But in an artifact deck you're playing artifacts anyway, though I see your point.

Why does monocolor infect not work? Just curious.

Yes you play artifacts anyway, but you still need to pay mana to get 3 of them out (unless you went with some wacky W/G Tempered Steel variant that uses Memnite's and a bunch of free artifacts - I don't reccommend it by the way).

Monocoloured Infect works in Black or Green, but Red and Blue are just too weak on their own. What blue creatures do you play in a mono-blue Infect deck?

4 Blighted Agent

Viral Drake is too mana intensive, and Chained Throatseeker is expensive and can become a dead card easily. What does Blue have that black doesn't? Blighted Agent is only slightly better than Plague Stinger. Black can play Plague Stinger, Phyrexian Crusader, Hand of the Praetors, Skithiryx, Go For the Throat and discard spells like Inquisition of Kozilek and Despise. Blue has Blighted Agent and that semi-powerful counterspell. Mana Leak if you want to run that.

I think Blue/Black would be fun. Run the same sort of style as Black/Red Vampires.

4 Drowned Catacomb
4 Darkslick Shores
4 Inkmoth Nexus
12 Swamp

4 Blighted Agent
3 Necropede/Ichorclaw Myr
4 Phyrexian Crusader
3 Whispering Specter
2 Hand of the Praetors
2 Skithiryx

3 Mutagenic Growth
4 Despise
3 Infect counterspell (I forget the name)/Mana Leak
3 Go For the Throat/Doom Blade
3 Tezzeret's Gambit
2 Lashwrithe

Or something along those lines.

Looks good, much better than the deck I had, which could only be described as aggro infect (lolwut).

Despise will be great in M12 Standard. Nearly every deck that doesn't run Infect or Tempered Steel runs a Planeswalker.

Well at the booster draft yesterday it was kind of bad.....

I almost had another Jace but the dad of this one kid took it just so i couldn't have it. Then at the end when the prizes were to be handed out they were gone. The place is not a FNM place we just play and the rare in the 3rd pack goes for prize support. All 6/7 cards were gone. In the end i won 1 game out of the 3 i played. I got a Frost Titan which was quite nice. I played blue/red with some green. Grabbed a little help for my normal deck which was cool.

Are you kidding? Jace is worth $30, you can't blame him for taking it. Frost Titan's cool, and 1 win is better than none. Good job!

Ok, so after extensive testing with about 5 different decks (proxied and through Cockatrice), the deck I am going to buy is going to be Tempered Steel. Here's my final list:

4x Memnite
4x Signal Pest
4x Glint Hawk
4x Vault Skirge
4x Porcelain Legionnaire
4x Etched Champion
2x Hero of Bladehold

4x Dispatch
4x Glint Hawk Idol
4x Tempered Steel
2x Elspeth Tirel

16x Plains
2x Contested War Zone

Sideboard:

2x Indomitable Archangel
3x Celestial Purge
3x Shrine of Loyal Legions
2x Chimeric Mass
2x Contested War Zone
2x Empty Spots

The person who said I should take Glint Hawk out of my Tempered Steel deck is running 4 of them. Lol. XD

Yes. I originally didn't have them, but both Solemn Simulacrum and Chimeric Mass weren't testing well, so I cut them for the Hawks. If you prefer them, I'd cut the Chimeric Masses for them.

I thought about running Solem Simulacrum, but if you already have the 4 available mana to pay for him you can play 2 or 3 creatures that turn anyway, so grabbing a land really isn't that useful. He really just slows the deck down, unless you're finding yourself never drawing lands. Chimeric Mass slows the deck down at times, and if you play the rest of the deck well you shouldn't need him. That's just from my experience though.

Glint Hawk's effect is a little counterproductive, but with Tempered Steel out, it's worth it for a 4/4 Flying creature that only cost you a single mana.

My two cents. :3

I'm trying to think of a new post rotation deck to make... I'll take a peek at the M12 spoilers to get some ideas.

Yes, that's what I found. Except Glint Hawk is a white creature, he doesn't get the boost from Tempered Steel, only the Idol does.

Right, I keep forgetting that. ^^;

Oh well, a 2/2 Flying Creature that costs one isn't bad either.

It's even better with both Memnite and Ornithopter, but if I don't have Memnite I just hold it in my hand until I get one.

Funny thing, I have never drawn a Memnite from my Tempered Steel deck on Cockatrice. Then one game nearly all the cards I drew were Plains. Lol.

How many lands do you run? I would run either 18 Plains or 16 Plains and 4 Contested War Zone, otherwise you'll get flooded.

Only thing is War Zone is bad against decks like Vampires and Mono-Red.

Also... I just randomly fell in love with the old Jund deck from Shards/Zendikar Standard... Putrid Leech, Sprouting Thrinax, Bloodbraid Elf... *sigh*

One month until rotation =O

What are the best White decks currently (post rotation M12 Standard)?

Actually Innistrad comes out September 30th, which is when the rotation happens, so it's two months.

The best White decks after the rotation (barring Innistrad) will probably be Tempered Steel, Puresteel Paladin, and any other White Weenie variants.

I'm looking forward to Innistrad so much... although it will make my $80 Vampire deck practically worthless... I'm scrambling to sell the parts as it is. No one wants to buy now though, obviously.
