It would probably be better to train Gengar if they're both the same level.

The Gengar is a Lv17. I don't have a Gastly, but thanks. I know what I am going to do.

Dawn, I would recommend you get a good Grass/Electric pokemon and train it up. Shinx are fairly common. You could also try getting your own water pokemon to resist his attacks, but make sure you know a move that's not water type and you should be fine.

I missed out on the Secret Key event and I just read somewhere that a Secret Key event for the PAL versions of Platinum is taking place in America. Is this true?

Well, you should evolve your Starly into Staraptor. You could also try a Luxray, or you could raise your Buneary's friendship, evolve it into Loppuny, and teach it Thunder (which you can buy at the Veilstone department store). Raise Sheildon to lv.30 to evolve it. You should train your team to at least lv.38. There is a Collector guy on the route south of Veilstone that has a Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon. He is great for training. And last, buy lots of potions before the gym leader. Hope this helps.

I know D/P events cannot be shiny. However, 10th Anniversary Pokémon can theoretically be shiny, though nobody's actually confirmed this (as far as I know). If somebody's trying to trade you one, then there's a high chance that it's hacked.

Ok I'm new here and this is my first post so i hope typing in the correct box...
I have a question about the plot towards the end, after you board the ship at Snowpoint and get to the island with The Battle Tower you see your rival and that red-headed girl and they talk about the volcano on the other end of the island. You then go to the Battle Tower and see your rival and another person running there. What do you do now? I beat the Battle Tower once but nothing happened and I don't know where the rival went off to. Do I just go to the volcano or keep at it in the battle Tower? Thanks.

Go to the Volcano. This is where it gets fun. But you need the Nat-dex to go to the Volcano.Sir Pikachu said:
