Pokemon Francium, coming to a store near you!

On a far more serious note, the creators might slow down with the new Pokemon.

If you do the math, there's an average of 123.25 new Pokemon every region, which corresponds to every new system.

Game systems generally last 5 years (though Microsoft's apparently trying to make that 15), meaning that in 50 years, we'll probably be on Gen 14. This corresponds to 1725 Pokemon. Stop exaggerating.

Pokemon will survive as long as there are children in the world who play video games, and Game Freak isn't broke.

Also, wasn't there an announcement about more action being proposed for a later generation? That could help it live.
Just imagine 1725 Pokemon :0 That would be awesome... And if you're new to Pokemon it's a good memory-training to remember them all xD and how do you ever want to complete the National Dex?:p

But you calculation isn't right. With an average of 123,25 Pokemon per generation. And at least a generation per console... that means 20 consoles in 50 years so:

20 x 123,25 = 2465 plus the number at the moment (493) = 2958 ;)

It will never die because there an infinite number of animals in the world to model them off.
Uhm... no there isn't an infinite number of animals here on Earth xD

Here's one for the card game-400 HP cards, Wailord's evolved form.
Also Blissey evolving too with 500 HP, that'd be awesome if I'm still playing.
A little bit too overpowered, isn't it? But Blissey evolving? It has already 3 stages. But maybe they make it possible to have 3 stages and a baby evolution at the same time, you know more evolutions, kinda digimon like...

I think once holographic technology comes out and is able to be used by the general populus my god.

imagine walking down the street and seeing a meoth run by. some kid scream Get back here! he presses a button on a pokeball and a wailord comes out, you have a heart attack because you grew up with the pixel verson always wondering what would happen if I dropped a wailord onto a city street. the kid catches the meowth and you die seeing pokemon.. in its final glory.

:D
That's a sad story xD but I don't see why we get hologram Pokemon sometime..

So you're saying that a new system comes every 2.5 years? That's wrong. I used 10 new generations as 10 NON-SOFTWARE UPGRADE (GBA SP, DS Lite, DSi, PSP Slim etc. are software upgrades) would occur within 50 years. The chain is every 5 years.

Therefore, my calculation was the correct one, as Nintendo didn't release a new generation for the DS Lite or the GBA SP.

Woah, stage 3s would be like legendarys, imagine evos of t-tar, metagross, dragonite, salamence, charizard, infernape, empoleon, torterra, typhlosion...!

I don't know how long Pokemon will last? 50 years? :p

Well, maybe they'll actually have living breathing Pokemon by then, lol. I doubt the franchise will exist that long... but if it does, that would be great. :)

Living Pokemon in 50 years..? No too short time... It would be possible in a few years more but nahh not in 50 years... although the technology is improving fast

They say that the 21st century will have as much advance as over 100 20th centuries. Think how much that will be.
I could see real Pokemon. That'd be so cool to have a real Chimchar!
Cool thought, and I bet it could happen, but how would intelligent pokemon feel about being created as a pet?

Considering Pokemon is Nintendo's best selling franchise behind #1 Mario (yes, it's sold more than Zelda, Star Fox, etc.) I seriously doubt it will die out. It will die when Nintendo dies (which obviously won't happen, they are making more money than ever). If anything, the only thing that will remain will be the games but all of the other aspects of the franchise will be absent.
