US Nationals 2012

Play something with Vileplume. You will win, this is no joke.

Vileplume is way too slow IMO. I should play Yanmega/Electrode/Terrakion/Vileplume like I was playing on PlayTCG.

I ordered 55 dice from Chessex last Monday. I really wanted them for this weekend so I could use them/give them to my opponents/give them to Pokebeach people. I should have ordered them a month ago when I had the chance....

Oh, I see :\ Not every company is really diligent with sending quickly.

As far as what to play, do what I'm going to do: Bring both Eels and Darkrai, and just test both the day before.

Pretty much this. I just bring all my cards with me anyways so I could switch in what I have so I don't need to trade for stuff. It also helped in past years when I could see a lot of bulk to Troll and Toad.

imo since darkrai did so well at BR's, he'll receive alot of hate at nats, so unless your really comfortable with playing darkrai, I wouldn't use him.... (the same could go for eels, it was like the most played deck so everyone will expect to see it)

Ive been testing CMT and like it a lot, but it against darkrai it just becomes a terrakion vs darkrai battle

Then what deck do you think should be played? If you're not comfortable with Zeels or Darkrai you aren't left with many choices.

Isn't this whole format pretty much a Darkrai vs. Terrakion battle?

Also, I like CMT as a deck I just don't like how Darkrai can snipe Celebis.

Yeah, I agree. There's too much Terrakion for Darkrai to handle IMO. It's still a perfectly viable deck though, I just find that Eels isn't as vunerable to Terrakion as Darkrai is.

That's mostly because Terrakion takes 1 prize for Retaliate against ZekEels whereas it takes 2 against Darkrai. Plus, Zekrom can easily OHKO Terrakion with a Plus Power, whereas Darkrai can't OHKO Terrakion unless it has a bunch of things (Dark Claw, Sp. Dark, PP).

If the whole format is fighting and some darkrai/zekeels then CMT is just going to win everything.

SO HERE IS MY PREDICTION
1st. CMT
2nd. Darkrai/Smeargle
3rd. Terrakion
4th. Zekrom/Eels

I think we're talking about Terrakion techs, not Terrakion decks. Everything beats the deck... and pretty badly. Darkrai beats it, Eelektrik beats it, Vileplume beat it, Celebi beats it... Not much left except mirror lol.

ohhhhhh... right. I fail as usual.

So then a bunch of people are going to play Zekeels w/ Terra?

There are 2 more pretty good decks that people can try out.
There's Meganium/Vileplume/Attackers which is a Klingklang type variant or Accelgor/Vileplume/Mew/Chandelure/Darkrai.
The second is so good but if it can't get the DCE it hurts a lot. iis played it and once the lock is out and your deck is thin, you pretty much win since the KOs usually go into your turn.

Accelgor is pretty good, but speed decks wreck it. That's pretty much the reason it won't see play in Seniors.

Is the only reason why people play Klinklang over Meganium because Klink's evo line searchable with Heavy Ball?

Does anyone want to test on PlayTCG?

^??? Twins engine anyone? If Trainer lock is out pretty quick, those "speed decks" don't stand a chance. EXs give out 2 prizes easily, and Trainer lock can shut down half of their deck. Its not every day you see a T1 Darkrai, Zekrom, or Tornadus EX. Sure, it happens, but not EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Test what? And I don't know. Meganium has 2 less retreat and a more "solid" attack. The deck is really good, but dies to aggro Mewtwo and Raikou EX. Funny how that works with their ability to run both Groudon and Mewtwo. Meganium is run w/ Vileplume because they are both grass.
