RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

Never heard of Project Melee. But it sounds interesting. What is it.

New Topic Guys. Brawl+ and Brawl- are two games you can download from the internet and play on your Wii, using the Homebrew channel. These will be our topics for the next few days.

RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

Brawl+ or BBrawl?

Brawl- last I saw was pretty cool. Warlock Punch does 666% damage when it connects.

RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

hey Bippa. 4426-6618-5430, my FC

could someone explain more about Brawl +/-?

RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

I don't have either mostly cause I don't have the Homebrew channel but I've seen people play them. They look pretty good.

RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

I'm not positive, but I'm fairly sure they're different. Don't take my word on it though. I've heard that Ganon is one of the best characters in Balance Brawl, but I haven't played myself to know. At least f-air autocancels from a short hop like it should in regular Brawl, so that's a plus.

Brawl +/- are code modifications to the game. They alter what certain moves do so that the imperfect coding in Brawl can become much more balanced, especially in 1 vs 1.

RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

Bippa, my apartment's Wi-Fi is under repair. I'll tell you my F-C when it's fixed.

Also, why do people hate Lucario? My friend said he had no strategy. I find he can be good IF you know how to play him >:]

RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

Typically Lucario's strategy is to be semi-defensive and to exploit the aura properties. I've taken a look at the calculations for damage boosting for both stocks and damage percentages...I'm impressed. It makes him a much more technical character than most, but others (like ICs and Ganon) are more so.

RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

IDK maybe it's because he gains power as he takes damage but that's just one persons opinion

RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

About Lucario,

Like TFO said, if you're playing him you tend to be playing him one way and trying to take advantage of his aura increasing power.

ON the side note, anyone want a friendly brawl?

RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

My friend was saying total noobish stuff about him.

You get juggled too much, and by the time you reach 100%, bye bye.

That is a flat out lie. I last well to 140%. And not to mention aura at max power is pretty dangerous to your foe B)

Same! I find this to be typical.

RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

Just watch out for being ahead in stocks. It actually reduces your power, but only up to 2 stocks ahead. Same goes with the increasing, it only happens up to 2 stocks behind.

Yup, usually I get knocked out after taking 2 of my foes stocks. It's very tricky sometimes.

RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

I play Lucario very offensively. Once I get around 100% though, I start to ease back a bit and be a little more evasive. His hitboxes are somewhat quirky thanks to the aura, and he can get pretty crazy if you can live long enough. If you're damaged up and they're fresh you can knock off like 30% in one combo.

I have no experience whatsoever with anything but regular Brawl, but I do remember seeing a Brawl+ video where Ganondorf's choke slam didn't get interrupted if you hit a dude in the air. I watched someone maul a Falco at Yoshi's Island (Brawl) by choke slamming him completely off the stage and into the abyss. It was great.

I do that currently when I play as Ganon. What exactly are you describing?

RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

You know how if you catch a guy in midair when you choke slam, you'll stop and send you both downwards? In Brawl+, Ganondorf goes the full length of his move (perhaps even longer), even if you catch someone in midair at the very start of the attack.

Also, new poll and junk.

RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

Oh! So if he grabs Yoshi (examp.) at 15% of his full range, he'll continue on his course until he reaches the end of his course, and then plummet downward?

RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

Not only that, but he gains forward momentum, basically ensuring anyone you catch in it will die if you're on any small board or towards the ledge on others.

RE: The Smashers - Discussing Brawl+/Brawl-

Now that's cool. Thanks for the link.

EDIT: Balanced Brawl, is it the same as Brawl+?
