Has anyone thought about its name including 'viv'? Instead of vivid, maybe it comes from 'life' as in lively. I'm just pointing this out because Vivillon seems to have to do with confetti/partying.
I can see this. As others have pointed out, it has a confetti/disco ball resemmblance, but I'm surprised that no one mentioned that it's base evolution is "Sewpa" which looks like it could be pronounces similar to "super." When considered with the mention of the "viv-" in it's name possibly coming from the Latin root meaning "life," GF seems to be loosely hinting at a joyful theme for the evo-line - if not in reference to partying (and yes, this is uncharacteristic of me as I generally do not like to speculate on such a small detail).

Multitype is hard-coded to only work for Arceus. You could hack it on to any other pokemon and it wouldn't do anything (just like Forecast on any pokemon besides Castform). Also, if you think about it, why would some random moth/butterfly react to the elemental plates if only the 'god' pokemon did before?
