RE: TCG ONE - full featured online pokemon tcg simulator [CAREER MODE Live]

I have also been playing this simulator for months. The gameplay is simple and straight forward. As recent as 5 days ago, career mode has been added and has truly fulfilled my nostalgic needs for pokemon.

Mainly, the booster opening sequences are what we all love. Just as we collected money as kids, you earn in-game currency, save up, and purchase your choice of booster between Base/Jungle/Fossil/Rocket. All ten cards in the booster back are face down and with each click you turn a card over in whatever order you choose (Rares on top left). For those who are picky about this experience will complain about there only being 10 cards when it should be 11, but really, its just the picky.

As far as energies found in packs, they are more scarce than they should. I often times get no energies. I actually have NO problem with the energies being scarce, as long as at least one comes in a pack. Reason being, the "Market" feature allows all users to sell any cards they choose that they "own" in their respective inventory. THIS is why I love career mode If a new deck is to be made, you just have to buy from the market. It keeps the biggest part of pokemon TCG alive, **TRADING**. If you need energies ask somebody, if you are not using a type of energy, just sell them. Broken and over used cards will be less accessible this way.

One thing that needs to be looked at, is the inventory of the people who have high points is obviously much larger than those who are just starting. Their decks have many upgraded cards (gust, energy removal, computer search, and better pokemon). I am on of those players with a lot of points. I beat just about everybody I play and its almost always due to the lack of cards my opponent has. Not sure how to address the situation or the work needed to fix it. There is an idea out there that has been practiced in gaming forever though, and that is to decrease the amount of points earned by higher level players (ie. instead of the high level player earning 30 for win over his outmatched opponent, how about 15 win points). Or each level decreases points earned by 2? I have talked to the admin of the site about it, and he is looking into it, though he said it is a complicated situatioin. I have faith in him though.

Really, if you loved the old school pokemon and battling, there is NO reason you shouldnt be on this site. You are missing out!!

This is amazing, the idea behind this is genious and the way its been put together is astounding. I love the old sets but would like you too keep updating all the way to the current sets. Keep up the good work!

I've been playing this game for a long time, and I'd like to just say thanks to the developers for their hard work in making this excellent simulator. Career mode is looking very promising and I can't wait to see what else comes of it in the future.

I have a few suggestions in order to help make the simulator play precisely like the actual game.
Please excuse me if these changes have already been made, or if these suggestions have already been presented ad nauseam.

1. Kabuto's Pokémon Power doesn't work. A Kabuto unaffected by any Special Conditions was unable to half the damage caused by my attacks.

2. Conversely, Kabutops still has Kabuto Armor, except it's actually functional. Every attack I landed on it did half the damage it was supposed to.

3. Omanyte's Pokémon Power still works even if it has been Knocked Out. This seems to be a theme; are all Powers glitched like this?

4. The timers ought to be more prominent. Maybe make their font larger, and make them turn red when running short on time.

5. The starter decks, while fine, are too overpowering for one another. Shadow Spore obliterates Fossil Force, Revenge obliterates Shadow Spore. Each deck should be able to reliably counter one another under a reasonably skilled hand, in my opinion. The popular deck appears to be Revenge, and I get destroyed by these players every single time, and there's nothing I can really do.

6. There really should be a reliable and easy way to obtain Energy cards. Heck, make it so everyone has an infinite supply in their deck builder. There's really no reason I should have to even search for Energy cards at all, when they are the fundamental building blocks for the entire game, without which I can't use the actual cards I just received from a booster pack.

7. My friend pointed this one out. While he's choosing a Pokémon to switch to, my timer goes down. He could literally sit there and make me lose by default, if he so chose.

8. This one is difficult to ameliorate, but needs to be brought attention to. The current join/create system we have makes it easy for people to boost, or have two accounts with which you can repeatedly forfeit again and again just to receive points. I propose that any game forfeited will yield no points. Indeed, I think rage-quitters ought to lose points.

9. Couldn't you stop in the middle of the game, keep a code key or something, come back, paste the code, and resume play at one point? I've never taken advantage of that, myself, but I don't even see it as an option anymore.

10. The error screen. Remove the My Little Pony. Apart from it associating this simulator with one of the most insufferable fanbases in all of the Internet, it just doesn't have anything to do with Pokémon in the first place.

If you need more details about any of my trifles, just ask. I keep a log of every single one of my duels.
Thanks again.

1-3 are being examined.
4. Put on list.
5. Picking starter decks are hard. I'd like to have more deck suggestions. 3 is not a limit.
6. I'm planning to add energy packs for a lower price.
7. Time passed while you're waiting for your opponent's action is returned to you when your opponent responds. For example if your opponent took 15 seconds to respond, your timers will have +15 seconds after he responds (this happens silently so you need to look closer at timer values to notice). That indicator doesnt stop rolling, its a technical difficulty.
8. I cant stop this atm. In every online pvp game there is a chance of forfeit. If more players were playing I'd implement a queuing system where players are matched by their skill level.
9. What you're asking is technically not possible. Game key feature was dropped because it wasnt used much, it was causing confusion amongst users and technically it was becoming a problem.
10. Its actually this site's (host) error page, If it was me, I'd put a h1 'error', that's it.

System also keeps all played games saved for future reference and bug fixing. I can lookup your game if you could give me exact time and/or your opponent.

Thanks for your valuable post. Contributions (idea, feature, bug, etc) are always welcomed.

RE: TCG ONE - full featured online pokemon tcg simulator [CAREER MODE Live]

I've been playing this quite a bit and I really like it. I've wanted a place to play the old cards for a long time.

Anyway, there are two issues I've come across:

1. When Jungle Eevee's Tail Wag gets a heads flip when I use it, I'm unable to attach any Energy to my Pokemon during the next turn. Edit to this: Someone landed it against me. They could attach but I couldn't. Something weird is going on when Tail Wag is used when I'm playing.
2. If two Dark Jolteon face each other some issues can happen. If one Dark Jolteon is under the influence of the other's Lightning Flash, it needs to flip like it should. If it succeeds, however, neither Jolteon will need to flip for Lightning Flash against each other anymore.

Also, this isn't even a huge deal but it might be interesting to be able to buy some of the old theme decks. It would be a good way to get some extra Energy and some of the cheaper staples.

Be warned though, the Base Hitmonchan deck is one of the most OP theme decks ever made. That thing is ridiculous.

We don't have to include all of them if they're too strong. There was one with Wigglytuff too. That being said, the ones with some useful but not OP cards (Power Reserve with Kangaskhan comes to mind) would be interesting.

1-2 will be investigated.
Deck buying is actually implemented but I havent made up my mind for the prices. Do you have an idea about it?

We can simply sell OP decks for a higher price.

RE: TCG ONE - full featured online pokemon tcg simulator [CAREER MODE Live]

Suggestion,
Make it so you can see the trainer card that the other player is playing/has played? Sometimes I've played people, and they use trainer cards I'm unfamiliar with, and the effect just happens.

Edit: Also if it would ever be possible to play against a computer player, that'd be awesome. There have been times when there's no one online, and I can't do career mode/quickplay. ;_;

Well I see you put some up and they're actually not far off from the prices I came up with when I looked through what was in them. Here's what I came up with:

Overgrowth: 675
Zap!: 700
Brushfire: 650
Blackout: 925

Water Blast: 425
Power Reserve: 575

BodyGuard: 725
Lockdown: 925

Grass Chopper: 575
Hot Water: 525
Lightning Bug: 525
Psych Out: 925

Devastation: 600
Trouble: 650

The last two are the Team Rocket decks, which had 59 and 61 cards respectively. I'm not sure how much that would screw up selling them as a deck in the store, or maybe one card can be moved from Trouble to Devastation to make up for it, as I can't imagine that they'd intentionally have it one card off. If you do end up needing to move one I'd suggest moving a Meowth over, as it's not like Trouble uses Dark Persian and the decks have a Team Rocket theme so both having a Meowth would make sense.

The Wigglytuff deck was pretty harmless, aside from the Wigglytuff. The Hitmonchan deck had Hitmonchan, a full set of Energy Removal, and a SER, not to mention that half of the basics were Machop and Staryu. I play preconstructed Base-Rocket at my local league sometimes. That's the only deck from those sets, including base 2, that completely dominates the format.

Hey, speaking of which, do you think we can have some kind of mode that gives both players random theme decks?

RE: TCG ONE - full featured online pokemon tcg simulator [CAREER MODE Live]

Another small suggestion: Change Player A/Player B to the actual usernames, it would just make more sense.

This would be SUCH a cool idea. It's kinda like a Nuzlocke for the TCG haha.

RE: TCG ONE - full featured online pokemon tcg simulator [CAREER MODE Live]

Mysterious Fossil counts as a Basic Pokemon in ways that it shouldn't, such as being able to start the game with it.

Also, is there something wrong with the way Exeggutor's attack works? I've seen it flip all tails on 3-6(!) flips more times than probable.

RE: TCG ONE - full featured online pokemon tcg simulator [CAREER MODE Live]

Timer needs fixing, when their turn timer hits 0 it doesn't do anything. They should lose the match there.

Points awarded needs massively fixing. I've had it before where I win the game yet the opponent gets more bits as he took more prizes. Minimum bits if you win just by donking first turn should be around 30, not 15 as it is now imo.

Someone brought up energy packs before but I'll just add my thoughts that 15 bits for an energy seems fair.

Sorting the market would be very helpful. Stores packs and theme decks at the top then list of available cards sorted by sets and number so it's easy to find a card you want. If someone is selling the same card as someone but cheaper it would be nice to remove the other card until the cheaper one has been sold.

RE: TCG ONE - full featured online pokemon tcg simulator [CAREER MODE Live]

Base Electrode, after being discarded via Energy Removal, should revert to counting as a Pokemon. Nightly Garbage Run won't work on it if discarded in that way and it should.

RE: TCG ONE - full featured online pokemon tcg simulator [CAREER MODE Live]

Any plans for career mode promos? Psychic is kind of hurting without Mewtwo.

it would be very cool but Ai is the hardest thing i can think of right now :)

I am thinking about tournament support for the future. It will also include a booster draft mode so it will be close to what you are suggesting.

In EX series fossils are allowed as basics at gamestart but not before that. I am stuck with the ruling confusion here.
Coin flips are pretty random they can ever be, sorry for bad luck :(

After timer is out the action is taken in 10 seconds(technical difficulty) , however if you think you've waited more than 10secs, please ping me again.
First turn donking could be used to exploit, so i put some measurements to encounter that.
15 bits for a pack you mean?
Market filtering and sorting will be soon implemented

Yes it needs fixing. I assumed it was an unusual case so i left that out :p

I plan promo cards for achievement rewards.

Is it really impossible to fix? I mean, Clefairy Doll works okay and the EX version of Mysterious Fossil already runs on different mechanics (that printing is a colorless Pokemon, while the fossil printing isn't).

Fossil decks are nearly unplayable due to how often they're donked with this ruling.
