Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U

Guys that is why you don't use the C stick for movement. Use the D-pad unless you need an angle movement then use the c stick. Also the c stick was not made for excessive pressure. You don't need to use a lot of pressure to use the c stick. It does not take much to move it around. Also don't push on the edge of the stick to move it. Put your thumb in the center and move it around that way. If you are Playing X/Y that is probably fine to do but not for smash because of all the movements.:)

Just like with all previous games, the C-stick is still movement and direction with the D pad being taunts. I highly doubt it will ever change.

You can do angles with the D-pad but it can be a bit tricky since you have press up left up right down left and down right to do angles on the D pad but it will be easier to do that then to use the stick and it does not break like the stick does.:)

D-Pads can break and jam easier. The problem is when people break their circle pads with smash, it's because they're slamming it in the direction they're going for like it's a controller's analog stick.

The character selection available in the demo is diverse, and that's a plus. Here's my own two cents on each character:

Mario: Pretty powerful guy. Strong aerial game, hard blows. Average-ish recovery, not bad in any way. Kinda disappointing Final Smash, but who depends on it anyway? Powerful grab and nice combos.

Link: Strong attacks and aerials, nice combos. However, quite slow. Side smash has a nice standard knockback, and spin attacks are excellent. Bombs suck, and arrows are a nice projectile, but not very strong. Recovery is horrible, the only thing you can do apart from the jump is an up smash, but that doesn't cover much distance.

Pikachu: Very fast, but also quite weak with hits. Lightning bolts hurt, but they're kinda difficult to land. Strong recovery. Ridiculous Final Smash-almost guaranteed KO if you play it properly, and destructive in FFA games.

Villager: CRAZY recovery, pockets are nice, and hard-hitting. However, slow, bad with combos and with horrible ranged game.

Mega Man: Too much projectile dependance. Not very fast, but not slow either. Rush provides some recovery, on par with if not better than Mario, definitely better than Link, not even close to Villager, a bit behind Pikachu. Hard-hitting.

How do you break the D pad? Never heard of this happening ever in my life?:)

My circle pad is kinda loose, can move around in circles while still (Can't really explain),it works well and I play lightly with it. It was already worn from doing the coin trick for XY. The D-pad is kinda loose, after extensive use while breeding. My regular 3ds which has been collecting dust may be used as a scapegoat for my non smash games. IMO, Smash is the very best on the XL. (Tried on friends regular 3ds too). Of course, a big TV is perfect for the Wii U :p

What is the coin trick? Do you mean the 360? That should not damage the stick. You guys are using too much force.and pressure when you play. It is not made for that type of force. My stick still works fine. You don't need too much effort to move the stick. Come on guys lighten up with the pressure. Know your own strength.:)

Enough with the D-Pad discussion people... if you want to talk about breaking or fixing buttons, head to the Technology Help thread in Misc. or discuss it among yourselves. I get how it is relevant to Smash, but that does not mean you can talk only about that.

Y'know what? After watching the Luigi Vs. Tails Death Battle, I want to see Luigi have some custom moveset utilizing the lightning bolts he can use from the thunder god. Maybe like an electric fireball and an electric Green Missile? Also, if the secret character through Wii U connection thing is real, I'd love to see Tails become one of the characters and make it so his grab is his projectile ring from that Tails' Flying Adventure(?) game, as well as some of his Sonic Battle items.

Unfortunately... the wii U sync rumor is false. Sakurai said in a interview (This is not exact but the message he was saying) "The reason Roy or Mewtwo were not in smash 4 was because we had to rip it from Melee, which is hard because of the games age." (yet, a certain melee character /had/ to be added). Hey, on the bright side we dont get Ridley!

> we had to rip it from Melee

I'm calling bs on this

also the reason Dr. Mario probably made it in is because if you got Mario and Dr. Mario naked in a room together they'd both be the same guy. Lot easier to reskin that than try to rebuild Roy or Mewtwo from the ground up

I'm not complaining because I love me some Doc but it is phenomenally stupid that he, Dark Pit, and Lucina are in this game.

I agree with more Sonic characters in Brawl it was pretty boring with Sonic alone in the previous Smash Bros game also I think more Pokemon characters too.

We've already been through this a million times in this thread... Sonic is a third party character, it's only natural that he's the only represantative of his series, and we already have many Pokemon. It's Smash Bros., not Pokemon Smash.

What do you guys mean by we had to rip it from Melee? That does not make any sense at all? He could have recreated the Pokemon and Roy with a completely different moveset. It does not take much to change a moveset to an updated character and moveset. Still does not make any sense but whatever.:(

I want to know something.

Did Brawl have "Competitive Tiers"? If so who were the best characters?

That's probably the case, but I wouldn't be surprised if Sakurai entertained the idea of possibly adding another Sonic rep before dropping that tangent.

But yeah, Sonic will probably be the only Sega rep. in the Smash series.

And he also said they had to build even all the models and animations from the ground up, so... :/ besides, he already said that just because he's working with Bandai Namco doesn't mean Pac-Man would be in and ended up basically "confirming" Pac-Man wasn't in just like how that interview he basically "confirmed" Mewtwo wasn't in. Knowing Sakurai, we can't say it's not true until the game is out.

Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Rosalina and Luma, Dr. Mario
Link, Toon Link, Zelda, Shiek, Ganondorf
Pikachu, Charizard, Lucario, Greninja, Jigglypuff
Marth, Ike, Robin, Lucina
Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede

Bowser Jr. alt. costumes of Larry, Roy, Iggy, Wendy, Ludwig, Lemmy, and Morton
I'm pretty sure adding one more pokemon character won't hurt. Besides, if having 6 characters from 1 series = it being that series fighting game, then this is Super Smash Mario with non Mario characters. It's even more like that with Wario, DK, and Yoshi originating from Mario, as well as Diddy coming from something related to Mario. That's, in a way, 10 or 11 Mario characters, unless you count alt. costumes making it 17 or 18. That is one half of my argument. The other being due to the large size of the roster, all (but the Mario series) can fit in another character, even two more for all but Pokémon as well.

As for Tails not being in because Sonic is 3rd party, I believe by now it's definitely safe to say he could be an acception and get 2 at most due to all his games on Nintendo Consoles since Gamecube excluding 4 of them, and with only 4 of the ones on Nintendo consoles appearing on other ones, leaving about 10 or 12 exclusive to Nintendo consoles. Mega Man and Pac-Man have never had so much Nintendo.

Ugh, no idea why my post didnt post. Heres my source for the Mewtwo being deconfirmed. http://www.zeldainformer.com/news/sakurai-provides-more-insight-into-smash-bros-development#.VCSjIfldWBY

Its a shame, but what can you do? I used Rip incorrectly there, my bad for the confusion. I am not complaining.Sakurai put lots of hard work into this game, with a broken hand, he must have been in constant hell, sakurai is a great man who really cares. God bless him.

(No idea why the top is spaced so weirdly either)
