RE: TCG Discussion

"Restored" Pokémon is, I believe, the new term used for Pokémon restored from fossils using the new fossil mechanic.

I'm very interested in foreign merchandise.... but your link brings me to a 404 page. It has an ellipses in the middle cutting off part of the link.

RE: TCG Discussion

To get to that page, go to the Trade Corner, an it's a stickied thread.

Corrected. Hope to see your post there.

Anyone with code from the reshiram/zekrom boxes? What does the code give you?

The code gives you a the promo card for your tcg collection and the repective figure for your avatar.

RE: TCG Discussion

Dumb Japanese TCG questions.

I recently ordered a booster box set of the new Hail Blizzard & Psycho Drive sets. When I did, I noticed that the packs come with 5 cards in a pack instead of the 10 that's standard in English packs. What's the common/uncommon/rare distribution with the smaller packs?

Also, the last time I bought Japanese packs (which was, admittedly, back in the Gym Set days), the Japanese packs were more in line with the English packs. When was the change made? It's not a change I particularly mind (since it seems like you'd be less likely to end up with tonnes of commons like you do buying English packs), but I am curious about it.

RE: TCG Discussion

This change was made quite a while ago now, with the Lost Link sub-set being the first run to test the pack ratios, and BW1 Black/White Collection(s) saw it put in place permanently for full sets until further notice. It's roughly: 1 holo per 3 packs; with 1 SR per 2 boxes, 1 UR per 5 boxes. Uncommon cards are the hardest to usually complete since you often only snag 1-2 per pack depending on if you get a rare or no, but depending on the set size you'll often pull 99-100% full set disregarding SR/UR cards.

But yeah, it means the boxes are quite cheap now vs. what they used to be (two boxes imported used to run me upwards of $150 since boxes were so expensive as a whole; now I can buy 4 and a bit for that) and you have less spare fodder to either a) try to sell or b) be stuck storing. Huzzah.

RE: TCG Discussion

Awesome, thanks for the info. I'm really looking forward to the cards coming in. I don't really mind having tonnes of commons floating around, but they do take up space. :p

RE: TCG Discussion

According to viper.fox, the Reshiram and Zekrom boxes don't come out until the 21st. But at our local gaming shop, they came out a week ago. Was Pokemon.com wrong about the release date?

RE: TCG Discussion

Do you mean the ones with the EXs?

I know the Zekrom and Reshiram with the alternative art are out.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but anyway...
Derp question:
For the tcg could you tell me about dice, like how transparent they have to be, how many roughly I will need etc.

RE: TCG Discussion

There aren't any dice used in the Pokémon TCG. All you need aside from your decks are a coin to flip and some way to keep track of damage and special conditions. A cardboard set of damage and condition counters comes with every theme deck and also the starter decks, and Pokémon-themed coins can also be found in many blister sets of packs.

When flipping a coin for an attack, or to see who's first, the die must be transparent. (or translucent, I think),

During league play, you can use any kind of dice. During tournament play, the dice need to be see-through transparent and they need to have rounded edges. I'd recommend 15+ dice.

They are used as coins and damage counters for most people.
