The Official NBA Thread

Kobe is hungry for his 5th cookie. Gasol wants another ring. Fischer won't lose at home again.

We got this.

What a game.. My heart was pounding so much. Fischer hit that big three to tie it up and the rest was history. Big props to Artest and Gasol who held the team together while Kobe found himself late in the 4th.

16 titles. 5 rings for Kobe and Fischer. 11 for Jackson. Great great franchise.

No, just no. John Wall is the clear choice, and Washington management has already voiced that they will be selecting him. The difference between the picks in Favors and Turner is very slim. Both of them are inter-changable 2nd and 3rd picks. John Wall is projected to go 1st on almost all draft boards, and rightfully so. Why would they select Turner just because Wall is considered the number one pick...

And even if they were going to select Turner, they'd trade the pick instead of just drafting Turner at number one, since no one is stupid enough to pass on Wall.

Wall may not have upside? That was almost laughable. There's a reason he's projected number one on every mock draft. He's projected to be very, very good.

There is no way that Cousins goes in the top 3. There are way too many question marks, and his weight is beginning to be an issue for a lot of GMs. It is also projected on a lot of mock drafts that Cousins could even fall to number seven, my team, the Detroit Pistons.

A lot of your reasoning is based on the fact that a few number ones have gone a bust. However, in no way do previous picks and results have any inclination on success from THIS draft, especially given the fact that your betting against the odds.

I may seem a little harsh, as it wasn't the intent, but there is no way that Turner goes ahead of Wall.

Just noticed this post lol. Yeah, he just hates Philly teams, hence the "Draft Evan Turner and screw Philly over."

I'm pretty happy my Pistons came out of the draft with Greg Monroe. Thank you Golden State for being stupid.

Our second round pick of White I'm not sure about, but apparently he was considered a lottery pick last year and a 15-30 first round pick this year.

Overall, I'd say we did pretty good this draft, and apparently all the draft graders seem to think so also.

Suns got two late second round picks and chose to play the "what if Amar'e leaves" card and draft two athletic power forwards. Hopefully the last move of Steve Kerr will impact the Suns in a good way.

OKC had a really good draft. They ended up getting the guy they wanted, Cole Aldrich, from New Orleans and traded the rights of Eric Bledsoe to Los Angeles (Clippers). And, with the Clippers' seeming to be represented in every Draft Lottery, Oklahoma City can get a high pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.

Okay, I'm just gonna bump this, because the Lebron hysteria has started.

Some idiot leaked information that the Bulls "could" sign three max free agents (Bosh, Lebron, and Wade), while keeping Noah and Rose. However, the way they structured getting to that point is really unrealistic. Currently, they can't even sign two max free agents.

Amare is about to sign a huge contract with the Knicks, and supposedly, he's trying to convince Tony Parker to play with him there.

A ton of Chris Paul trade rumors have been circling, but nothing concrete has enticed the Hornets yet.

Drew Gooden also signed a large contract (a bit over the MLE), so guys like Haywood etc. will easily get larger contracts as the larger names start coming off the table.

I think I got all the recent news, but I'm sure I'm missing something.

Well since the Suns might start to suck because $arver is so cheap.. Here are the recent Suns transactions

Channing Frye resigns with five year 30M USD contract (my God that is so overpaid)
Hakim Warrick signs with the Suns for a four year 18M USD contract (is Warrick good?)

For the Lakers, they signed Steve Blake for a four year 16M USD contract.

Phil and Doc are back in coaching and Byron Scott is new Cavs coach

Also LL, signing LeBron, Wade and Bosh is ridiculous depth-wise especially if money isn't on your side.

It doesn't matter how much depth you have. With a lineup of Rose/Wade/Lebron/Bosh/Noah, you'll win most games. That starting lineup will blow most teams out.

Minutes would play a role and barely has a team made it the whole year without injuries lol. Titles won't be won with just five players. The only time I would see those three play together (and actually work) is if they would put their greed aside and get less salary for the benefit of getting rings.

Add the fact that the Bulls have no chance of pulling it off. The team who was most rumored to pull that off was Miami.

Those three big name players (James, Wade and Bosh) cannot coexist together in Chicago. Sure, it's sounds nice, but it's only a pipe dream. It won't happen. Chicago might get 2 max guys, 1 max guy, or be left on the outside looking in.

The person who leaked it actually devised the whole plan - and it works, three max contracts. The problem is putting it to action.

Amar'e has signed with the Knicks, rumors are that they are trying to get Parker or Arenas, if they do not get Lebron James.

Trading for Arenas probably wouldn't be that hard. Word is that they were shopping him awhile ago, but didn't get any good offers.

The Heat just got hotter, ESPN reports that Bosh and Wade have signed with them, and Lebron will announce who he will sign with on Thursday during a one hour special on ESPN at 6PM PDT

We are now getting answers on where everyone is going.
