The PokeBeach Thread of Mucus...err-Music

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

I really like anything from the YT Channel UFK Drum & Bass

(i think i'm the only one)

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

I'm SO happy that iTunes finally released Beatle's music. It's about time- I already have a few albums but it's nice that I can now pick at the albums and find songs that I don't have yet.

In other news, I'm extremely let down by The Black Eyed Peas's new material from their album, The Beginning. Their lead single, The Time, sounds like it was put together in around an hour, while Do it Like This is absolutely terrible. At least I still have Kid Cudi's album to listen to and Gorillaz's new single, Doncamatic to look forward to for digital release!

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

^Is "Doncamatic" any good; because I was very dissapointed with Plastic Beach and that song doesn't sound familiar to me?
The Offspring has officially made it to my list of my favorite bands of all time.

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

Ahh, here it is, Shadow Arceus, Doncamatic by the Gorillaz: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwKcXfUmLkk

It's a great song, imo. I, for one, loved Plastic Beach, because what Gorillaz is attempting is variety. Each song is highly unique in its own way. Doncamatic has a bit of an electronic-rock base to it, and I think it works. It's very interesting. As of now, it's not planned for any specific album (Edit 2: Sorry, it was recently added to the re-release of Plastic Beach on Amazon), however Damon Albarn, the creator of Gorillaz, stated in a recent interview that he has been recording the upcoming album on an iPad, and hopefully will be out by Christmas! Possibly an EP?

Edit: Forgot to mention: big releases this week (that I can think up off of the top of my head for now) include Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, My Chemical Romance's Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, and Gorillaz's digital and physical release of Doncamatic- Single.

That song isn't bad, but it just doesn't feel like a Gorillaz song. It sounds more like a pop/techno song then their usualy blend of rap/rock/and techno. The whole new album feels too techno for me.I have this same problem with the new Linkin Park single(I'm not sure if the whole new album is out yet) I rather liked their new sound and their first album, but they are experimenting outside the area of their skill. Trying out new sounds is good, but they both have to realize that dramatically changing the good thing they had going for them isn't a good thing. It would have been better if they tryed it in small doses, but that's just my honest opinion.

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

Yeah, I can agree with that. The new song is a little...different. It's good, just a bit too "mainstream" for my liking.

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

I'm in to heavy metal, rock, indie and anything along those lines.
But my favorite right now has to be.. The Limousines.

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

The Black Eyed Peas's The Beginning certainly wasn't nearly as disappointing as I had first anticipated, but it still felt like "The E.N.D. Part 2: Leftover Tracks" to me. A few standouts for me include Light Up the Night, Own It (Bonus Track), and The Best One Yet (The Boy) and The Situation (Bonus Track). Also, The Time is definitely growing on me. Thank goodness, because I used to absolutely HATE this song. Hopefully this electronic era for BEP is merely a phase and they will move onto bigger and better things.

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

So lately I've found myself thoroughly addicted the the TRON: Legacy soundtrack. As someone who loves both electronic music and film scores, I must say this album is pure gold. And to think it came from a duo known primarily for dance music...wow. I seriously hope this wins a Grammy...or at least gets nominated.

Oh, and the new Deadmau5 album is pretty cool too :D

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

@AddmM: Check Wikipedia- I'm pretty sure the nominations are on there. The new Deadmau5 album is GREAT, imo. I wasn't disappointed, especially upon first listen.

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

No, that was just a single of his. The album title is 4x4=12.

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

I'll also listen to pretty much anything. I used to listen to rock all the time and dismissed other genres altogether. I remember loving AFI so much but their most recent album "Crash Love" kinda sucked. Nowadays my favourite rock act has got to be Arcade Fire.

Anyways i have recently gotten into this phase where I am listen to a lot of late 90's and early 2000's Eurodance songs like "I'm Blue" by Eiffel 65, "All around the World" by ATC and other groups like Ace of Base and such.

I bet your're laughing at the fact that i listen to a one hit wonder like Eiffel 65's song "I'm Blue" right? Well, I've found a ton of songs of theirs that I never knew existed. They only really had one big hit in North America but contineued to be very popular in Europe, especially Italy( ps i'm not italien)
Seriously give them a listen. I reccomend "DJ with Fire" "Cosa Restera" "Back in time" "Losing You" and whatever you can find. They may have simple lyrics and autotune but they sound SO GOOD!!

Wow, i got really carried away with that. Well by listening to this I'm liking a lot more modern and even some mainstream songs as I am finding some elements of 90's dance in them. My favourite recent song has got to be "Stereo Love" by Edward Maya. I don't know if it's popular in the states but its European and is fairly popular in Canada getting a good amount of airplay on the radio and TV

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

oh yeah a thread bout music i am a rap/rock lover my fav rapper is eminem for his songs no love, like toy soldiers, mockinbird, and love the way u lie and the best rockband of all time is motorhead for their songs rock out, ace of spades, and the game

here is his song no love: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KV2ssT8lzj8

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

I'm getting "My beautiful Dark Twisted fantasy for christmas, i love the album, i have listened to the songs and it's awesome. Eminem's recovery, awesome. Kid Cudi's man on the moon 2, a bit depressing, but great.

I generally love rap, hip hop, pop, old rock and modern rock. I don't like Heavy/Death metal all that much.

I also like things like B.O.B, Bruno Mars, Vampire Weekend, Temper Trap and Dizze Rascal. I like different sorts. But i hate country. Oh yeah i like Black Eyed Peas, but now they seem to have changed.

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

I agree, PK95. It's a fantastic album, and imo, Kanye West's best album to date. Kid Cudi's new album is pretty good- it pretty much sounds like one long track despite a few songs that stand out on their own. That's about all I like in terms of mainstream rap music, however.

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

Yeah, Monster, All of the lights, Runaway, Gorgeous and Power are just, wow! Kid cudi, REVOFEV, The end, Don't play this song, Mr. Rager, These worries, Mojo so dope, Scott Mesucudi vs. the world and Erase me are my favouries. I'm glad to hear you like those artists as well. Even though i know they're not your favourite.

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

Oh no, don't get me wrong- they're certainly among my favorite.

ST17's "The Best of "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy"
> Dark Fantasy (lyrics, musical composition, etc, is beautiful)
> All of the Lights (the beat is genius and the medley of featured guests is a nice surprise)
> Power (beat, chorous in background, lyrics, all make for a great song)
> Runaway (again, the beat and lyrics come together for a beautiful song)
> Blame Game (a beautiful, emotional song)
> Lost in the World (brings great closure to the album by bringing the songs together and the moving lyrics, beat, and vocals are simply stunning)

Overall, I think this is easily Kanye's best album to date. This man may be a jerk, but he is a musical genius when it all comes down to it. There's not a single song I don't like on the album. 808's & Heartbreak and Graduation are a tie for second place. His early work is good as well, but it doesn't speak to me as much as his later work.

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

Have you heard his GOOD Friday songs? In Take one for the team he admits that he was acting like a nice guy, and that he is actually a jerk. But his Music, great!

The Blame game and Lost in the world, Awesome. I loved Chris Rock's outro on the blame game, lol Yeezy taught me.

RE: The Pokebeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

Right now, I can't stop listening to:
Dark Fantasy--Kanye West
Wretches and Kings--Linkin Park

These two songs are pretty awesome.
