The Yu-Gi-Oh Thread

RE: Yugioh Thread

So are we actually planning on having a tournament? I've been trying my Phantom Beastcraft deck and its fun but if I were to play a serious game I'd still use a deck I'm more used to like Gladiator Beasts.

RE: Yugioh Thread

And should we do this tournament before or after March 1st? The banlist doesn't really affect me much at all, so I'm game for either.

RE: Yugioh Thread

I had some sign-ups for a tournament on the previous page, but I think we've only got 5 people in at the moment. I'm still open to more players!

RE: Yugioh Thread

I can't participate in the tournament until next sunday, though...

Please tell me you've seen the new Planes in Judgment of the Light.

RE: Yugioh Thread

No, I actually hadn't. Some of them are really good-but now I'm afraid that the same thing will happen to the Beastcrafts as happened to Fire Fists-the new cards will make the archetype so strong that it becomes overused and, for me, more boring. They're rather strong already imo considering how hard they are to destroy and how incredibly easy it is for them to get out the really high rank Xyzs.

RE: Yugioh Thread

I'm looking forward to building Burning Knucklers. They look like such a fun and balanced archetype to play.

RE: Yugioh Thread

Seal of Orichalcos makes them extremely annoying. It just makes the Watthopper lock much easier (though it will only be a mini lock).
They're not bad...they just need to run a TON of traps.

RE: Yugioh Thread

Hey guys, random question...

Should I buy my Maxx "C"s, Tour Guides, and Rabbits separately? Or should I just buy the Hanzo tins?

Depends on how much you have. If you've got the money to spend on two Hanzo tins, I'd suggest buying those - if not, buying them single is probably better, but you'll miss out on any potential profits from opening the packs.

RE: Yugioh Thread

I'm buying the tins I think. The Tour Guides are 8 apiece and I need two, and the Maxx "C"s are 8-10. And I need two.

RE: Yugioh Thread

Well, the price of Tour Guide should go down due to Sangan being limited (Because that's apparently the only thing people think can be gotten out with Tour Guide other than being DUMBASSES and getting out Night Assailant), but...you might as well just get the tins. The promos really pay for the price of the tin, and you're essentially getting packs for free.

But really, it annoys me when people think the only good targets are Sangan and Night Assailant. I can't tell you the amount of times people have summoned Tour Guide, got out Sangan, and made an Xyz. There are other good options, too...
* Dotedotengu: Not out yet, but helps against the Fire King matchup.
* Cloudian - Poison Cloud: If they want to attack you directly, they gotta get through this guy first. And when they do...
* Dark Mimic LV3: Draw when it's destroyed.
* Fabled Kushano: Not only is it a LIGHT Monster (so you can banish it and Tour Guide after the Xyz to go into BLS or something), but it's also a tuner in the scenario where you NEED to synch into something.

...my apologies for the rant.

RE: Yugioh Thread

No you're good. I like your reasoning with Fabled Kushano. I only run Stardust in my Extra Deck as a Synchro, but I'd love to use that for BLS instead of relying on Veiler and Rai-Oh. I replaced Sangan for Dotedotengu, but it's kind of situational for my taste. :| I might replace it with the Cloudian. I love that effect.

RE: Yugioh Thread

Djinn Releaser of Rituals is another great target for Tour Guide.

See them. They're amazing.
Oh, please...
It's an OTK deck, it's fragile as paper. As a Karakuri player for nearly two and a half years, I can conclude that this is a bad Karakuri deck. It takes away half the things the archetype can do and takes away part of what makes the archetype what it is.

This disgusts me.

Well, I love it.
That's just me though.

RE: Yugioh Thread

Well, have YOU played Karakuris for 2.5 years?

Don't get me wrong, that deck itself is brilliant. Solar Wind Jammer just makes it even easier to go into Bureido. But it's not a Karakuri deck...it's an OTK deck.

No I have not, and point taken.

My issue is I cannot beat Dark Worlds, but I can't beat Dark Worlds with anything, really.

RE: Yugioh Thread

Macros Cosmos and Dimensional Fissure (I think those are the names) laugh at Dark World so hard its not even funny.
