The Yu-Gi-Oh Thread

RE: Yugioh Thread

It depends on the archetype, but it can work pretty well, like with Fire Kings and Fire Fists.
I haven't tried it myself, but it does look like a lot of fun. You'd need to run more anti-meta cards in the main deck, but I think that's a bit of a small price to pay.

RE: Yugioh Thread

Go ask Dark Void. He does it...or at least used to do it.

RE: Yugioh Thread

I actually had no clue that it was a competitive thing. I just thought it would be funny and build a deck around it a while ago (I think it was Inzektors/Hieratics, back before Hieratics were nerfed by the bans) but I never tuned it enough to consider it my best deck. I haven't used it recently, but it was fun.

RE: Yugioh Thread

How the hell did you do that with Inzektors and Hieratics? The decks have nothing to do with each other ._.
I mean, that's probably why it worked, but...sweet jesus

This is exactly why I did it.

As I said, I didn't know that it was a competitive strategy at the time (I'd never heard of anyone else doing it until SL's last post). It was purely for fun.

RE: Yugioh Thread

No, I mean, 15 cards or less couldn't have really reliably turned Inzektors into Hieratics. How did you even DO it?

RE: Yugioh Thread

Sadly I appear to have deleted the deck when the key cards like REDMD got banned and I can't remember the list very well. I think I might have actually ended up having to leave one or two cards in when I sided the Hieratics out like Gebeb.

BREAKING NEWS

Konami has just announced an ambitious new set to be released on July 12th--Number Hunters!
Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc is proud to bring you a brand new Yu-Gi-Oh release Number Hunters and it’s the biggest surge of new Xyz Monsters ever!

Almost 2 years ago, the anti-matter Xyz Monsters arrived in our universe through a black hole, and immediately took over the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME. Starting with 2011’s Generation Force booster set, Duelists everywhere have had a chance to collect Xyz Monsters and add them to their Decks.

Some of the most elusive Xyz Monsters are the mysterious “Numbered” monsters – the key cards in the new Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal animated TV series. On the TV show, special characters called Number Hunters track down these powerful monsters to tap into their awesome power. Now, we’re releasing the largest collection of “Number” monsters to date, in the eponymous Number Hunters booster set!

60 card set: 50 brand new cards, plus 10 cards re-released as foil cards for the first time
25 brand new Xyz Monsters – the black-framed monsters that have taken the game by storm!
6 new Chaos Xyz (CXyz) monsters – super-powered Xyz Monsters that can be speed-summoned with the new “Rank-Up Magic” Spell Cards from Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy and Super Starter: V for Victory
New cards for “Chronomaly” and “Heroic Challenger” Decks (both introduced in Return of the Duelist)

This is pretty nice news. 25 new Xyz Monsters are bound to do something to the game, no?

RE: Yugioh Thread

And soon all 99 will be released.
All I can say is yes, make it happen so we can collect them all.

RE: Yugioh Thread

What I find promising is the inclusion of 6 Chaos Xyz monsters--after messing around with the Chaos Numbers and the single Chaos Xyz we have, I'm eager to see what this set will bring.

RE: Yugioh Thread

It's a gimmick. You put a lot into it but you don't get much out. Although, the Malefic/Gravekeeper variant with Skill Drain actually works really well; it's a bit scary.

RE: Yugioh Thread

In case you weren't aware, 4 TCG exclusives for Lord of the Tachyongalaxy were revealed over the past few days. Pretty cool, if I do say so myself.

HoldTheFort.jpg

Trifortresstops
Level 6/DARK/Machine/Effect
1600 ATK/2800 DEF
During either player’s turn, if your opponent Summoned 3 or more monsters this turn: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. If this card is Special Summoned this way, it is unaffected by other card effects, but loses 500 DEF during each player’s Standby Phase.

Coyote.jpg

Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Coyote
Level 5/FIRE/Beast-Warrior/Effect
2000 ATK/800 DEF
If you control a “Fire Formation” Spell/Trap Card, and no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand).

Gwalch.jpg

Noble Knight Gwalchavad
Level 4/LIGHT/Warrior/Effect
1500 ATK/1800 DEF
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field. While equipped with a “Noble Arms” Equip Spell Card, this card becomes an Effect Monster with this effect.
●You can target 1 “Noble Knight” monster in your Graveyard; add it to your hand, and if you do, destroy 1 “Noble Arms” Equip Spell Card you control. You can only use this effect of “Noble Knight Gwalchavad” once per turn.

Destiny.jpg

Noble Arms of Destiny
Equip Spell Card
You can only control 1 face-up “Noble Arms of Destiny”. Equip only to a Warrior-Type monster. Once per turn, the equipped monster cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects. If this face-up card on the field is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 Warrior-Type “Noble Knight” monster you control; equip this card to that target. You can only use this effect of “Noble Arms of Destiny” once per turn.

Thoughts? I'm definitely looking forward to trying out the new Noble Knight stuff--Medraut + Gwalchavad + Noble Arms = 2 Blade Armor Ninja. Yeeeeeeeah.

EDIT: Another card.

Totem-Bird.jpg

Totem Bird
Rank 3/WIND/Winged Beast/Xyz/Effect
1900 ATK/1400 DEF
[2 Level 3 WIND Monsters]
During either player’s turn, when a Spell/Trap Card is activated: You can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. This card loses 300 ATK while it has no Xyz Materials.

OH GOD
PLEASE LET THIS BE REAL
I need 3 Blaster for Burning Knucklers ;~;

RE: Yugioh Thread

At least we can get the most broken cards of the game for cheap now...lol.

DNA - yeah, Malefic Drain, (I run Geartown too), is actually a very nasty deck. I'm having consistency issues with it though.

RE: Yugioh Thread

Just came back from my first sneak since Generation Force, all I now need is a few staples, a Blaster, playsets of both verions of 105, a playset of Baraian's force, and I'm done for "Battlin' Boxers"...

... still prefer Burning Knucklers, though.

How much were LEAD YOKEs and Blaster going for at the sneak?

Lead Yokes were about £1 and Blasters £2-3, but I traded for mine.
At least 2 Dragossacks and 1 Judgement were pulled.
