The Set Rotation Discussion Thread

^or you could stick to what they said would be the rotation schedule that they outlined during the announcement of last year's rotation

^while this may be true, they had also not specifically outlined a rotation schedule when they rotated before 09`

^ They never said they would outline what sets would be rotated via the online TCG either (since we are pointing out what they did an didn't do /bandwagon)

Leaving the SP-engine inside rotation another season would be simply preposterous! At least RRon - my guess;)

Some day we will have a BW-on Format.

And Pokémon is nice, so they reprinted Communication for us.
Even if they didn't print Catcher, which makes me REALLY ANGRY.
Also, Superhumanoids is a good band.
Also, invisible text is THE BAWMB

It's going to have to be a Mid-Season cut to HGSS-On, there's just no other alternative at this point. The new Black & White Rulings that just came out is proof of this. Arceus-On is bad and so is Supreme Victors-On even though we lose Palmer's. It's going to be annoying using Flower Shop Lady but it's worth it.

If we just leave it to Rising Rivals-On, Beedrill G is going to be overpowered as well as Arceus and Zekrom/Pachirisu CoL. All those being able to win on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd turns of the game since you can play Trainers, Supporters, and Stadiums on the 1st turn at least on April 25th when the BW set is released.

The errata on Rare Candy is going to cripple Machamp SF as a check against SP/SableDonk decks
and Mewtwo Lv. X might see more play unless they counter it with Dialga G Lv. X. Even then you won't be able to setup Mewtwo Lv. X in time cause with your Opponent going 1st they'll get their setup before you do as games will now be decided by coin flips or Sableye SF's Overeager Poke-Body.

This is like making Modified into the travesty of ridiculousness that we call Unlimited which I have to say that Magic: The Gathering's version of it is more balanced than the one for Pokemon. That my friend is saying something. Hopefully a Mid-Season Rotation can stave off a set of bad rulings but I'm hoping it's not just delaying some kind of horrible fate.

Now that pokemon has implemented new rules, I actually think a mid-season is plausible. However, I do not think it is likely as I have never known them to be rational. HGSS on rotation because everything else is too broken with first turn trainers and supporters

I guess it all comes down to this:

1. Go on Hiatus from the Pokemon TCG until after Rotation in August.
2. Play through this dreadful format that TPCi has jacked up for us.
3. Encourage TPCi and P!P to ban Sableye SF even though it's
4 months away from getting banned by rotation.
4. Something must be done to fix the game.

^this. Only the fourth one isn't actually an other option.

I intend to just play through it. I WILL PERSEVERE.

Probably going to be RR on or something. PT on would only rotate 3 sets, and RR on will do a fine job of destroying most of the current decks and leaving room for all the donk decks.

^as much as I hate to say it I think it will be HGSS on at this point, any rotation that leaves arceus in the format will just be asking for trouble.

One of my friends is saying that a HGSS-On format would suck cause we lose Spiritomb AR but how would that be bad when we lose SP's? Gothitelle works the same as Spiritomb except it's a Stage 2 instead of a Basic however it got cut in our upcoming set.

i wouldnt mind the loss of spiritomb. i want slower. i want stage 2 decks to actually have some what of a chance. and now i can tech a 1-1-1 line of magnezone for draw power since we will lose things like uxie :p

I would love it if stage 2 decks could stand a chance with rotation. However, I'm expecting the rotation to be RR-on just by seeing how the history of rotations has been. HGSS-on would be nice and slow which I love, but meh....RR-on is the best bet to plan for.

a HGSS - on format would make me very upset.. as I've spent time building an Arceus deck for me, and one for my neighbor.. I would like to get another season out of those cards, so a RR-on rotation would be amazing. especially since DGX goes away, Machamp SF goes away too.. the only thing left is Spiritomb AR and Vileplume to slow Arceus down.. but Arceus can use supporters, stadiums, attacks, and manual energy attaching for it's needed speed..

I support a RR-on format because of the cards I have, but as far as playability goes, a HGSS-on format would be cool in that stage 2's would have a solid chance.. but that also makes lostgar that much more of a threat. =(

So is Arceus Donk going to become a threat If we have RR-On after next rotation? People are saying that it will be. Let's see, Rainbow Energy, Expert Belt, DCE, and Game on Turn 2? By then we'd lose Crobat G, Poke Turn, but PlusPower would help it I suppose and Beginning Door with Pokemon Collector, it could get very nasty. Prepare to run Lost Remover people...

LostGar I don't think will see as much play post-rotation cause it loses Palkia G Lv. X for Lost Cyclone, Uxie LA for Drawpower, and that's really about it for it. Without Palkia G Lv. X LostGar loses it's main engine to get Pokemon into the Lost Zone faster unless it has a way of attaching more energies onto Gengar Prime to be able to Hurl into Darkness probably with Jirachi UL.
