BW/BW2 The Nuzlocke Challenge Thread

Well, I finally got an emulator of White working, and I'm doing a blind run Nuzlocke of it. My rules are basic, the 3 normal rules, and I'll box everything that dies so I can keep track. Wish me luck! I also have no idea how to read Japanese, and trhe only thing I can recognize is Milotic, and I'm going to use as little outside resources as possible. Its gonna be fun.

Team so far: Lv6 Snivy (SERPY)
Lv4 Lillipup (WOOFY) I'm happy I ran into him as a first Pokemon :D

i guess i will do an oficial update (remember im not creative so my nicknames suck lol)
FLUTTER (staravia) lvl 28
USELESS (dustox) lvl 26
HARDBOILED (togepi) lvl 7

im playing platinum and am in the third gym (hearthome) the only thing getting me through is dustox psybeam and even then....aftermath from drifloons is dangerous.

R.I.P
BLOOMER (budew) (one of the many poke lost to jupiters skuntank (its jupiter right? woah....parenthesis in parenthesis))
BIDOOFIS (obviously its starly lol no its bidoof) (lost when grinding....only 2 poke after catching him lol)
CHOPPA (machop) (lost to jupiter skuntank)
CHIMCHAR (i couldnt think of one for him...he just so unoriginal :p) (lost to jupiters skuntank.)
im probably forgetting one or two....obviously because they were of no help

lol....i can use psybeam, gust, tackle, poison sting....not much choice lol. also staravia is a bit better but aerial ace is the best its got.

I think I'm going to start on my Pearl. A few questions though:

Do you have to follow the additional rules?

Can you use a Pokemon Center to use the PC? If so, does it count as "You may only use a Pokemon Center once?"

This is on a Silver ROM. I will be grinding EVERYTHING in my party until it is about 5 levels above the GL.

My Rules!!!

- Any Pokémon that faints is considered dead, and must be PERMANENTLY BOXED.
- I must catch the FIRST Pokemon in each area, UNLESS I already have caught it as my 1 pokemon per route
- All pokemon MUST be nicknamed
- Considering a black out/white out to be "game over," even if there are Pokémon left in the PC.
- Limiting Pokémon Center visits to a certain number per town. 2
- I MAY use more PokeCenters, but I must pay a $400 Fine each time (Discard 2 PokeBalls)
- Rather than releasing the Pokémon, it can be migrated or permanently boxed should it happen to faint.
- Legendaries may be caught (For use after the Nuzlocke), BUT must be PERMANENTLY Boxed!
- Pokemon presented to me in the storyline MAY be used, and WILL NOT Count as my pokemon for that route (Eg. Lake of Rage G-dos)

Kinda forgot to post an update, but here I am whilst I do homework. I beat the first gym with nearly no problems. However, the Nosepass trapped Slacker, and yeah... Bye bye him. Lotad cleaned up though. In between training and the gym, I picked up little mr. Tweety. Here's my team right now.

Honestly, the eighth gym leader in Emerald isn't hard with just Blaziken. I did it about a year ago when my Blaziken was about leval 60. The trick is to know the puzzle, that way you don't have to waste time on the trainers.

But really, most people who say Pokemon Emerald is hard with Blaziken just whine because they exaggerate. Just because water resist fire doesn't mean you should use a fire type move, it means you should either use your other STAB (if you have a second type that isn't resisted), a neutral move, or a super-effective move. Btw, hope I gave you some advice, Joey. ;]

And just as a side-note, don't use Gyarados in anything 3rd gen to 1st gen. It has the worst possible movepool with almost no 'good' and 'early' physical moves, and you can't run anything on that pathetic Sp. Atk. And people often spend forever trying to level a Migikarp into a Gyarados, which is absolutely wasteful and dangerous. Seriously, Gyarados sucks in casual play. Forgive me, dmaster. I speak the truth. D: Good in VG, bad in RBY to ADV casual.

On my challenge, I'm still grinding. I'll probably challenge baldy later. >;3

What was that TDL? I didn't hear you: http://pokebeach.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=92642&pid=1827580#pid1827580

Oh yeah, he single handed defeated the Champion. Terrrrrrrible Poke. Edit: Unless you count HG/SS as 4th Gen, I guess that's understandable but still.

Yoshidude10, you don't have to follow any additional Rules if you don't want to. You definitely need the big two (catching only the first Pokemon seen in a Route and releasing/boxing a Pokemon when it dies). Anything else you can put on yourself to make it harder, but it's not necessary.

dmaster out.

@TDL: Gyarados is epic, don't rip on it!
On Topic: I'm sitting outside the Rusturf Tunnel right now. I'll play later today for the second gym.

lolololololol I count HG/SS as 4th Gen. I'm just saying that Gyarados had a bad physical movepool before the physical/special split in Generation Four. Don't mean to offend, but when all but two of your level up moves in ADV generation are special, and you have a SAtk of 60, it's honestly not something I'd really want to spend my time on if I was playing anything not Generation Four.

I know a lot of Pokemon that need TMs to be good because their movepool isn't the best *coughempoleoncough*

dmaster out.

Wow... Really odd glitch just happened. I wasn't able to post for a bit. Anyways, I was going to ask a question: What level should I get to before I face May again with my pokemon?
