No, he's right. Role playing just detracts from the goal. If you are town but your character is a jerk or has an attitude you can just blame your words on "I was just role playing". In a game where the words people say are of the utmost importance, role playing for the sake of role playing has no use if you have any desire to hunt scum.

/me goes to take a bath

Alright. Do you have any suspicions at the moment?

This role playing is anti town. I'm going to read you as scum if you are trying to role play.
1. It distracts from scum hunting.
2. You can blame stupid crap you say on role playing.
3. It takes time away from scum hunting.
4. It doesn't do anything productive.

Try me.
For once, I agree with Camo.

Limiting activity is anti-town, Camo, and that's what trying to stop roleplaying would end up doing.
If you signed up to role play, then you picked the wrong game.

If you mind, that vote is invalid
It is ##VERB: name ;)

Also i mend to say ##VERB: CELEVER
Voting is always valid, in this particular game we simply have the option to use other words instead.

"Golly, Camo! I say it's just a bit of fun, yup yup!"
My RP is in speech marks.
1. Not really. It makes no difference whether you make a case in character or not, people should listen to what you have to say either way. There also won't be (m)any posts which are just talking about RP (i.e "haha that sounds so much like x Pokemon!"), so it just adds a little fun element to the game.
2. If you're saying stupid crap the whole game then that's fine because you're in character. Ideally people should take some things seriously, or make it clear when they're role playing (like I am when putting my RP in speech marks) to alleviate the issue.
3. It's not live mafia, so the couple of minutes spent typing up a humorous quip will not detract from scum hunting in the slightest.
4. It makes the posts a little more fluffy I guess, but it also does absolutely no harm. You need to look at what people are saying, not if they're trying to act like a Pokemon or not whilst saying it.

The above also answers @PMJ's post.

*Bidoof raises an eyebrow at Keeper of Night*
"Golly, I've never seen you agree with Camoclone about anything before in my life, so this is weird."

*Bidoof jumps up excitedly*
"Oh, I just remembered something, yup yup! Remember in @Luispipe8's game where @TwistedTurtwig role played as Hagrid the whole time? Golly, that was a lot of fun! Anyway, he was a good town contributor the whole way through and ended up winning the game for everyone, yup yup!"

thegrovylekid: I agree with all of this except the part where you claimed Bidoof. It's day 1. Why did you claim?

@Camoclone, you realize none of your votes are counting, right?

Votes please. The fact that they want to argue about this makes them look scummy.
##UNGNAW: Keeper of Night
##BITE: Camoclone

"Golly, a scum slip so early!"
In the above post, Camoclone says "makes them look scummy" as opposed to "makes them scummy". This is a perfect summary of Camo's scum meta. He's very opportunistic (and he baited me there; I noticed and took it so that a newer player wouldn't make the same mistake and land us in a mislynch) and if a townie has any sort of anti-town comment or looks anti-town in any way he calls them out on it. Usually I don't look into his one liners too much, and I guess that deciding to this time around proved fruitful.

thegrovylekid: Uhh...
"Golly, I sure am bad at anonymous roleplay, yup yup!"
