RE: Trivia of DNA I

The correct answer hasn't yet been given...

RE: Trivia of DNA I

If Oyeah remembered Palpitoad, he'd be correct. Ironically, all the Water/Ground types get at least one Poison-type move except for the Whiscash line.

I'll have a new question up when I think of it...like in a couple days.

Math question from the abyss. LEZZGO

~Start with Baltoy's National Pokedex number. To make things easy I will tell you what it is: 343.
~Keep adding 1 to this number until you reach a multiple of 9. Then, divide that number by 9.
~Convert that number to a Pokemon (based on its Nat'l Dex number). Find that Pokemon's pre-evolution and its Nat'l Dex number. Save that number for the next step.
~Keep adding 1 to this number until you reach a multiple of 9. Then, divide that number by 9.
~Convert that number to a Pokemon (based on its Nat'l Dex number). Find that Pokemon's pre-evolution and its Nat'l Dex number. Save that number for the next step.
~Multiply this number by 10.
~Keep adding 1 to this number until you reach a multiple of 9. Then, divide that number by 9.
~Add to this number the Nat'l Dex number of the Pokemon with the highest base Defense of any Poison-type.
~Take this number, and then find what Pokemon in the HOENN Pokedex has this number there.

Who is it?

RE: Trivia of DNA I

343+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1= 351
351/9 39
39 IS JIGGLYPUFF Prevo is Igglybuff = 173
173+1+1+1+1+1+1+1= 180/9 = 20= raticate 19 is ratatta (sp?)
19*10=190
190+8= 198
198/9=22
22+ highest base def of poison type (110)= 132
132 in hoenn is Claydol (Figures)

RE: Trivia of DNA I

Xdogking gets the 3 points.

I just noticed something - due to the way I had the problem set up, Oyeah got the right answer even though he was incorrect on one of the steps (Igglybuff is 174, not 173). I think in future, with math problems, I will make you all show your work.

~~~~~~~~~
New question:
Blacksmiths love 2 things. What are they?
RE: Trivia of DNA I
Blacksmiths love, 1) Making skillets. and 2) Filling them with liquid gold. :3
RE: Trivia of DNA I
Myself and I?
(i think afro got it)
YES.
Just add ground beef, apprentice.
~~~~~~

Now for some more math. And make sure to show your work on each step. The first person to be correct on all steps, and develop the correct final answer, will get the points.

~Begin with the Nat'l Dex number of the Pokemon that learns Cosmic Power by level-up and can have Illuminate as an ability.
~Count all the numbers less than 25 that you can divide this number evenly by, i.e. the factors of this number less than 25. Add those numbers together.
~Subtract 1, then divide by 9.
~Then multiply by 10.
~Once you do that, convert to a Pokemon (by Nat'l Dex number), and find the Nat'l Dex number of that Pokemon's evolution.
~Take the square root of this new number.
~Then, find the latest Nat'l Dex number you possibly can that is divisible by this square root.
~Convert that to a Pokemon. Take note of the Pokemon's (non-hidden) ability. Find the first Pokemon in Nat'l Dex order that has this ability as non-hidden, and then take its Nat'l Dex number.
~Find the nearest multiple of 9 (either forwards or backwards) from this number.
~Convert this number to a Pokemon, and take note of its (non-hidden) ability. Find the last Pokemon in Nat'l Dex order that has this ability as non-hidden, and then take its Nat'l Dex number.
~Divide this number by 9.
~Convert this number to a Pokemon. Now, this Pokemon is most closely associated with a certain individual.

Who is the individual?

Don't forget to show your work!

RE: Trivia of DNA I

Staryu is 120
The factors of 120 that are less than 25 are 2 3 4 5 6 8 10 12 15 20 24 sum is 109
109-1=108
108/9=12
12*10= 120 (-_________-)
120 is Staryu
121 is Starmie
square root of 121 is 11
Latest # that is divisible by 11 is 649
649 is Genesect who gets Download
First Poke who gets Download is Porygon (137)
137 is nearest to 135, which is divisible by 9
135 is Jolteon with Volt Absorb
Lanturn (171) is the last to get a non-dream world Volt Absorb
171/9=19
19 is Rattata who is most closely associated with Youngster Joey. (His top-percentage Rattata lol)

RE: Trivia of DNA I

-______- indeed.

I applaud you for showing your work on every step, so you'll get the 3 points - yes, I like making these problems up as I go along, and to have Youngster Joey as an answer was most satisfying.

I probably won't have another question for a while yet, so for now here is an updated scoreboard. Xdogking is only 6.5 points away from winning this thing...!

Xdogking - 68.5

RE: Trivia of DNA I

Here's a fun question to stall you for time.

The Japanese word in my sig is what Pokemon attack that what Pokemon learns at what level?

RE: Trivia of DNA I

Come on, DNA. Your sig itself was a hint even if I didn't know the japanese for blue. |3

Blue Flare, Reshiram, 100.

RE: Trivia of DNA I

And neither do I! But Honoo is Japanese for Flare, and my signature's blue, so...heh.
But I didn't want you people floundering around forever, did I?

~~~~~
Math~
~Look at the names of each of the Pokemon pictures (there's 6 of them, see) currently in Zyflair's signature. Take all the letters of all the names, convert them all to numbers (in which A=1, B=2, &c.), and then add the numbers together.
~Now take that number and separate it into its prime factors. (e.g., 2*2*2*3*3*5 etc). Then add those numbers up.
~Convert this number to a Pokemon. Now find a Pokemon that is the same (or similar) species as it in the Hoenn region.
~Take this Pokemon's name and convert it into numbers (in which A=1, B=2, &c.), and then add the numbers together.
~Convert this number to a Pokemon, then convert its name back into the numbers (in the same way you did the others) and add the numbers together.
~Now you should have the number of a Pokemon. This Pokemon is most commonly associate with...what individuals...?
And yes, as is custom, you must show your work!
