It WILL die in 50 years, I'll bet my money on it. At least not he way we know it. With all the modern technology coming out, Trading card games will be as classic as checkers. The games may survive, but I think that virtual reality might change the gaming industry.

If modern technology is coming, Pokemon can use that too, can't it? Maybe we get robot Pokemon pets :O

The technonlogy for that is decades old. Do you remember those overadvertised robopets a while ago? Just put fabric on it and you have a robot pokemon.

Actually, I think it won't. Mass producing robotics is cheap, and if your pokemon can get programming via internet, you can have a large spectrum of things your pokemon can do, and a fairly cheap price. (30-60$)

That would actually be possible in virtual realistic. Holographic pokemon would be awesome! But I doubt it would happen, as rich as they are, Pokemon isn't big ebough to do that, unless the technology becomes much more available.

Where have you been? Music, food, philosophy, literature. LOTS of stuff lasts, but nothing small like pokemon.

Pokemon has lasted 12 years and in another 38 I can see it staying. The only way it would go belly up is if the fans stopped playing the games and getting the cards and the majority loose intrest. As long as we have fans Pokemon will live. Whoever though of the idea of Pokemon was sweet.

You'll never know until it's 50 years later, no game ever made it to stay popular so long, cuz the whole ''good'' game-industry isn't even 50 years old, well it's actually more than 50 years old if counting the first game-like games, but you know, the first few years are always experimenting and very unknown to lots of people. Anyway look at the Zelda series, their first game appeared in 1986, 23 years ago! Pokemon will be at least able to last it that long...

If it can still be original and also still earns that much money, then it can survive. Problem is that 50 years is a VERY long time from now. Although, I believe it might die out in between subsequent years and will rise again soon enough.

Living Pokemon in 50 years..? No too short time... It would be possible in a few years more but nahh not in 50 years... although the technology is improving fast
