What do you want from us?

I don't even have that much money to pay you guys. >__>

Anyway, the spelling/grammar hasn't been that bad from what I've seen. Just the recent threads in the News Forum.

dmaster out.

How do you suggest we implement a ladder?

I don't know if we have it or not, but I saw on the gym, that they sometimes have special events or whatever where you win prizes?

Maybe we could hold a TCG/VG tourney or something, and have prizes for the, like, top 4 or something.

Pretty much all of the TPCI staff is on Pokegym so it is more possible for them to do something like that. All the Rules Team are members on the gym. As far as I can recall we don't have any Rules Team members here. We might be able to do prizes, but it probably wouldn't be able to be as big.

This isn't anything big, but I would like to say that it would be very helpful if you could mae the date system for the dates of posts fit in with the timezone of the user.

As I live in the UK, the date here would be 15/5/10, not 5/15/10, because here our dates have the day and the month switched around. This is confusing as when looking at posting dates it would be possible to think that it was posted on the 4th of March, not the 3rd of April. Because of this, I recently reported a post for reviving a dead thread, but later realized that this was not the case. If you could change this according to the timezone of the user that would be very good.

BTW, I also like the sound of the Pokébeach awards.

EDIT: What about a Pokébeach newspaper every month or two, detailing everything that has happened during the month. All the best articles would feature in the newspaper, hopefully inspiring people to start writing articles again. There can be advertisments for threads with in the forum, like a game in the GC or fan fic. It would be kind of similar to the Smog of Smogon.

There is actually a sticky for those "silly people" to post their in-game teams in.

I realize that. My point is that said silly people do not post in that thread.

Then what else is there to fix? The mods already lock the threads and warn the posters.

There's a fellow forum I go to and they have a badge system. Maybe you can try adding that here?
They have badges above your member title and you earn them for, let's say, winning in a drawing compition, awards, etc.

Competitive battling to be competitive then I might actually be more active.

Here's a problem right here... Not enough competitive people are being active. Maybe you could show some people the ropes if you're so good? Write a guide, set up a tournament or something? lol

Also, I'm going to delete and warn for any further posts that aren't constructive or helpful. We are opening our ears to listen to you, we didn't ask for smart remarks. If you have an idea, or some constructive feedback, let us know.

when you click on fourms from the pokebeach main site, please quit making it a popup/new tab. just redirect

I was hoping it would be possible for the screen the pops up when you open the chat room using Java would go away. I realize this is something WPM would have to do, but it is annoying when it says it contains some unsafe components and you have to choose to allow it to run.

This is a problem, we know it is. BUT I have not seen you post in any threads, create any competitive discussion threads, or participate in the PokeBeach Gym Challenge. You did ONE challenge the very first day, if you are going to complain about the forums not being competitive then why NOT be active in one of the competitive events we have going on? I mean part of the problem with the VG section is activity on the part of the users, and actually posting in the few discussion threads that we do have or participation in the events we hold. Hopefully dividing the VG section into Competitive and Casual will help but people need to post. Set an example for new users and actually post to help increase the activity.

Well the reason he doesn't post in them is because its so dead.

But the reason it is so dead is because people don't POST! Weren't you paying attention?

Stop expecting us to be able to do something about YOUR activity, because we can't, simply put. If you WANT the place to be active, stop whining in here and MAKE it active. Seriously.

What about something like a Pokebeach news article? Every week or something, the mods and members helping out with the article just add in things that have been big around the beach lately, top poster, new TCG articles, Redshark news, VG news, things like that. It can keep members informed about what's going on and stuff. Interviews can also be thrown in too.

EDIT: Missed Ice's post. I guess this is more of an agreement post to his. But a week might be too short when I think about it.

I was about to say that ;]

Although one person will get top poster evry time: dmaster.

I think the article thing is a good idea, but the main issue is how much would people actually care about writing it each say month if we went to the trouble of trying to organise it?

Not to put our own members down too much, but if there's one thing I've learned about PokéBeach whilst I've been here, it's that before too long almost ANYTHING you do will slip into obscurity and die out. I've watched a great number of activities designed to better the forum peter out and die because the members themselves just stopped caring for them, no matter what the mods (or other activity runner) did to try and make it more active.

My biggest concern therefore would be that after the first one the members would do the same to this, and it would die like everything else. Of course, I would dearly love you guys to prove me wrong. But until I saw the level of commitment needed I wouldn't be holding my breath. It would be awesome if we had enough staff available to help this run though... in an overviewer role I mean.
