Finished Werewolf XIV: The Legend of Canton Falls. Town wins!

Status
Not open for further replies.
For the second time, I ultimately win the game for the townies. Granted, not as decisively, but legit just the same. May be even more legit as I didn't have a "broken"(for the complainers) role this time. BUT YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Eat dat' Teal.

For anyone who cares, I was everyone's favorite Grandpa. Yes, I was a roleblocker, but I was also half priest. The second half never got any use.

I also won this game even though I have dementia.

BTW Hypnotic, I am flattered that you think I was the best werewolf player left aside from you, but I honestly am not that good. I played werewolf 2 and 3 but then not again until like 2 games ago.

(hooray for username change :F)

There were six players left.

Bisharp and Puff are pretty new at this.

It'd be unfair to rate myself.

Mark hasn't really shined much.

I say you and Guy are pretty close, so I probably could have swayed the other way. But still, complements are pretty.

Yeah! Hooray for the game in which I played no role except for getting confirmed and immediately becoming useless!
:D

TEAL. WHY.

Man, I had all of you fooled so badly. Then Teal came along and ruined it all D:

GG everyone.

This would have to be the most broken role in the entire history of werewolf. Think about it. I get to know as soon as somebody uses a role for the 3rd time. I have an immunity to being lynched/eaten/shot/sirened/whatever once. And you think I get to shoot somebody on top of that? I don't care if the win condition is 'be the last man standing' (since at this point, we can probably assume that it is.) That would be extremely broken.
You copy my tactics at the eleventh hour and you still lost.

Scum.

Bag.

TEAPOT!!!

Well, at least you loser townies learned something - never trust anyone who lays all his cards out on the table like that. I'm just disappointed it took you that long to figure it out.

Ah well, I got a few nights of trolling in while I was still alive, so I definitely enjoyed myself.

DNA you're just mad because I blew your brains out. Twice. <3

EDIT: And I tried to shoot bisharp37. Which just proves how bad I am. Any smart player would have shot Hypnotic the instant they figured out he was a roleblocker.

also I had the amulet for the next night :|

DNA you're just mad because I blew your brains out. Twice. <3
Of course I'm mad at that; why wouldn't I be?

I should have just passed my Creepy Doll to someone the most likely to die and bail out ASAP, but then I wouldn't have gotten the chance to troll as often as possible.

Still, you're no fun.

Oh yeah, and whoever sent the old geezer(me) the Bouquet on Night 1, was doomed from the start, because I would've taken it to the grave.

Cept, I never needed a grave.

Well, it's finally over. Overall I was less pleased with this game than I was with WW12, but that's more because of things I did (or didn't do...) than what you guys did.

This game was, by and large, an experiment. I tested a few new roles, new mechanics, no straight seers, and tried hosting the largest game this site has ever seen.

I don't know about you guys, but I think that 43 is an absurd number of players. As arbitrary as 32 seems, it's kind of a good number. It took me a long time to figure out not only 43 different roles, but all the Items as well (more on that later). The game also really lost a lot of steam around Day 9 and 10 (when we had about a dozen players left, the difference between most games and this one), so take it from me, hosts - 32 seems to be an okay number.

Here is everyone's role and my thoughts on same. Role usage is included here. Shortcuts you will see are:

D/N# = Day/Night #
A# [name]= Ability # [used on name] (for players with only one ability that can be used, you will not see A#; for players who do not choose the target of their ability, you will not see a name)
NA = No Action (only if they submitted No Action; will not be shown if they did not submit any action)

So if you see (color used only for emphasis) N1A1 PMJ, NAN2, N4A3 WPM, that would mean that player:

- used Ability 1 on Night 1 on PMJ
- submitted No Action Night 2
- did not submit a PM for Night 3
- used Ability 3 on Night 4 on WPM

K? kgo.

1. Zyflair -> Reshiwott
Role: Luther Ecklin
Alignment: Town

You are Father Ecklin, a clergyman. You offer the Lord's protection to all. You wish your sister would see the light.

Ability 1: Holy Song
Once each Night, you may PM me the name of a player (excluding yourself). That player will be granted immunity from death for the duration of that Night. Your sister is just as devout to her Lord as you are to yours, so there's no telling what could happen if she intervened.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Ability usage (Zyflair): N1NA, N2 DNA, N3 ESP, N4 ComfortEagle
Ability usage (Reshiwott): N6 Teal, N8 Teal

Zyflair did okay despite protecting two non-town players. It was pretty early on so it was a forgivable mistake. Zyflair was replaced at his request, so that's always cool. Reshiwott did his best to protect Teal (a wise decision), but his opponents were one step ahead of him. Well played, you two.
2. One Approved
Role: Lloyd Mitchell
Alignment: None

You are Lloyd Mitchell. You're a really friendly sort of guy, and your goal is to make friends with everyone. Well, it would have been, had your wife not been ripped to shreds by a werewolf. Now, you're out for revenge, and you've got plenty of silver bullets. Fortunately for you, silver bullets kill humans just as well as regular bullets.

Ability 0: By the Grace of God
You will survive the first attempt on your life, be it by werewolf or by lynch.

Ability 0: One Eye Open
You will be notified whenever a player activates one of his or her abilities for a third time.

Ability 1: Thinning the Herd
Once each Night, you must PM me the name of a player excluding yourself. That player will be shot and killed. If you don't make a choice, one will be made for you.

Win Condition: Be the last player in the game or let nothing prevent the same

Ability usage: N1 Chillarmy, N2 Infinity, N2 DNA, N3 DNA, N4 ESP, N6 sillykyle, N7 superpokemon67, N8 The Yoshi, N9 Teal, N10 ShadowLugia, N11 Spammy, N12 Bisharp37

After DNA died, I was rooting for One Approved to win it all. Teapot made some pretty lulzy shots:

- He got the Amulet on Night 2, but both of his shots were blocked (Infinity was protected by dmaster (and Roari, actually, but dmaster's role had priority) and DNA was protected by Zyflair)
- He shot and killed almost every seer-like role the town had - not that mattered to the wolves because...
- He shot two out of six werewolves: ESP on Night 4 and The Yoshi on Night 8

Unfortunately, at the end of the game there were too many cleared townies and they scouted him out by process of elimination. It took two days to do, but the numbers were against him. Still, he fought hard and he's my personal MVP for this game.
3. DNA
Role: Joan Dearden
Alignment: None

You are Joan, a creepy girl who lives on the outskirts of Canton Falls. Everyone thinks you are strange and no one in town likes you. You're not skilled enough to kill anyone directly, but you'll be pleased with just screwing with everyone as much as you can.

Ability 1: Teehee
Once each odd-numbered Night, you may PM me "Cursing <player1> and <player2>", where <player1> and <player2> are living players. During the next Day, those players will have a vote weight of 0.

Ability 2: Forbidden!!
Once each even-numbered Night, you may PM me the name of a player (excluding yourself) and either the number 1 or the number 2. That player will be unable to use the ability that corresponds to that number (if any) during that Night.

Ability 3: La-dee-dah~
Once each Night, you may PM me the name of a player. That player will wake up the next day and have a mark on his head. It has no effect, but everyone will sure think it does!

Ability 4: Mum's the Word
Once every third night, you may PM me the names of three players. Those players will be restricted to 30 words per post during the next day.

You may choose the same target for multiple abilities if you wish.

Win Condition: Be alive when someone else dies holding the Creepy Doll or the Super Creepy Doll

Ability usage: N1A1 Zyflair, N1A1 Meaty, N1A3 Lucky Fire, N2A2 Lucky Fire (2), N2A3 Nature's Profit, N3A1 One Approved, N3A1 Shocker, N3A4 Shocker, N3A4 Argetlam, N3A4 Meaty

I laughed so much when I saw that DNA--Pokebeach's resident troll--drew this role. Of course, this was also bad because as much as I wanted him to win, it would be impossible since he was, as scum, guilty of helping the town right into their graves in WW12. It's because of him that helpful players are suspected as scum late game. Sure enough, he got barely any air time before Teapot shot him.

Of course, after DNA died and before he learned that it was Teapot who'd shot him, we got this gem in the chat:

[19:00:46] <DNA> teapot
[19:00:47] <DNA> avenge me

lolololololololol gg DNA
4. dmaster
Role: Karla
Alignment: None

You are Karla, an angel descended from the heavens. You appear human to everyone else. Your job is to save one poor soul from this bloody conflict, no matter what.

Ability 0: The Chosen One
Once a game at any time you may PM me the name of any player, excluding yourself. That player will become your Chosen for the rest of the game.

Ability 1: Angelic Force [locked]
Use The Chosen One to unlock this ability.

Win Condition [locked]: Use The Chosen One to unlock this win condition.

*******************************************************************
Ability 1: Angelic Force [unlocked]
Once a game at any time, you may use this ability if your Chosen has not died. Your Chosen will be protected from death for one Night/Day cycle. If your Chosen would die, you will die instead, even if your Chosen received outside protection at the same time.

Win Condition [unlocked]: Your Chosen survives to the end of the game

Ability usage: N1A0 Infinity, N2A1

Poor, poor dmaster, can't survive more than two nights in a WW game. As far as his role went, he did his job; predicted when his Chosen would die and used his ability to successfully protect him. Sadly, despite this, dmaster lost the game in the end.
5. ComfortEagle
Role: Eli Frazer
Alignment: Town

You are Eli Frazer, an eccentric inventor who makes up all sorts of crazy gadgets. As the inventor of the Lynch Machine, you have been tasked with its upkeep. Should you die, well...you don't know what would happen. Probably bad things.

Ability 1: Eureka!
As an inventor, you have the ability to create many different things, but because you are making them in a single night, they break after the night is over. Once each Night, you may PM me "Inventing <item> for <player>," where <item> is a Shoddy Bomb, Toy Robot, or Fishy Shield and <player> is a living player. You will give that player your invention, which they must use during that night.

Shoddy Bombs can be thrown at another player. If the bomb explodes, it will kill the person it is thrown at. If it doesn't explode, the bomb may fall apart or remain intact. If it remains intact, the person you threw it at may choose to throw it back at you (they won't know your identity), with the same chances of explosion. If, however, the bomb does not explode, it will definitely fall apart.

Toy Robots allow players to learn an ability name of a person they send it after.

Fishy Shields protect the holder from death.

These are not Items and players may hold them alongside actual Items.

You may not give yourself an invention, and you may not give out the same invention until you have given out the other two first.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Ability usage: N1 DNA (Toy Robot), N2 Nature's Profit (Shoddy Bomb), N3 ESP (Fishy Shield), N4 HypnoticLuxray (Toy Robot), N6 ShadowLugia (Shoddy Bomb), N7 Teal (Fishy Shield)

Nature's Profit chose to throw the bomb at Lucky Fire; it stayed intact, and she chose to throw it back. It exploded, and that was the end of him :]

Props to HypnoticLuxray for using the Toy Robot to out Dark Void as a werewolf. That said, his other ability's name was "Turncoat" so DV was pretty much screwed either way :x

ShadowLugia tossed the bomb back at TDL, not knowing it was TDL who had given it to him, lol. This bomb broke, but it wasn't that big a deal since TDL was a derp and got himself modkilled. Oh well!

There was a hidden mechanic that didn't get any use because by the time TDL died, de had already found his lover and unlocked the ability that fixed the Lynch Machine if it were to break. The way it worked was that every night the Lynch Machine was broken, there was a hidden chance it would malfunction and randomly lynch a living player. This chance would increase by a set percentage every day (randomly, with a bias towards the lower end). Stupid TDL living forever.
6. Riskbreakers
Role: Barney Strang
Alignment: Town

You are Barney Strang, the town nutcase. You have been crying out about the werewolves for years, and the citizens locked you up so you wouldn't spread your misinformation. You have been released thanks to Thomas Martin, that out-of-town reporter. Now that the werewolves have attacked, you don't want to live on this planet anymore. Time to get yourself killed.

Ability 0: Suicide Watch
You can't hold any Items. If someone attempts to pass an Item to you, the pass will fail, but you will learn who tried to make the pass at the start of the next Day. Furthermore, you are forbidden from claiming you are aligned with any faction but the town. Doing so could yield disastrous results.

Ability 1: Moonlight Conference
Once each night, you may PM me the names of two players. You will visit those two players for no effect.

Win Condition: Get lynched

Ability usage: N1 DNA, N1 ComfortEagle, N2 Infinity, N2 Lucky Fire

So people claimed in WW12 that I said I wasn't going to make a jester role. I don't know where I said that, but if you show me a quote I won't be surprised - even after my attempts at balancing the role by preventing him from claiming scum or indie, I failed. A note to every host after me: don't use jester. The role is too easy to win with. All you have to do is not post, or post just enough to stay in the game. Defend anyone and everyone so you get looked at when one of them flips scum. No one should be able to win that easily. Don't use this role.
7. ESP
Role: Jasper Black
Alignment: Werewolves

You are Jasper Black, a resident of the town. You fancy yourself a ventriloquist and you're actually pretty good at it. As a werewolf, this ability has been enhanced to even make you sound like other people.

Ability 0: Moonlight Conference
You have access to the Outskirts of Town sub-forum and may use it to communicate freely with the other werewolves.

Ability 0: The Price of Deceit
If you die, the next Night will be skipped.

Ability 1: Voice Throw
Once each Night, you may PM me a message of 10 words or less and the names of two living players. The first player will be the recipient of your message, and the second player will be the person I will say the message is from.

Win Condition: At least one werewolf-aligned player is alive when all other players are dead, or nothing can prevent the same

Ability usage: N1 Nengeni, Shocker; N2 alexmf, Riskbreakers; N3 Blob55, Lucky Fire; N4 Teal, King Arceus

Right, first: it is "Price" of Deceit, not "Prince." I don't know why no one could get that right. ESP mainly provided morale to the scum team; after hearing he was on their side, they figured they were gonna win. He caused a bit of trouble with his ability, which was all I could really ask.

And then he was shot.
8. Cinesra
Role: Mordecai Andrews
Alignment: Werewolves

You are young Mordecai Andrews, one of Canton Falls's newer residents. You and your family came here a few months ago from a neighboring town and you were converted on your first night here. During the day, you are an assistant to the mayor, so you're familiar with swaying the opinions of others. You will be using your supernatural powers to sway more than just opinions.

Ability 0: Moonlight Conference
You have access to the Outskirts of Town sub-forum and may use it to communicate freely with the other werewolves.

Ability 1: Swap Meet
Once each Night, you may PM me "Swapping <player1> and <player2>," where <player1> and <player2> are living players and not werewolves. If those two players target anyone with a Night ability, the abilities used to target them will be switched between your targets.

Ability 2: Sound Off
Once each Night, you may PM me a message of 10 words or less, which I will then forward to the editor-in-chief of the local paper. However, he has the final say in what goes to print, so you may find your submission edited. If the editor-in-chief dies, your submissions will no longer be subject to scrutiny before they are printed.

Win Condition: At least one werewolf-aligned player is alive when all other players are dead, or nothing can prevent the same

Ability usage: N1A2, N2A2, N3A2, N4A2

Stupid Cinesra not using Swap Meet at all and completely squandering Sound Off.
9. Dark Void
Role: Isaac Young
Alignment: Town

You are Isaac Young, a scientist. You came here with the intent of getting bitten by a werewolf so that you may become one, purely in the interest of science. Surely nothing will go wrong with this plan.

Ability 0: Turncoat
If you would be killed by a werewolf, you will join their side instead of dying. You will gain the werewolves' win condition as well.

Ability 0: Moonlight Conference [locked]
Die by a werewolf's hand to unlock this ability.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

*******************************************************************
Ability 0: Moonlight Conference [unlocked]
You have access to the Outskirts of Town sub-forum and may use it to communicate freely with the other werewolves.

This was another role I wanted to test out - someone who would join the scum team if they were to be killed. Fortunately, it happened. Unfortunately, his abilities were investigated the same night, and he was lynched the next day. u mad, Dark Void? Cause I am. Just a little.
10. Spammy
Role: William Brooks
Alignment: Town

You are Detective William Brooks of the local police force. You've decided to take a methodical approach to investigating the werewolf problem. How well it will work depends completely on your own instincts.

Ability 0: Compile Suspect List
Once a game, you may arrange the player list in whatever order you like and PM me that list.

Ability 1: The 411 [locked]
Use Compile Suspect List to unlock this ability.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

*******************************************************************
Ability 1: The 411 [unlocked]
Once each Night, you may use this ability. I will PM you the role PM of the topmost person on your list, then remove them from your list.

Ability usage: D1NA, D2NA, D3A0, N3A1, N4A1, N6A1, N6A1, N7A1, N8A1, N10A1, N10A1

Compiled suspect list:
Code:
1. Deus: Nightmare Autarch
2. Blob55
3. Lucky Fire
4. ComfortEagle
5. Riskbreakers
6. Rusticks
7. Shocker
8. Bisharp37
9. Dark Void
10. King Arceus
11. Teal
12. Cinesra
13. Zorua
14. HypnoticLuxray
15. TheGuy
16. King Piplup
17. Eevee
18. Chariblaze
19. Mokoko
20. ShadowLugia
21. Puff
22. Zyflair
23. sillykyle
24. superpokemon67
25. Blui129
26. Infinity
27. Non Sequitur
28. Roari
29. One Approved
30. Kecleon-X
31. Porygon-X
32. ESP
33. Blah
34. PMysterious
35. Meaty
36. Argetlam
37. The Yoshi
38. Spammy

This is the first change I made to the traditional seer role. Learning a player's alignment straight away is incredibly powerful. This twist on the seer role has the chance to hit big, but since you can't change the order of the players, it also has the chance to fail hard if the people you investigate die before you can investigate them. This role also has the distinction of seeing through Blui129's role cover, but he was so far down the list that in the end it didn't matter. A lot of his investigations were dead draws, which hurt because he survived for a really long time.
11. superpokemon67
Role: Lou Thurge
Alignment: Town

You are Lou Thurge, an oracle. You have the power to reveal secrets. Unfortunately, revealing people's secrets takes a LOT of energy, and the only way to conjure up that much energy is...

Ability 1: Secrets Revealed
Once each Night, you may PM me the names of 2 players. If you die during this night, their role PMs will be publicly revealed at the start of the next Day.

Ability 2: I Saw It In a Dream [locked]
Survive to Night 6 to unlock this ability.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

*******************************************************************

Ability 2: I Saw It In a Dream [unlocked]
Once each Night, you may PM me the names of 2 players. The first person will have a dream about the second person, revealing the second person's full role PM. You may not send dreams to yourself or about yourself.

Ability usage: N1A1 ComfortEagle, Glace; N2A1 alexmf2, ComfortEagle; N3A1 Lucky Fire, DNA; N4A1 Infinity, Teal; N6A1 ComfortEagle, Reshiwott; N6A2 Puff, Mokoko; N7A1 Puff, ShadowLugia; N7A2 ComfortEagle, Cinesra

This was my twist on the public role reveal role. It would reveal roles but only if the player died. The test here was in the second ability, which I decided would be too powerful to be availble early on. Sadly, it only got two uses before superpokemon67 was died, and the first dream was about Mokoko so there was no result. Oh well.
12. Teal
Role: Hugh Bellingham
Alignment: Town

You are Hugh Bellingham, mayor of Canton Falls. You are the richest man in town, but also fairly corrupt. You have no qualms about using your money to make things go the way you want them to.

Ability 1: Persuade
Once each Night you may PM me "Persuading <player> to say <thing>," where <player> is any player excluding yourself and <thing> is any message of ten words or less. You will visit <player> and leave him a fat wad of bills and a note, instructing him to say <thing> in public at any time during the next Day. If he doesn't, bad, bad things will happen to him.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Ability usage: N1 Eevee, N2 Blob55, N3 Eevee, N6 Blob55, N9NA

A candidate for Town-aligned MVP, Teal was a great help to the town - a complete 180 from his behavior in WW12, where he tried to kill everyone (and almost succeeded; he cut the game by about four Days). The scum were wiped out by the time people started noticed Teal was still alive so late in the game, so Teapot had to put him out of his misery. Did the scum figure there were bigger fish to fry? Who knows.
13. Glace
Role: Emma Barker
Alignment: Werewolves

You are Emma Barker, the Canton Falls Werewolf. Long thought dead, you have been living in secret as a werewolf. You have your sights set on terrorizing this town because you feel they didn't do enough to save you. It's time to get revenge.

Ability 0: Moonlight Conference
You have access to the Outskirts of Town sub-forum and may use it to communicate freely with the other werewolves.

Ability 1: Nexus
There is a 20% chance that any abilities that target you during Night will be randomly redirected. You will not know they have been redirected.

Ability 2: And Omega
Once each Night, you may PM me the names of a werewolf and a non-werewolf. The werewolf you chose will kill the non-werewolf you chose. If you die, this ability will be passed to a random werewolf.

Ability 3: Assert Dominance
Once a game during any Day, you may post, in bold, "CHALLENGING <player>," where <player> is a living player. All votes for the Day will be reset, and for the remainder of that Day, the only votes that can be cast are for you and <player>. You can't use this ability if the Paralyzer ability is in effect, or if 84 hours have passed since the start of that Day.

Win Condition: At least one werewolf-aligned player is alive when all other players are dead, or nothing can prevent the same

Ability usage: D2A3 Nature's Profit

Aaaand that's it. That is all Glace did. Didn't even send a kill on Night 1. Infinity hit yes on his role so Glace's reign as alpha wolf was pretty short-lived. He was lynched Day 2 so there ain't much else to say here.
14. Bisharp37
Role: Maxine Owens
Alignment: Town

You are a traveling gypsy here to do business in Canton Falls. Unlike that cockamamie fortune teller, your abilities are the real deal and you're gonna show everyone how it's done.

Ability 0: Pinkie Sense
You will learn the name of every ability you are targeted with at Night.

Ability 1: Spiritual Peek [locked]
Die to unlock this ability.

Ability 2: Gettar [locked]
Use Spiritual Peek to unlock this ability.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

*******************************************************************
Ability 1: Spiritual Peek [unlocked]
Once each Day, you may PM me the name of a player. You will learn their full role PM.

Ability 2: Gettar [unlocked]
During this Night, you may use your spirit powers to change the targets of the player you targeted with Spiritual Peek during this Day. The player will not know you have changed his target. You may not choose the same Day target consecutively, and you may use this ability only three times per game. This ability's usage or effect cannot be blocked, redirected, or otherwise influenced in any way.

> create role that works best when dead
> never dies
> okay.jpg

Talk about disappointment. Bisharp didn't really draw much attention to himself at all so he didn't get much use out of Pinkie Sense, either.
15. Zorua
Role: Gale
Alignment: None

You are Gale. You and Kronar came here in a time machine powered by equal parts rage and lust. Your favorite activities involve following the Indians until the end of time and hot licking. You're also terminally ill and need constant medication. Unfortunately for you, Kronar left your meds in your time and now you're stuck here. Because of this, you're not speaking to him right now. You're open to forgiving him, but only if he did something really cool.

Ability 0: Surgery Roulette
Each time the game switches between Day and Night, the chances of you succumbing to your plethora of illnesses increase by 5%.

Ability 0: Level 5 Death
If you live to see it, a random werewolf will die at the start each Day that is a multiple of 5.

Ability 0: Pity Party
You can't be lynched.

Ability 1: Teamwo
Once each Night, you may PM me the name of a player. If Kronar PMs me the same player's name, you each will learn that player's entire role PM.

Win Condition (Kronar is forgiven): Survive until the end of the game
Win Condition (Kronar is not forgiven): Kronar dies before you do

Ability usage: N1 Shocker, N2 Infinity

Zorua died, from Surgery Roulette, at the end of Day 2. This was probably the worst possible way he could have gone, and the fact that he died early only added insult to injury. This was a second twist I had on the seer role. It had the potential to be powerful - if they had unlocked their masonry, they would have become a powerful force for the town (or themselves). Unfortunately, Zorua died and Takeshi is incompetent, so what can you do?
16. HypnoticLuxray
Role: Albert Myers
Alignment: Town

You are Albert Myers, the oldest man in town. You have been around so long that even people in their forties call you "Grandpa," but you don't mind. With age comes wisdom, and you love to share that wisdom with others. You are the oldest man in town, however, and with age also comes dementia.

Ability 1: Cane of Some Area [locked]
Survive until Night 2 to unlock this ability.

Ability 2: Magic Cape [locked]
Survive until Night 5 to unlock this ability.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

*******************************************************************
Ability 1: Cane of Some Area [unlocked]
Once each even-numbered Night, you may PM me the name of a player (excluding yourself). That player will not be able to use any abilities that Night.

Ability 2: Magic Cape [unlocked]
Once each odd-numbered Night, you may PM me the name of a player (excluding yourself). That player will be granted immunity from death for the duration of that Night.

Ability usage: N2A1 DNA, N4A1 N6A1 TheGuy, N7A2 The Yoshi, N8A1 Teal, N9A2 ShadowLugia, N10A1 Spammy, N12A1 One Approved

HL was kinda weird not because of his abilities, but simply because once he got the Bouquet from The Yoshi N1, he held onto it for the entire game. I never understood why. Once The Yoshi died, he didn't even try to pass it to the shooter or whatever. Weird.
17. TheGuy
Role: Thomas Martin
Alignment: Town

You are Thomas Martin, a reporter who is looking to find the truth behind the Canton Falls Werewolf. Now that you're actually here and you've seen a dead body, you fear that you've bitten off more than you can chew. Still, you feel that it is your responsibility to solve this mystery once and for all and help make Canton Falls safe again.

Ability 1: Sound Off
Once each Night, you may PM me a message of 10 words or less, which I will then forward to the editor-in-chief of the local paper. However, he has the final say in what goes to print, so you may find your submission edited. If the editor-in-chief dies, your submissions will no longer be subject to scrutiny before they are printed.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Ability usage: N1, N2, N3, N6, N7, N8, N9, N10

At least he used the role to communicate with the town. He pretty much stopped after all the scum were dead, though.
18. King Piplup
Role: Emma Parker
Alignment: Town

You are Emma Parker, a young woman with an unfortunate name. You see, your name is almost identical to that of a young woman who was killed many years ago by the Canton Falls Werewolf. For that reason, people tend to treat you differently. While they would never go so far as to physically hurt you, it's still one of your greatest fears; you are fully prepared to defend yourself if you feel threatened.

Ability 0: Can't Sleep, Wolves Will Eat Me
If you are targeted by two or more players during any Night, you will receive a list of those players at the end of that Night. You must kill one of those players.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Tracey's nightmares return for another game and they still do nothing! This is a stupid role and I won't be using it again. I suggest no one else does, either.
19. Nengeni
Role: Phoebe
Alignment: None

You are a fortune teller known only as Phoebe. Though you do have some slight skill, you're more content scamming people out of their money.

Ability 0: Predict the Future
Once each Night, you may PM me "Predicting <x> will be lynched tomorrow," where <x> is either "no one" or the name of a player. If you guess right, you will find good fortune.

Ability 1: Sensor [locked]
Correctly "Predict the Future" once to unlock this ability.

Win Condition: Correctly "Predict the Future" twice

*******************************************************************

Ability 1: Sensor [unlocked]
Once a game during any Night, you may PM me to use this ability. I will tell you how many players on the previous Day's lynch wagon were not aligned with the town.

Ability usage: N1A0 no one, N2A0 Nature's Profit

Another role I debuted in this game. I think Nengeni could have won with this if he'd lived longer, but the wolves took him out before he could really get any mileage out of it. Hosts: be careful about using the Sensor role - it's ridiculously powerful.
20. Eevee
Role: Lucy Peters
Alignment: Town

You are Lucy Peters, a mechanical genius. You have a penchant for fixing broken things, and people are always coming to you with stuff for you to fix, despite not always being able to pay for it. You have decided to help rid Canton Falls of the wolves by blowing them to Kingdom Come in the most subtle way possible.

Ability 0: Fixer-upper
If you are ever in possession of an Item that requires fixing, you will fix it and learn its true purpose.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

I would say Eevee played poorly this game, but that would imply she actually played; not only did she not say anything about being able to fix Items (which is a huge reason why many of them didn't see the light of day), she hardly posted at all and I ended up modkilling her. She had a very important role and it seriously upset me to see her all but ignore it, especially since Items were a new mechanic that needed testing. Hosts: Beware of letting Eevee join your games. I would honestly advise against it.
21. Chariblaze
Role: Abigale Hinton
Alignment: Town

You are Abigale Hinton, newly widowed housewife. The death of your husband has made you restless at night.

Ability 1: Super Stalker
At any time, you may PM me the name of a player. Each Night, you will visit that player and track his movements. You will learn who the player targeted and who targeted the player. You will automatically receive this information at the start of the next Day. Once you make your selection, you cannot change it. (If your target dies, you will be allowed to make another selection.)

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Ability usage: D2 Lucky Fire, D6 Blah

I knew that this would be either a really strong town role or a really weak one depending on who was being stalked. Chariblaze chose Lucky Fire as his first stalking victim, and had she actually made use of her role, he might have gotten a little use out of his.

When she died, Blah convinced Chariblaze to target him. Probably the only thing Blah did right with his role.
22. Mokoko
Role: Falkner Banks
Alignment: Town

You are Falkner Banks, an old guy who spends his time feeding birds in his old age. Nothing really bothers you.

Ability 0: Ascetic
You are immune to all non-lethal ability effects.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

The Ascetic part didn't come into play until superpokemon67 tried making Teal have a dream about Mokoko. This role might get more usage out of a smaller game (or if more people had it). This role was completely vanilla otherwise and I would suggest if you give someone an Ascetic modifier, give them other abilities too. Make their immunity worth having.
23. ShadowLugia
Role: Amos Abernathy
Alignment: Town

You are Detective Amos Abernathy of the local police force. The werewolf attack has gotten you scared silly. You are determined to bring the werewolves to justice, though.

Ability 1: R-R-Research
Once each Night, you may PM me the name of any player other than yourself. That player's alignment will be revealed to you at the start of the next Day.

Hidden Ability 0: Green
All your investigations will return the opposite result. Indies will appear to be sided with the werewolves if they are not a threat to the town and sided with the town if they are.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Ability usage: N1 ComfortEagle, N2 DNA, N3 Zyflair, N6 Blui129, N8 The Yoshi, N9 Teal

This was another twist I decided to add - the paranoid cop. Unfortunately, the reveal of the Incriminate ability kind of cheapened this role, since everyone figured that the only reason ShadowLugia was getting so many scum hits was that they were also Incriminated. Kecleon-X lived for a long time, so unfortunately this theory had a lot of merit.

SL also never investigated anyone Night 10 (the night Kecleon-X died), which is unfortunate because Roari saved him from getting shot and he could have gotten more investigations out. I really did not want to modkill him... oh well.
24. Puff
Role: Morty Evans
Alignment: Town

You are Morty Evans, a citizen of a nearby town. You and your trusty gun are determined to bring the werewolves to justice, but you want to keep to the shadows so as not to draw attention to yourself.

Ability 0: Ready Aim Fire
If you are lynched, you may shoot and kill any player you wish. (You have 24 hours to make a decision.)

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Puff's role was spilled to everyone when superpokemon67 died. As a result, he was cleared as Town and thus never got to shoot. Had he not been, things may have been different.
25. Shocker
Role: Genevieve Barswick
Alignment: Town

You are the smokin' hot Genny Barswick, the most beautiful woman in town. Unfortunately, you're a mime, and that's probably the biggest reason you're still a virgin despite the fact that you are highly intelligent, very flexible, and extremely talented with every part of your body.

Ability 0: One Twenty-Two
You will learn almost any ability that you are targeted with, provided you survive the Night; however, you are limited to 1 action per Night regardless of how many abilities you have learned. You will receive an updated role PM with every new ability you learn.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Bonus abilities learned:

Code:
Ability 1: Incriminate
Once each Night, you may PM me the names of 3 players. If any of those players' alignments are investigated, they will appear to be sided with the werewolves. If there are 30 or less players remaining, you may only PM 2 players. If there are 15 or less players remaining, you may only PM 1 player.

Ability 2: Teehee
Once each odd-numbered Night, you may PM me "Cursing <player1> and <player2>", where <player1> and <player2> are living players. During the next Day, those players will have a vote weight of 0.

Ability usage: N4NA

This was a neat ability that ended up causing some discomfort for the town (and sort of ruining ShadowLugia's role by legitimizing all of his scum hits). It also would have been better served in a smaller game.
26. alexmf2 -> sillykyle
Role: Edwin Boyd
Alignment: Town

You are Edwin Boyd, a thief. You are very good at what you do, so good that no one in town has ever caught you.

Ability 0: Cheat Sheet
While you don't know their usage, you do know there are nine Items in the game. They are, in alphabetical order:
- a Badge
- a Bouquet
- a Clock
- a Cracked Orb
- a Creepy Doll
- a Dirty Magazine
- a Megaphone
- a Mysterious Amulet
- a Trader's List

Ability 0: Thief Sense
If a player dies while holding an Item, his role name will be highlighted in red in his death flip.

Ability 1: Item Swiper
Once each Night, you may PM me "Pickpocketing <player>" where <player> is the a player, living or dead. If that person has an Item, you will steal it. This theft supersedes the manual passing of an Item. You may both pass and attempt to steal an Item in the same Night, but if your pass fails, your theft will obviously fail as well.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Ability usage (alexmf2): N1 HypnoticLuxray, N2 DNA
Ability usage (sillykyle): N3 Nengeni, N6 Glace

This role suffered from also being in a large game; there needed to be either more Items, less players, or both. sillykle did use this to steal the Trader's List from Negneni's corpse; when he tried stealing the item on Glace's dead body (a bomb), he had to pass the List off first. But since he tried passing it to HypnoticLuxray (who was holding the Bouquet like it was his lifeline), his pass failed, so his theft failed. Glace's body exploded the next Day, so HypnoticLuxray actually saved sillykyle's life. :3
27. King Arceus
Role: Lance Dalton
Alignment: Town

You are Lance Dalton, a stupid nerd with a huge mouth. You are always running around in a cape thinking you're cooler than everyone else.

Ability 1: Love Connection
Once each Night, you may PM me the name of a player. If that player is the person who sent you the love note, you two will begin dating and great things will happen.

Ability 2: Sexy Time [locked]
Find the note sender to unlock this ability.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

*******************************************************************
"Dear King Arceus,

I have been watching you from afar. I love your cape and think you look sexy. I am too afraid to reveal myself, so you'll have to come find me~"

Ability 2: Sexy Time [unlocked]
Once a game during any Night, you may use this ability. You will have sex with your girlfriend. Afterwards, you will feel so manly and powerful that you will block all attempts at both your life and the life of your girlfriend. Furthermore, your would-be killer(s) will have a severe posting restriction placed upon them on the next Day. In addition to this, if the Lynch Machine is broken, you will work with your girlfriend and fix it at the start of the following Day. The town will be so happy with your work that both you and your girlfriend will be immune to the lynch on that Day. Lastly, you may speak to your girlfriend privately for the remainder of the game.

Ability usage: N2A1 Lucky Fire, N3A1 Eevee, N6A1 Rusticks, N8A2

Early on, de tried finding a couple people, but basically stopped until Rusticks went out and screamed for de to find him. He stopped the Lynch Machine from malfunctioning (a cool mechanic that didn't get any use because of the timing of TDL's death; see his role for more info). One Approved tried framing him as the shooter, but that didn't work out very well.
28. Blui129
Role: Lord Byron of Snoofingsville
Alignment: None

You are a strange fellow whose real name is unknown. For some reason, you insist that people refer to you as Lord Byron of Snoofingsville. Not much else is known about you other than your strange obsession with dead bodies.

Ability 0: Snoof Powers Activate!!
Once a game, you may PM me the name of any dead player (excluding modkilled players). You will take that player's role and everything that goes with it, including alignment and win condition. (Any unlocked abilities must be unlocked again.) Upon your death, your role will be shown as whatever role you have taken.

Win Condition: None

Ability usage: N1NA, N2NA, N4NA, N8NA, N9 Zorua

This was supposed to be a really fun role, but Blui took advantage of something I overlooked (copying indie roles) and used it to win instantly. The point was to have a player choose which team he wanted to be on. I had no idea what he was planning since many good roles were ripe for the picking, but he decided to wait until Night 9 and copy Zorua's role. He survived Surgery Roulette and won instantly on Day 10. Why he waited so long is beyond me.
29. Infinity
Role: Mary Elizabeth Ladley
Alignment: Town

You are Mary Elizabeth Ladley, a self-proclaimed seer. People come to you with their questions, and the spirits give you answers. You guard the secret to your ability to talking with the spirits with your life, for if anyone found out, they might just put you out of business.

Ability 1: Magic 8-Ball
Once each Night, you may ask me "Can I see <player>'s role PM?" where <player> is the name of any player. The answer you get will be either positive, negative, or noncommittal. You won't get results with a noncommittal answer, but each noncommittal answer has an effect on the question you ask tomorrow.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Ability usage: N1 Glace, N2 Teal, N4 King Piplup, N6 ShadowLugia

This role I actually got from Sean (in the chat room). When I was designing the game and asking for Item suggestions, he came up with two - a dart and a magic 8-ball. I didn't really see how a dart would work as an Item since I wanted it to be something a player could use and still keep. Instead of making the magic 8-ball an Item, I used it instead of this role's original abilities. This way, there was another seer, but it wasn't guaranteed.

The role worked exactly like a magic 8-ball does: You ask it a question, shake it, and your answer is revealed. Typical magic 8-balls have 20 different answers - 10 positive, 5 negative, and 5 noncommittal. I didn't want there to be a bias towards any end, so I trimmed the positive answers down to five. Since noncommittal answers don't really help for the purposes of this game, I added hidden effects to each one. One of them made the answer tomorrow always yes, one of them made the answer tomorrow always no, two of them would remove the noncommittal responses tomorrow, and one of them simply had no effect.

Infinity had really bad luck with this role. The only yes answer he got was from his Night 1 investigation of Glace. Night 2 he got a noncommittal response which would have removed them all the next night, but his Night 3 usage was submitted past deadline. Night 4 he got another noncommittal response, but he got the one that made the next answer always no, so when he investigated ShadowLugia Night 6 (remember there was no Night 5), he got nothing. The town got pretty upset with him since he claimed seer and got almost no results, so lulz
30. Nature's Profit
Role: Bhikshu
Alignment: Town

You are Bhikshu, a monk. You have visited this tainted town in an attempt to purify it in your own way. You pray fervently every night.

Ability 1: Paula
Once each night, you must pray about any one item on this list:

1. The sun
2. The moon
3. A rope
4. A bird
5. A flask
6. The letter C
7. A flag
8. An axe
9. A coin

The effect of each prayer is unknown to you, but you do know that God works in mysterious ways. Your teachings also prevent you from praying for any one thing more than once. If you forget to pray during any given Night, God will demand your body as a sacrifice and you will commit suicide to please Him.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Ability usage: N1 (a rope), N2 (an axe)

Prayer effects:

Code:
1. The sun (Next Day lasts 1 day instead of 1 week)
2. The moon (Next Night lasts 1 day instead of 3 days)
3. A rope (all players lynch votes count double for the next Day)
4. A bird (all players can speak to each other privately)
5. A flask (all Items are automatically returned to the players who started with them)
6. The letter C (all players must talk in ALL CAPS during the next day)
7. A flag (all votes are submitted privately during the next day)
8. An axe (each player restricted to 5 posts that Day)
9. A coin (30% chance a player's Night targets will be made public)

This was a role that was sadly cut short. NP was the victim of the bomb that was given to him by TDL; it didn't explode when he threw it at Lucky Fire, and when she threw it back at him, it blew up. lulz.

The town only got a small taste of this role, on Day 2. When NP prayed on Night 2, he was role blocked by PMysterious, so it never came into effect. I would definitely bring this role back for future games.
31. Non Sequitur -> doublenikesocks
Role: Chuck Grimes
Alignment: Town

You are Chuck Grimes, a thief. You're pretty good at what you do, despite being such a huge guy.

Ability 0: Quick Pass
You can't hold an Item for more than 2 Nights. The Item will be randomly passed to a player who isn't holding an Item at the end of the second Night.

Ability 1: Jack
Once each Night, you may PM me "Pickpocketing <player>" where <player> is the a player, living or dead. If that person has an Item, you will steal it. This theft supersedes the manual passing of an Item. You may both pass and attempt to steal an Item in the same Night, but if your pass fails, your theft will obviously fail as well.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Ability usage (Non Sequitur): N1 Teal
Ability usage (doublenikesocks): N6 DNA

I decided to add a second thief just because there were so many players, but neither of these guys really even tried to steal anything (Teal did get his Item stolen though, so weeeee).
32. Lucky Fire
Role: Calvin Andobs
Alignment: Town

You are Calvin Andobs, a civilian expert consultant for the police force. Your specialty is human behavior, and you claim everyone has a tell. You'll be using your freakish knowledge of social mannerisms to help the town find werewolves. You also have a pet tiger.

Ability 1: Hello, How Are You?
Once each Day, you may PM me the name of a player and a question you would like to anonymously ask that player about his or her role PM. During the following Night, I will send that player your question. When he replies, any lies in his reply will be highlighted in red. You are obsessed with fairness, however, so you may not ask questions involving a player's win condition or alignment, and all of your messages must begin with the question "Hello, how are you?" or they will not be sent.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Lucky Fire screwed this role up. It was a really fun role but the one time she used it, she didn't ask about her target's role PM, so it was never sent. Way to go. >:[
33. Blob55
Role: Kronar
Alignment: None

You are Kronar. You and Gale came here in a time machine powered by equal parts rage and lust. You forgot to bring Gale's medicine with you, essentially sentencing him to death. He's rightfully upset about this, so he isn't speaking to you right now. Is there any way you could possibly make up for this blunder?

Ability 0: Bloody Sacrifice
Every time a werewolf is killed (but not lynched), the chances of Gale losing at Surgery Roulette decrease by 20%. If you are killed (but not lynched), the chances of Gale losing at Surgery Roulette decrease by 50%. If a werewolf is lynched and you were on his or her wagon that Day, Gale will forgive you and you will be able to speak to him freely.

Ability 1: Investigate Mk II
Once each Night, you may PM me the name of a player. You will learn one of their ability names, chosen at random. You may choose the same person on multiple nights to learn different ability names.

Ability 2: rkScan
Once each Night, you may PM me the name of a player. If Gale PMs me the same player's name, you will each learn that player's entire role PM.

Win Condition: Gale survives until the end of the game

Ability usage: N1A1 Bisharp37, N1A2 Teal, N2A1 Bisharp37, N2A2 Infinity, N3A1 DNA, N3A2 Zyflair, N6A1 Mokoko

The combination of Kronar and Gale could have proven themselves a major threat for the wolves, but thanks to some bad luck, Zorua (Gale) died extremely early and Takeshi didn't really have much chance to make use of Bloody Sacrifice. That said, this role is all but worthless if Gale is dead since I never gave this role an out if it happened. In hindsight, I honestly didn't expect Gale to die so early. I even made Bloody Sacrifice easy enough to unlock. Unfortunately, after she realized that scanning future players was useless, Takeshi basically stopped playing about halfway into the game and she was crushed by the hand of Almighty Black God for it. I have to take partial blame for this because I should have revealed that there was a possibility that dead players' roles might come back. With her only win condition rendered unfulfillable, I can sort of understand losing the motivation to play.

It is noteworthy that she and Zorua both submitted Infinity's name on Night 2 for their teamwork scan ability (without having been masons), but that's the only noteworthy thing either of them accomplished.
34. Kecleon-X
Role: Bryce Hutchins
Alignment: Werewolves

You are Bryce Hutchins, a tailor. Becoming a werewolf has made you extra-strength stealthy, so that you may sneak into people's houses undetected.

Ability 0: Moonlight Conference
You have access to the Outskirts of Town sub-forum and may use it to communicate freely with the other werewolves.

Win Condition: At least one werewolf-aligned player is alive when all other players are dead, or nothing can prevent the same

Ability usage: N2 Lucky Fire, Shocker, Nature's Profit

Kecleon-X's sole usage of his Incriminate ability probably caused the most chaos the town experienced. Targeting Shocker with it gave him access to the ability; once Shocker blabbed its existence to the town, no wolf reveals could be completely trusted as long as Kecleon-X lived. For reasons unknown, ShadowLugia stopped submitting his night action the night after Kecleon-X was lynched. This kinda made me mad bro since the whole reason I added a paranoid seer was to screw with the town. Jerk.

Amusing note: As the sole surviving wolf, Kecleon-X received the killing role on Day 9, after The Yoshi was shot by Teapot the night before. Kecleon-X was lynched that same Day, making him the record holder for shortest lived alpha wolf.
35. Porygon-X
Role: Zebulon Miller
Alignment: Town

What kind of name is Zebulon, anyway? That's the question you frequently get asked. Needless to say, you had your fair share of teasing as a kid, and you responded by kicking the stuffing out of them. As a result, you are seen as a bully and one of the most hated people in town. The only reason you haven't been lynched is because Thomas Martin insists you get a fair shake.

Ability 0: Revenge of the Teased
If your alignment is investigated, it will return as "Werewolves."

Ability 0: Enhance Your Calm, John Spartan
The werewolves are everywhere and you're mad as hell. So much so that if a werewolf goes to kill you, you will kill him before succumbing to your injuries. Each Day you will calm down a little more and be 10% less likely to kill your killer.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

There isn't much to say here. It functions best if it gets hit early, and it was hit Night 3 when ESP convinced his alpha to kill Porygon-X instead of Shocker. The 70% kill went through and the wolves were down one.
36. Rusticks
Role: Jasmine Deloreaux
Alignment: Town

You are a rather quiet girl who isn't from around here. People admire your steely resolve in the face of danger. Recently, you spotted a nerd in a cape, but you're too shy to approach him.

Ability 0: Nerds Are Sexy
You have left a love note for the biggest nerd in town to find. If he finds you, you two will begin dating and great things will happen.

Ability 1: Do Not Lead, For I May Not Follow... Okay I'm Totally Gonna Follow
Once each Night, you may PM me the names of 2 players. You will learn what actions, if any, that player performed last night, but not who they performed those actions on. If there are 20 or less players remaining, you may only PM 1 player.

Ability 2: Assertiveness Pays Off [locked]
Be found by the nerd to unlock this ability.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

*******************************************************************
Ability 2: Assertiveness Pays Off [unlocked]
Both you and your boyfriend have a vote weight of 2. In addition to this, you may speak privately with your boyfriend for the remainder of the game.

Considering that both Rusticks and King Arceus lived to the end of the game, this had the potential to be a powerful weapon for the town. It's this doublevoting ability that got Blah lynched on Day 11. Unfortunately Rusticks was MIA for the end of the game and he wound up modkilled. Too bad; him and de could have run the town through the power of their votes alone.
37. Blah
Role: Julia the Scorned
Alignment: None

You are a siren. You sing, and people who hear your song die. Invent your own back story, I don't care. Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to come up with 40+ unique and cool blurbs for all these characters?

Ability 1: Perish Song
Once each Night, you may PM me the name of a player. If that player visits you, he will die.

Win Condition: Kill 2 players

Ability usage: N1 Dark Void, N3 Teal, N4 TDL, N6 Chariblaze, N7 HypnoticLuxray, N8 Bisharp37, N9 King Arceus, N9 Blui129

Blah used this role all wrong.

If your win condition involves people visiting you, you should be trying to get people to visit you in the night. Counterclaiming is a great way to do that. A situation that comes readily to mind is when King Arceus mentioned looking for someone. Had Blah piped up right away, KA might have gone to him before Rusticks. If that had happened, the Lynch Machine never would have been fixed and who knows how the game could have turned out.

Once it was made clear that Zyflair was priest, Blah could have claimed seer and asked for his protection.

He did kind of do it right when he made a fake role claim during Day 6, but by then people were already a bit skeptical of his intentions; when Day 7 rolled around and Chariblaze wound up dead, it cemented his status as a dangerous indie and the town made sure to steer clear of him for the rest of the game.

There were more missed opportunities but I never made specific note of them. Counterclaiming Rusticks was the biggest one that I took notice of.
38. PMysterious
Role: Sean
Alignment: Werewolves

You are Sean, a sad little boy who was converted when he was wandering alone in the woods after dark. Now you are the saddest werewolf ever. No one likes you, probably because of your poor attitude.

Ability 0: Moonlight Conference
You have access to the Outskirts of Town sub-forum and may use it to communicate freely with the other werewolves.

Ability 1: Live Stream
You have a bad attitude and are an annoyance to everyone. Once each Night you may PM me the name of a player. You will visit that player and ask him to watch your live stream on YouTube and be your friend. That player will respond with an emphatic NO, but that won't stop you! You'll spend the whole night begging him to watch, even from outside his house. He'll be so distracted by your whining that he will be unable to use any abilities.

Ability 2: Paralyzer
Three times per game during any Day, you may use this ability. All votes that have been submitted will be locked and unable to be changed. (If a player hasn't voted, it will be locked as soon as it is submitted.)

Win Condition: At least one werewolf-aligned player is alive when all other players are dead, or nothing can prevent the same

Ability usage: D1A2, N2A1 Nature's Profit

Sean should be honored but instead he'll probably just be butthurt and qq moar.

Newcomer PMysterious got a little out of his ability; he managed to shake up the town on the very first day when he locked the votes. He met an untimely end Night 3 when he was revenge killed by Porygon-X, which is a shame. The wolves died off way too quickly (this is entirely Teapot's fault).
39. Meaty
Role: Big Eddie
Alignment: Town

You are Big Eddie, town executioner. Everyone--and I do mean everyone--is afraid of you. They call you "Big" Eddie for a reason - you're built like a truck and hit like one, too.

Ability 1: Okay, I've Heard Enough
Once per game during any Day, if any player has half the Day's required lynch votes (rounded up), you may post (in bold) in the game thread, "Okay, I've heard enough." If you do, you will lynch that player yourself and end the Day. (You will be outed as the source of this kill.)

Ability 2: Beast Mode
If you are voted to be lynched, you will snap the rope due to your tremendous size and survive the attempt. After this, stronger rope will be used, so you won't live through the next one.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Ability usage: D3

After Meaty used his ability to lynch Riskbreakers on Day 3, he pretty much fell off the game radar entirely. He didn't do much past Day 3 anyway and was just another modkilled player in the end.
40. corn bread
Role: Whitney Cain
Alignment: Town

You are Whitney Cain, a little girl who likes to mimic people. Though appearing plain on the outside, you are anything but normal.

Ability 0: Virgin
If you are lynched, no town-aligned players will die during the following Night.

Ability 0: Shiny New Toy
Items you are holding can't be stolen. If someone passes you an Item while you have one in hand, you will swap your Item for theirs.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

I'll be honest, I was a little disappointed. I was anxious to see how corn bread would handle himself this game, especially after his performance in WW12. Unfortunately, realizing he was worth more to the town dead than alive (which wasn't exactly true), he volunteered himself for Day 1's lynch. This cleared Chillarmy (later Argetlam) as town, but neither Chillarmy nor Argetlam were terribly active. It's a shame. Oh well. corn bread is still an up-and-coming rookie and you should be watchful for him in future games.
41. Chillarmy -> Argetlam
Role: Cole Quimby
Alignment: Town

You are Cole Quimby, editor-in-chief for the local paper. With interest in the Canton Falls Werewolf at an all-time high, business is very, very good.

Ability 1: Read All About It
Once each Night, you may PM me a message of 10 words or less that I will anonymously share with the town at the start of the next Day.

Ability 2: If You Don't Like It, There's the Door
As the editor-in-chief, you have the final say as to what goes in your newspaper. Some nights you may receive messages from outside sources. If you allow it, I will post these messages along with any that you send me with Read All About It. You may also edit these outside sources in any way you like before they are posted.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Ability usage (Chillarmy): N1NA, N2
Ability usage (Argetlam): N3, N8

This role was also kind of an experiment, but its effectiveness relied on the messages submitted to it. Both TheGuy and Cinesra sent messages in, and I think only Chillarmy vetoed one of TheGuy's messages once. Cinesra wasted his role by trolling so whatever. This is kind of a hard role to keep track of because it requires the editor-in-chief to be online a lot so he can approve the messages in a timely manner. It also requires me to actually send the messages to the editor-in-chief, but that's neither here nor there.
42. The Yoshi
Role: Tristan Harroway
Alignment: Werewolves

You are Tristan Harroway, a former investment banker. You enjoy being a werewolf because it has given you supernatural powers.

Ability 0: Moonlight Conference
You have access to the Outskirts of Town sub-forum and may use it to communicate freely with the other werewolves.

Ability 1: Item Tracker
Whenever you get an Item, you will cover it in your scent. The scent will remain when you pass the Item, allowing you to know at all times who is holding it. This effects every Item that comes into your possession, and you will learn this information at the start of each Day. If an Item changes form, however, you will lose the ability to track it until you regain possession of it.

Win Condition: At least one werewolf-aligned player is alive when all other players are dead, or nothing can prevent the same

This could have been a strong role for the wolves, had any of them ever possessed any Items. The only mileage The Yoshi got out of this role is learning that HypnoticLuxray kept the Bouquet for pretty much the entire game. The Yoshi got the Dirty Magazine later on, but he was shot by Teapot before he could pass it on. After Glace's outing as scum, The Yoshi picked up the alpha role and performed admirably enough.

43. Roari
Role: Blair Ecklin
Alignment: Town

You are Blair Ecklin, a Satanist. You spread His word faithfully. Your brother is very disappointed in you. Your lord is not. Even though you worship the devil, you are terrified of the werewolves and are working hard to make Canton Falls a safe place for all, devil worshipers and nonbelievers alike.

Ability 1: Bloody Lance
Once each Night, you may PM me the name of a player other than yourself. That player will be protected from death for the duration of that Night, but no one screws the devil out of His souls; he'll take yours in exchange for theirs.

Win Condition: At least one town-aligned player is alive when all threats to the town have been eliminated

Ability usage: N1NA, N2 Infinity, N3 Infinity, N4NA, N6NA, N7NA, N8NA, N9 ShadowLugia, N10 ShadowLugia

Roari, a player who seemingly joined PokeBeach just to be a part of this game, actually kept up with it pretty well despite not posting much. Later on in the game he claimed the role of Zyflair's (later Reshiwott's) sister. As you can see, he was very careful in his protections, many times choosing not to protect rather than protect an unclear. His protection of Infinity on Night 2 was right on the money, but dmaster's role took priority, so dmaster died instead of Roari. He finally got to do his job on Night 10 when Teapot tried to shoot ShadowLugia. In the end, I'd say it mattered; it left one more cleared townie for Teapot to try to get past.

Now I'll do a brief overview on each of the Items in the game, who held them, what they could have transformed into (did you guys forget about that?), and my thoughts on same.

1. The Badge
Started with: Hugh Bellingham (Teal)
Effect: +1 vote weight
Can Transform?: Yes, into Polished Badge
Method of Transformation: Held by Lucy Peters (Eevee)
Thoughts: This was held by Teal for almost the entire game; Non Sequitur stole it Night 1 and kept it for two nights. He dropped it because of his role effect, at which point random.org decided Teal would get it and he held it until he died.
2. The Bouquet
Started with: Tristan Harroway (The Yoshi)
Effect: Kill the last player to hold it if held upon death
Can Transform?: No
Method of Transformation: N/A
Thoughts: HypnoticLuxray singlehandedly ruined this Item for me. Turning the Lover role into an Item was, I think, one of the coolest ideas I had. I expected players to pass this around like a hot potato - after all, who wants to get saddled with this thing? Apparently HypnoticLuxray did; after The Yoshi passed it to him Night 1, he held it for pretty much the whole game. Hilariously enough, when HypnoticLuxray finally did try to pass it, he tried passing it to The Yoshi, not knowing it was The Yoshi who passed it to him in the first place. But by that time, The Yoshi was holding another Item, so the pass failed.
3. The Cracked Orb
Started with: Edwin Boyd (alexmf2)
Effect: none
Can Transform?: Yes, into Null Orb
Method of Transformation: Held by Lucy Peters (Eevee)
Thoughts: This Item was made to be fixed; it had no use otherwise. If Eevee had said anything about being able to fix broken things at any point in the game, alex might have tried to give this thing to her. Instead, he pawned it off on ShadowLugia, who in turn dropped it in ESP's lap. He died with it and that was the end of that.
4. The Creepy Doll
Started with: Joan Dearden (DNA)
Effect: Lynched at L-1
Can Transform?: Yes, into Smiling Doll
Method of Transformation: Held by Lucy Peters (Eevee)
Thoughts: This was the key to DNA's win condition, although DNA landing the Joan role was a double-edged sword. It's also the only Item capable of transforming twice. DNA passed it to Meaty on Night 1, who in turn gave it to Dark Void on Night 2. He held it for three nights and died holding it. DNA was dead by that time, however.
5. The Dirty Magazine
Started with: Sean (PMysterious)
Effect: Cannot vote
Can Transform?: No
Method of Transformation: N/A
Thoughts: Well, it was passed around a lot. Chain of ownership: PMysterious - King Piplup - Shocker - Meaty - Meaty - The Yoshi - The Yoshi, who died holding it.
6. The Homemade Time Bomb
Started with: Lucy Peters (Eevee)
Effect: Disguised as a clock; kills whoever is holding it when preprogrammed time passes
Can Transform?: No
Method of Transformation: N/A
Thoughts: This marks Eevee's only contribution to the game. She set the timer (for Night 6), passed it on, and that was it. She passed it to Glace, who ended up getting lynched on day 2 thanks to Infinity. This, of course, didn't mean anything because both of thief roles were still in the game. alexmf2 was the only one with the ability to spot corpses holding Items, though, and he didn't take any interest in Glace's item. When alexmf2 was replaced with sillykyle, sillykyle went grave robbing, stealing Nengeni's Item instantly after inheriting the role. On Night 6, he tried to pawn the Trader's List off on HypnoticLuxray so he could steal the item Glace was holding, but couldn't because of HypnoticLuxray's super glue-like attachment to the Bouquet. The bomb exploded the next Day, so it wound up saving sillykyle's life.
7. The Megaphone
Started with: Lou Thurge (superpokemon67)
Effect: Can vote after death
Can Transform?: No
Method of Transformation: N/A
Thoughts: superpokemon67 literally held this Item for the entire game. He never passed it, and no one tried to steal it from him. By the time he died, both the thieves were dead and Blui was out of the game, so there was no chance of having it stolen from him. He got a little use out of it, which caused a couple people to scratch their heads. :>
8. The Mysterious Amulet
Started with: Genevieve Barswick (Shocker)
Effect: Can use a night action twice in one night
Can Transform?: No
Method of Transformation: N/A
Thoughts: I liked the idea of a role that could power up other roles, but I didn't want it to stay in the hands of a single player. To balance it, I made it so it would randomly change hands every night; because of that it was guaranteed to never be out of the game. Chain of ownership: Shocker - One Approved - Porygon-X - Mokoko - Zyflair - Spammy - Kecleon-X - Roari - Blui129 - Spammy - King Arceus - Bisharp37 - One Approved.
9. The Null Orb (Transformation Item)
Started with: N/A (Transformed from Cracked Orb)
Effect: Prevents ability usage
Can Transform?: No
Method of Transformation: N/A
Thoughts: Probably would have done something cool, but never did. I blame Eevee.
10. The Smiling Doll (Transformation Item)
Started with: N/A (Transformed from Creepy Doll)
Effect: none
Can Transform?: Yes, into Super Creepy Doll
Method of Transformation: Held by Joan Dearden (DNA)
Thoughts: Because Eevee had the power to change almost every Item in the game, and the Creepy Doll was directly tied to Joan's win condition, I needed a way for Joan to still be able to win if this happened. In hindsight, this was an awfully complicated process due to the sheer amount of players. It might have been different if Joan had gone to anyone other than DNA, but come on now. DNA getting the only deliberate trolling role in the whole game on a 1/43 dice roll? You can't ask for better.
11. The Super Creepy Doll (Transformation Item)
Started with: N/A (Transformed from Smiling Doll)
Effect: Lynched at L-2
Can Transform?: No
Method of Transformation: N/A
Thoughts: I included this only as a failsafe in the event Lucy got ahold of the Creepy Doll. It's pretty powerful in the late game but there were too many people to realistically bring it into play.
12. The Trader's List
Started with: Phoebe (Nengeni)
Effect: Learn names of all players holding Items
Can Transform?: No
Method of Transformation: N/A
Thoughts: A powerful Item, held by Nengeni during his brief stint among the living. sillykyle stole it after inheriting alexmf2's thief role, and held it until Teapot shot him dead.

And, for lulz, a couple Items that didn't make it in:

The Super Trader's List (Transformation Item)
Effect: Learn names of all players holding Items and which Items they are holding
Can Transform?: No
Method of Transformation: Held by Lucy Peters
Thoughts: I axed this because I figured it would be too powerful. Am I right?
The Medicinal Theory -> Scribbles -> Anti-Werewolf Spray
Effect: none -> none -> Guard against werewolf attacks
Can Transform?: Yes, into Scribbles -> Yes, into Anti-Werewolf Spray -> No
Method of Transformation: Held by Lucy Peters -> Held by unused role -> N/A
Thoughts: Removed because if the scum ever got their hands on it, they'd never let it go, and Item hoarding was something I didn't want. Not only that, but in the end I wanted all the Items to be faction-neutral; it wouldn't matter which team got the Items because they could both make use of them.

Whew. I think that's everything. Some final thoughts: I think that Items have the potential to work, but it's not for a huge amount of players. And speaking of, 32 is still looking good, but I think that even with that many, people start getting bored towards the end. I think I'm going to try going in a different direction with my next game and cut the normal number and see how that goes.

To all the people who joined PokeBeach just for this game: Thanks for joining. Hope to see you in future games; try sticking around the site next time, we're pretty cool.

I'll end with a question: I scattered like over nine thousand references in the role names. Can you spot them all? :O

About 10 people used their roles/items on me :O

I thought I was worthless. I'm going to have to watch where I step next game. *gulps*

By the way I accidentally deleted the WW12 and WW13 wolf forums and there's no way to get them back short of rolling the entire forum back, sorry.

But the WW14 wolf forum is intact and you can now find it in Scum Central.
