BW/BW2 What could they possibly do in Generation 5?

I'd love to see a pure Flying type for a change. They could base it of a cloud or something. (Drifblim are Balloons)
Nah don't think it's going to happen.

And it didn't appear for 4 generations, I don't think it will suddenly happen. Flying is the only type which has to be a second type. And Normal/Flying can be mostly classified as ''pure'' Flying. Normal isn't a type with an element so actually it's ''nothing''. I don't want to say it's an useless type, but hard to explain...

Just because they aren't able to think of Pokemon that are Pure Flying types for 4 generations doesn't mean it can't happen. Generally, Flying tends to be paired with types that make it WEAKER (Fire, Normal, Grass, Dragon).

@Pokequaza: Please consider that the only benefit from the added Normal type is Ghost immunity, which will never be useful. And did you forget that Fighting types have less to fear from Flying types as they can mysteriously get in normal damage??

How is ghost immunity never useful? Gengar is still pretty common these days.

I'd like to see a Fossil-type and maybe even a Light-type. The Fossil-type could replace the Rock-type on all of the Fossil Pokemon such as Armaldo, Rampardos, and maybe the other "ancient" Rock-type Pokemon such as Relicanth. Light-type could be a secondary type for Pokemon such as Clefable, Chimecho, and Altaria. They could have resistances to the "better" attacking types such as Dragon so as to balance the metagame. I just want to see more competitively viable Pokemon, not crap like Kriketune.

Which caries T-Bolt anyways so big whoop. Any smart player obviously won't send in Flying types VS Gengar.

A koala pokemon, dog pokemon that actuallly looks like a dog, a possum, and they will make different versions of pokemon that already exist eg a pig that doesnt bounce away every time you want bacon for breakfast.
Yeah, my freinds and I have been talking about how poocheyana and growithe don't really look like dogs. possibly more legendarys?

Because Poochyena is based of a hyena, Growlithe is a dog though...

Male Evo of Combee (Lightning/Bug)
Sea Lamprey (Not sure if Huntail counts)
Banette Evo (Based on the Grim Reaper)
Leech
Falcon
Pegasus
Harpie
Cat-Tail (Plant)
Miner
Spaceship
Ventriloquist

All just different ideas that I have had over the years.

Ghost/Flying didn't appear for four generations, either! Don't say "it took this long and they still didn't do it so it probably won't happen," you never know what could come in the next generation!

I would definitely like to see a pure Flying type, but I'm not sure it'll happen. Flying seems to be more of a sub-type than a main type. I believe that it's not that they haven't thought of a pure Flying-type, it just wouldn't make sense to create one.

I'm all for new evolutions for old Pokemon, but here's a list of non-legendary basics that should never evolve because doing so would completely ruin the Pokemon, turning them from cool designs to horrible disfigured monster from the fiery pits of the underworld (see Lickilicky for more details):

Hitmoneverything
Kangaskhan
Mr. Mime
Tauros
Jynx
Aerodactyl
Snorlax
Sudowoodo
Wobbuffet
Girafarig
Qwilfish
Shuckle
Mantine
Skarmory
Miltank
Sableye & Mawile
Volbeat & Illumise
Zangoose & Seviper
Lunatone & Solrock
Kecleon
Chimecho
Tropius
Absol
And everything from the 4th generation.

Here's a list of Pokemon that could obviously benefit from evolution but will never see one because they're gimmick Pokemon and not meant to evolve so stop asking for evolutions for them:

Unown
Delibird
Smeargle
Plusle
Minun
Spinda
Castform
Luvdisc

And finally, a list of not necessarily Basic Pokemon that I think could benefit from an evolution, mainly because they're already ugly as is and they couldn't get much worse with an evolution. And who knows, they might end up looking cooler after evolving (see Roserade for more details).

Farfetch'd (Him before anyone else)
Ledian
Corsola
Porygon2

NO EVOLVING ANYTHING FROM GEN 4. That's a rule.

Regarding new types: Maybe one more, but it would have to have a Dragon resist. Light type makes the most sense.

Regarding designs: I don't really care as long as they don't end up looking like Lickilicky (who has the stupidest name ever, by the way).

Well maybe, but there are 272 type combinations (255 without Flying as 1st type). Anyway you can't expect to see all combinations in a few generations, right? And a pure Flying type would probably already shown up if it's really possible. But still... to be honest I don't see it happen...

And btw, Lickilicky isn't that bad ;P I must admit, some look ugly, but after a time you get used to them and I got to like them, even Yanmega... Just accept them ;P

Getting used to them doesn't make them any less ugly.

Also, though Fighting/Psychic and Psychic/Fighting are technically two different type combinations, for all intents and purposes they're the same thing.

It would be cool if they changed some of the typings around. Most notably, another resistance to dragon would be nice (such as fire or flying). Steel has an absolutely ridiculous number of resistances, at least make it weak to electric attacks.

After 4 generations of significant game mechanic upgrades, it's pretty difficult to determine what will happen next. My biggest worry is that they will incorporate touch screen mechanics (or something) to certain moves (like rubbing the screen to improve the power of surf), as that would totally ruin competitive play as we know it.

But assuming that Nintendo don't screw it up... maybe move combinations? Like, if you use Ice Beam while it is raining, the weather changes to hail. We already see this to some degree (using defense curl boosts the power of rollout), so maybe Nintendo will play on it a bit more.

EDIT: Nevermind, I thought this thread was for anything to do with gen 5, not just future Pokemon.

EDIT 2: What PMJ Sudowoodo totally deserves an evo >:[

I agree with this and Mr. Mime should get one or a Split evo (Mrs. Mime). Just because it's your favorite Pokemon and you don't want it screwed up doesn't make it totally uncool. :F

dmaster out.

i think they should incorporate more split evolution lines, idk where i'm going with this.

Shhhhh scampy they might here you.

A koala and a wombat. And an otter(There probably is an otter Pokemon, but I want a new one, with more emphasis on the fact it's an otter and how awesome that is. It will be a legendary and the game mascot. It's stats will be toned down to that of a very good OU so I can use it competitively, however there will also be a Broken Orb available for it so I can pwn up with it in games even more than normal. Otters are cool.)

Hmm. Why 4x weakness?
Because most Psuedo-Legendary has one (except for Metagross), Garchomp, Salamence and Dragonite being 4x weak to Ice and Tyranitar being 4x weak to Fighting. Interestingly, they also have an immunity to a type (Garchomp resists electricity, Metagross resists Poison, Dragonite and Salamence resists Ground, Tyranitar resists Psychic).

I was thinking of a Grass/Dragon Psuedo Legendary with Dry Skin.

The reason I don't want Mr. Mime to evolve is because his evolution will look like they tossed Mr. Mime in a meat grinder. It has nothing to do with him being my favorite Pokemon. Of course if they did evolve him I would use him out of principle. Mr. Mime's stats are good enough to be useful (except for his abysmal 40 HP), so evolving him isn't really necessary. A lot of Pokemon on my list of Pokemon that should never evolve have great stats, and evolving them would turn them into complete terrors (i.e. Skarmory, Snorlax, Tauros).

I can't even imagine how a Sudowoodo evolution would look. If it didn't already look good enough as is I would support an evolution more.
