RE: Trivia of DNA I

Xdogking gets the 3 points because he was the first to answer. Oyeah explained it but he didn't post first, so...yeah. Serperior is the only starter to date with 0 feet. Hatman's wrong because I asked for the fully-evolved starter Pokemon - I am very well aware Snivy has feet.

I consider Swampert to be two-legged; although he sometimes walks on all fours, his front limbs are clearly hands.

Xdogking - 38.5
oyeah1988 - 28.5
The Power of Three - 23
Bippa201 - 18.5
Guilty Spark - 13
Dark Void - 13
Chillarmy - 9
catutie - 8
bacon - 7
legendhunter32 - 4
hipoke - 4
Blue Thunder - 3.5
Zyflair - 3
Yoshidude - 3
TheDarkLucario - 3
Guy89 - 3
batui4 - 3
FlamingDriscoll09 - 3
ShadowDark - 2
Hatman - 2
Shadow Arceus - 2
Snivylover555 - 1
Delta - 1
Azelf Master - 1

With that, Xdogking has passed the halfway point.

Contributed by an off-site friend:

Name the prototype English names of the following Pokemon: Eevee, Gyarados, Rattata, Paras, and Vulpix. Each correct answer nets 1 point (therefore 5 max is possible).
What do I mean by prototype English names? For example, Arcanine's English name was going to be Windy (same as the Japanese), and Weezing's name was going to be LA.

RE: Trivia of DNA I

Rattata: Rat
Eevee: Fox
Gyarados: Snake
Paras: Crab
Vulpix: Nine

Guesses, except for ratatta

RE: Trivia of DNA I

I believe the prefix was the same for eevee but the end was changed and later became it's evolutions.
Eveon=Eevee
Rat and attack makes perfect sense.
Rattata=Rattatak
Vulpix also makes sense
Vulpix=Foxfire

I never thought having this knoelwdge would pay off.

RE: Trivia of DNA I

.-. Eon, Gyara, Idunno, Bugshroom, Ghome or something.

I failed miserably.

RE: Trivia of DNA I

4 points to Bippa
1 point to Delta for guessing Rattatak

Without changing the spelling of a Pokemon's English name, how many Pokemon have names that are also words in the English language, not counting proper nouns? You must also name them.

RE: Trivia of DNA I

Zangoose, Surskit, Reshiram, Mewtwo, Turtwig, Infernape, Tepig, Pignite, Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Machop, Machoke, Machamp, Goldeen, Caterpie, Growlithe, Arcanine. To name a few...

RE: Trivia of DNA I

"Arcanine" is not a word. You misread the question. I am looking for Pokemon whose names are actual literal words in English.

RE: Trivia of DNA I

@Bippa: Ninjas, ninjas, ninjas.

RE: Trivia of DNA I

Ditto
Dewgong
Seal
Abra
Kadabra
Alakazam
Castform

That's all I got

RE: Trivia of DNA I

Out of those, only Ditto is a correct answer. Castform isn't a word; the Abra line's names aren't words, and for Seel and Dewgong you have to change the spelling.

No points for you.

RE: Trivia of DNA I

Hmmm.

Ditto.
Persian.
Gloom.
Klink and Klang? lol
Electrode.
Golem

I've got 7 from the cards in my binder lol.

RE: Trivia of DNA I

The answer is 7, but of those, Persian, Klink, and Klang are not words. I said 'excluding proper nouns', so Persian is not eligible. Nevertheless I'll give you 2 points. The person able to name the last 3 gets the last point.

By the way, "jynx" isn't a word. You have to change the spelling.

RE: Trivia of DNA I

No, Hatman. Just no.

@Oyeah: Nope. "Mr. Mime" as a whole isn't a word even though both parts are words. Also, "cloyster" is not a word - you have to change the spelling. Zero points for you.
