The Next Rotation

Yeah, it sucks that Landorus is going, but I think Lucario is going to be its replacement. 90 for 1 Strong Energy + Muscle Band + New Fighting Stadium to an Yveltal? Yes please.

Plus his second attack can do 120 and fill you hand to 6 :)

But on topic yeah I agree with most of the remarks that it will be pls-on simply because they have replaced the staples that need to be in the format (N, skyla, juniper ect) if they keep BDC in format I would be exceptionally surprised.

Lucario EX would be great to run for the 2nd attack to refill your hand but Mewtwo EX is still a thing and so is Deoxys EX in Yeti. I just don't see how it will hold up with the x2 Psychic weakness when there's other playable Fighting Types with better weaknesses such as Dugtrio with Grass and Landorus EX with Water.

But that's what we where discussing if the rotation does end up being pls-on then landorus is rotated as well. Yes mewtwo will be a thing but it will just be another format of mewtwo wars. :) I don't lucario is going to be BDIF but it will be at least a fun deck/card.

If Landorus does happen to stay, I imagine it will be pretty heavily played. Turn 1 with the right cards can be pretty scary. 30 base damage, + 20 with muscle band, + 20 with strong energy, and + 20 with fighting stadium against a darkrai ex can hit for 90, 180 with weakness with 30 bench damage.

Either way I kind of hope skyla stays around for a bit longer.

I wish they would do xy-on, but since I know thats not going to happen I'm hoping for plasma storm-on

I honesty don't think Landorus would get played if it stayed around considering how much better lucario EX's second and third attack are. I would rather play that instead of Landorus EX. 30 bench isn't what it used to be.

You could run both of them with Garbodor since none of them have abilities and Garbotoxin still hurts several other decks. With all the support cards Landuros Ex would be akin to Darkrai Ex with a much lower cost. It also has a rather uncommon weakness.

BW- On Format Discussion

There is an upcoming new format called the BW-On format, of which includes the Black and White, Emerging Powers, and Noble Victories sets as well as the Next Destinies to the Rising Fist sets. There are 2 main decks that should see some major play in this format:
RayEels
Klinklang
How will these (and any other decks you think will be good for the format) NEW decks be impacted by the cards from Plasma Freeze-Flashfire (sets not with BW-NVI) and will they be still be as good?

RE: BW- On format Discussion

Wait what? Please go more in depth into this. They are creating a second format, which will feature all cards BW on? If so, this is uber! This is the best idea PTCi has had all year!

Quote from Pokemon back in July:

A New Format for 2015

In addition to announcing our 2014 rotation, we are also pleased to give players a sneak peek at one of the changes that they will see after next year’s expansion rotation.

Starting in late 2014, a new TCG format will be joining the familiar Modified format as a legal option for sanctioned Pokémon events of all sizes. Because this new format will allow players to use all sets from Black & White on, players will have even more options when designing a winning deck!

We will provide more details as we near the end of the 2014 tournament season!

Yeah 60 for 2 Fighting (80 with Muscle Band attached) that refills your hand is almost too good not to pass up since it eases pressure on having to rely on draw supporters that makes for better supporter plays such as using Lysandre to draw prizes more efficiently. Tropical Beach helped ease our reliance on draw supporters but for those that have to go Beachless you're stuck having to use them most of the time unless you run Bicycle and Roller Skates, one of which requires a coin flip which I suppose is as playable as Super Scoop Up was when it was tournament legal.

I also don't see the need for Fighting Stadium since it's easily countered by Beach and Virbank being the most popular Stadiums in the format. Strong Energy would be great for Lucario EX and other Fighting Types except that you're most likely better off using Professor's Letter to get your Fighting energies out more efficiently, plus it's also a good target for Korrina since you can search your deck for any Fighting Type Pokemon while getting 2 Fighting energy to boot. At this point I don't care If Skyla stays in next season or not since I find Korrina to be better on certain aspects despite not getting a draw supporter or Lysandre next turn.

Oh.My.God! YESSSSSSSS! OMG YES!!!!! POKEMON YES!!!!!!! Poke Co has finally done it!!!!! YESSSSSS! Oh my god! I'm so happy! This brings back so many deck! Zeels, RayEels, Klinklang, Durant, and Chandelure! This is fantastic news!

RE: BW- On format Discussion

1. This is old news.
2. Tropical Beach being legal in this format makes Standard/Modified more appealing.
3. It will add as much power creep as Unlimited format thus making it unfun.

1. This is old news... but it is far more relevant now than it months ago.
2. Tropical beach is kind of needed for some of these decks, but so many rayeels and Klinklang decks ran Skyarrow bridge over tropical beach for the free retreat (skyarrow over beach got me top 64 in Nationals last year...) that it isn't necessarily needed.
3. The power creep is nothing new. Big EX's will still be around at least for the duration of the XY formats and will be around even in the BW formats. I disagree that this makes it unfun, let alone more fun to work with 13-14 sets (18 before next rotation) for a format! Yes Unlimited has all of the formats, but those cards are less accessible and are just as valuable to today's EX's.

RE: BW- On format Discussion

This new format will still be more fun than modified! I'd love to see how decks like Klinklang and Zeels stand up to current decks like ViriGen, and Yveltal. Plus cards like Durant and Chandelure will be fun plays.

Would they really only rotate two sets? They could ban Garbodor if it becomes an issue couldn't they? I'm thinking Plasma Storm on, just because Boundaries Crossed was a whole Generation ago.

Hehe, well first of all, if they rotated to BCR-on, it would be three sets that would be gone, Next Destines, Dark Explorers, and Dragons Exalted. Second, Garbodor REALLY isn't that big of a deal, especially with Lysandre in format. Third, not quite sure what you mean about Boundaries Crossed being a whole generation ago, as it was the first B2/W2-based games, and Plasma Storm is still in the same generation.
