RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

It would still overwrite your old file and just save but it will alert you before you save though.:)

A question from me: I'm pretty sure that from DP-on, it was made that starting a New Game would prevent you from saving, and that the only way to save would be to erase the old data. How does this prevention work with communication that involves saving, or the Battle Subway, or the Elite 4?

Rusticks is correct you cannot save over your profile unless you perform the Specfic buttons to restart your game. Then all of your save data would be deleted and a new savable game would be created.

In Gen IV and V, it will NOT erase your old file without you doing the button combination. It only gave the warning before overwriting in Gen III and earlier.

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

WHAT? That's news to me. Why did they change that?:)

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

Probably to prevent accidental erasure of save files. The "double-save" feature could have something to do with it as well.

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

You have to press a button at least -3 times before it saves the game XD. If people paid close attention while saving they would not have any problems XD.

Anyway. Did they add more space to the friend roster? I have 16 friends now and only 13 show up in the Dream World itself though. Why is that? Thanks XD.:)

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

Did you check page 2?

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

What do you mean? I have 16 friends. and there are 4 pages XD. Hold on let me double check XD.:)

EDIT: Just checked XD. I now have 16 friends and 4 free spaces XD. In the DW itself there are 11 friends on the first page and only 2 on the 2nd page. 3 of my friends have the E-Z Mail blocked so I wonder if that has something to do with it XD.:)

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

Okay, I believe this question has been asked, but with twenty-three pages of comments and being set to 100 posts per page, I don't really have time to look through them all.

I made two PGL accounts. One has my POP ID with it, the other doesn't (as for why I made an account without my ID is irrelevant here). My White version I use to battle with all the time has been registered to my non-ID account. Due to the amount of goodies and whatnot on it, I wanted to register it to my ID'd account.... But a wild missingno appeared out of the tall grass. Apparently, you can't register a file that's already been registered.

So, my question: is there any way to register said White version to my ID'd account without restarting my save file?

If you provide proof that you own both accounts, Customer Support can probably merge them for you. Otherwise, nope.

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

Wait did you make an account BEFORE you got your 2nd version? If you did then you might have to start over until you get the same ID. This could take a long time so write down your ID until you get it. Try looking for a space to add it. Go to www.Pokemon.com so your main account is active. Then go to your settings and see if you can add it. I am pretty sure you can add it if you have not yet but can't remember XD.:)

EDIT: Did not see a box for it on my account but look for one XD. I have to check the PGL itself though.:)
EDIT 2: Did not see any box there either. I probably don't have a box because I already added it. If I am not mistaken you can add it at any time by going to your account settings though.:)

Customer service, my good man:

http://support.pokemon.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=330

And here's the whole list of Global Link FAQs: http://support.pokemon.com/ics/support/KBList.asp?folderID=75

But yeah, you might be able to provide proof to Customer Support.

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

That first link doesn't seem to work. All I get is: Oops!

We're sorry, but it looks like your session has expired and is unable to restart successfully. Please return to the home page of the support site you were on to begin a new session.

^Every time I click on it.

In fact, that seems to be what I'm getting with both of them.

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

Ah, seems it won't show up anyone but me. Here it is:

I want to change the Game Card to another user (siblings, family members, friends).

If you'd like to change the Game Card to a new user, the new user will have to register at Pokémon Trainer Club with the correct user information, log in with the newly acquired Trainer Club account, and register the Game Sync ID that is issued for the Game Card.

You will also need to delete the current save game and begin a new game, so a new Game Sync ID can be issued to link with the new user's Pokémon Global Link (PGL) account.

In this case, please note that the previous user's PGL history cannot be taken over.
Please note that a Pokémon Trainer Club account is not transferable.

In order to issue a new Game Sync ID, we would need to confirm your registration. Please provide the following information by submitting a question at support.pokemon.com:
- Trainer Club account username
- PGL nickname
- Registered DOB, starting with the year
- The country you live in
- Current Game Card in use
- Currently registered Game Sync ID

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

Do they have any info on if you can remove a Game Sync ID from an account?

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

GS ID's can't be removed. Once you added it it is engraved in stone basically and you cannot edit it either XD. The best thing to do is do customer service or make a new account. Read everything word for word before continuing XD. Sounds like you did not read everything word for word when you made the account XD.:)

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

No, what happened was I started with Black version, and I ended up losing the game and I bought White. I still have White, but I wanted to remove the GS ID for Black in case I pick up another one before Black/White 2.

My game save has been accidentally deleted. I want to change the Game Sync ID to the newly issued one and link with the game. Can I continue to use the original PGL user history?

Unfortunately, while it is possible to delete the original Game Sync ID, you cannot link the original Pokémon Global Link (PGL) user history to the newly issued Game Sync ID.

In order to delete your Game Sync ID, we would need to confirm your registration. Please provide the following information by submitting a question at support.pokemon.com:
- Trainer Club account username
- PGL nickname
- Registered DOB, starting with the year
- The country you live in
- Current Game Card in use
- Currently registered Game Sync ID

When deletion of the registered Game Sync ID is completed, we will reply to your question. Then please register your new Game Sync ID.

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

I don't think you can remove it XD. I would just soft reset until you get that ID again on the new versions you get XD. It will take awhile but at least it will work if you do that XD.:)

RE: The Fifth Gen Questions and Answers Thread

- Registered DOB, starting with the year

Wait, so the DOB (Date of Birth in this case I assume) of the person with the account, or the DOB of the account itself?
