If that's what he/she meant, it definitely wasn't 'clearly'. He/she said the 'confirmed maximum'. That appears to me to mean the 'confirmed maximum'. But, I can't read Japanese anyway. So...yeah.

Well then, I apologize if I may have misled you. I meant the current confirmed total. I, personally, am hoping for the largest regional Dex possible (maybe bigger than B2W2).

Okay, and no need to apologize! It was a simple misunderstanding :) That makes more sense, then. I also hope it's the largest regional dex. That would really be exciting.

B2W2 is one of my 2nd favorite regional dex. Johto from HGSS is my 1st.

He clearly meant the confirmed CURRENT total. As in, thats how big we know it is so far.

He said confirmed maximum bro.

You clearly posted for no reason just to post bro.

Anyways, if the region is really as large as "everyone is hoping" it will be, Im going to be shooting for 350 as a nice little maximum for the regional dex. This is a "first" for the series so Im hoping they go all out with the selection of 'mons.

Hoping for about 100 or so new ones, with the rest being stuff we havent seen in awhile for a regional dex, mixed with the standard favs and psuedos.

Well, if every section of the dex has a slightly equal variety of 'mons, we can count on at least 231 'mons.

Looks closer and closer to reaching 300 by the second...

I'm pretty sure the old Pokemon shown in the trailers are there in order to keep the new Pokemon unrevealed for now. Just because they're there doesn't necessarily mean they're confirmed to be in the Pokedex. Although trailer Pokemon like Magikarp, Psyduck, and Weavile are likely to appear.

I'm pretty much basing my list based on the statues and artwork we've seen of older Pokemon in the trailers and whatnot.

Pikachu (wild battle and featured in artwork)
Raichu
Eevee (cuz of Sylveon and featured in a statue)
Vaporeon
Jolteon
Flareon
Dratini (statue/gargoyle)
Dragonair
Dragonite
Pichu
Marill (artwork)
Azumarill
Espeon
Umbreon
Zigzagoon (seen in the Pokedex)
Linoone
Roselia (fountain statue)
Budew
Roserade
Leafeon
Glaceon
Tympole
Palpitoad (statue)
Seismitoad
Gollett
Golurk (statue)

Chespin
Fennekin
Froakie
Fletchling
Gogoat
Helioptile
Pancham
Sylveon
Xearneas
Yevltal

Personally I think that the only pokemon that can be confirmed are the new pokemon revealed and those that appear as statues, clear pictures in the pokedex, or art pictures on the official site.
So really that means
  • Chespin line
  • Fennikin line
  • Froakie line
  • Zigzagoon line
  • Fletchling line
  • Helioptile line?
  • Pancham line?
  • Gogoat line?
  • Eeveelutions
  • Marril line
  • Xerneas
  • Yveltal
  • Tympole line
  • Golett line
  • Dratini line
  • Roselia line

So it seams that we are in agreement for now that these will appear in the game Pre-National Dex. more info soon hopefully

Why not Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon and Glaceon?

Probably forgot them or something. But, Glaceon and Leafeon could easily be left out for whatever reason, Espeon and Umbreon however are 100%.

Oh, thanks. What he probably meant was that they could pull a fire red and leaf green and leave out day and night, but I highly doubt that will happen 3 generations later.

I don't think they will leave out any evolutions, the only cases when it happened before, was in a remake.

It happened in DP as well, the only difference being that they left out entire evolutionary lines instead of just the new evolutions. In other words, people are saying they want the Dex to be more like Platinum's than DP's.

I thought it was pretty pointless that in DP they added a bunch of new evolutions to existing Pokemon- then you couldnt even use them in game unless you traded for them before the Nat Dex. I really dont want a repeat of that. And FWIW- Eevee better be available before mid game, just because of the fact they created/revealed Trolleon.

No, Mitja said that it was not certain that Leafeon and Glaceon were included even if Eevee was. I was talking about the Golbat effect in FRLG; Zubat and Golbat were available , but it couldn't evolve into Crobat.

I'm doubting that will happen either. If Sylveon is in the Kalos Dex, they won't overlook Leafeon and Glaceon, either. Besides, there's plenty of places in the main game to put both rocks.

Well.. that was my point.

I wonder if they'll change their evolution methods to items of the same material as Moss/Icy Rock some day... I mean its cool and all, but it gets old when every region has them and they don't do absolutely anything else besides evolving Eevee..

I agree. I say, either give the rocks more uses, or change it to, say, a completely frozen-over tree for Glaceon, and a completely moss/vine-covered tree for Leafeon. Nothing too special. Just to change it up a bit.

I would like that if the mossy/icy item was costimized for the region. For instance a very forested region could have a tree, an ocean region might have coral or sand, a mountainous region could have a peak. Little things to make it more fit in with the region,

My bad. Guess I forgot to mention them.
