime and one shaymin

this enables you to place a lot of items and supporters making the deck consistent and full of gimmick items.

Most people that I know of have been splitting the Tornadus and Virizion counts. The guy that won said that he didn't want to use any techs, he just wanted max consistency, which is why there is no Terrakion.

Tornadus is a beast in MTC. Lol Mewtwo prime doesn't exist.

Yup...

Neither of us ever even used Reshiram/Zekrom. We literally just attacked with Mewtwo the entire time. Celebi would KO my Tepigs early game, so I had no energy acceleration and he did. I was completely relying on drawing into DCEs.

for those preparing for States, the ECC-winning deck list is out over here:
