What is a slime? Never seen one. New mob?

They are green cubes that spawn extremely rarely on layers 1-16. I"ve only seen one, and I play MC a lot, so thats how rare they are. They've been in the game for a while though. Check out the wiki page for more.

I think so. They have an announcement about the groups coming up, so we should wait for that before jumping to too many conclusions.

However, if this does get closed, we could just commune in an Off-Topic thread.

Okay, while messing around I found a tiny slime. I trapped it, but got shot into lava by a skeleton. WHen I returned to the enclosure, the slime was gone O_O What should I do? Will more slimes spawn?

It probably despawned. This is normal for mobs. When the chunk the mob was in has unloaded, all mobs dissapear in that area. A new set of mobs will spawn again when you enter the chunk again.

Ever seen one of those "wholes" in the game? Thats a chunk error and that is how the game works. It olny opens the chuncks you can see so if it's not open all mobs will despawn.
