I love the starter designs this Gen. I'm not sure why people are butthurt over them anyways.

But I DO hate the fact that our pig is, yet again, a Fire/Fighting. -_-;

They are really ill designed. Wotter could have easily become a samurai, and its not even fighting type. Smugleaf is ok at the least and porkchops is an epic fail in all ways. Pigs in spandex burn your eyes...maybe thats his power.
Other then that, all the pokemon look great, there is a lot more to come sound awesome to and i think everyone loves those monkeys and their trainers. Those trainers are the best designed trainers in a while.

People accuse things before they have ever tried it.It's pointless to rant on something that is and has yet to be played or even tried.

I found a thread with people praising this without having tried the games as well.

Are they excused?

And personally, tsu3, team plasma, and another battle frontier esq sidequest make me a little depressed but eh, the mole looks so awesome I could care less.

i hate that the fire starter MIGHT be fire/fighting AGAIN! this is the main reason i think those scans were fake. there is no way in hell that game freak would make that mistake AGAIN!
aside from the fact that the final tsutarja evo=edited milotic, final wotter evo=edited dialga, and the final pignite evo=edited rhyperior/magmortar/ganon. if these actually ARE real, then i will not pick pokabu ever, i cant stand it

At least it's not a fugly ape again -_-

I don't see the Rhyperior in poka3 nor the milotic in tsu3. I can easily say Milotic is Dragonair because they're both snakes.

I still don't like tsu3 tho. And GF has been doing this "rinse and repeat" gig since gen3. Version exclusive mascots, evil team wanting to use said mascots to achieve their vision, fire fighters, etc. I think they've slammed into a "comfort cycle".

^they are supposed to be making a fresh start and pushing the envelope, to me that includes not being in the comfort zone and reapeting the now hated by me, fire/fighting

They didn't exactly say it was a fresh start. They said it wasn't going to feel like a pokemon game, which in itself was dumb.

But yeah, GF seems to have this pattern down pat for future generations. Too most though, "third times a charm" :p.

I really didn't want another evil team though.....

^thats why i hope this is a hoax, it hasnt been revealed on pokemon sunday so as far as im concerned, until the games come out, this is a hoax.
i wouldnt hate the fire starter so much if it wasnt fire/fighting again.

I don't like the fact that Tsu3 has no limbs. Yet I'm supposed to overlook that because "ITS A SNAKE OMG!!"

I really could care less. In a fantasy setting, I don't expect anything to make sense. That's not why I pick favorites. I'm not gonna automatically accept it based on logic of the real world, since that would preclude me from liking any pokemon because they can breath fire or shoot bubbles from shoulder cannons that a turtle would never have.

Yea at first we were all going OMG a snake with limbs when we first saw Smugleaf. But its a little weird for us to see its final form without limbs. It's just. Unnatural. Dunno how to describe it.

But that doesn't really mean I hate it or sth. I simply love all of the new stuff Gamefreak has to offer this Gen. It's simply the greatest step forward for this franchise, just like what Gen 3 was.

IMO:

Gen 1 - Ok "the one which started it all", but the environments were kind of meh, but that was mainly due to the graphical limitations of the GB back then.

Gen 2 - Erm, designs were getting better, environments were getting special, but it was kind of short in the sense that Johto was frigging small, and without post-E4 Kanto the game itself wasn't really much of something epic. Hey at least it's in colour this time round (not full-colour yet I dunno why people term Gen 2 as its in full colour)

Gen 3 - Sapphire was my first game ever, and of course I loved it simply. This is what I call full colour. Deserts, City on top of trees, mountains, lava. The plot wasn't that good, but better than catching Pokemon and selling them and taking over Kanto or a few little snobs trying to revive Team Rocket. It was about Land vs Sea now. And not forgetting my dear lil Mudkip. I loved the designs from Hoenn. (like duh) And it had the best music in the franchise (Slateport FTW)

Gen 4 - Ok my friends were going OMG 4th gen but I wasn't really impressed by what Sinnoh offered. Snowy environments, ok, but they were a hassle to travel through. I thoroughly hated Snowpoint for that. But Gastrodon was kind of special (bio lesson lol). Gallade too. Guess that they had to increase the number of usable battle Pokemon cos I ended up using quite a number of pre-Gen 4 peeps. The 3D was meh, except for HGSS, since it was only kind of a little perspective shift here and there, pseudo-3D kind of thing, which didn't really appeal to me cos it wasn't a really big step from Gen 3's graphics. And the music (w/ the exception of some in DPPt and the whole of HGSS) was plain meh and didn't even match up to Gen 3's standards. So I played Diamond for the sake of playing a Gen 4 game. Platinum and SS were better. But the Wifi capabilities were expanded pretty much, so that's something good. And the plot about creating a new universe was better and more complicated in Plat, where Charon's fooling around.

Gen 5 - So far I'm impressed by what Gamefreak had offered. I liked the designs more than the Gen 4 ones, and the graphics were simply mind-blowing. Compare Gen 4 and Gen 5 graphics and you would say that Gen 4 was a total letdown in this aspect, looking at the fact that both are on the DS. Meh-looking perspective shifts VS 3D models of Zekrom and Reshiram + Anime-like cutscenes + real 3D environments + AWESOME SAUCE RED BRIDGE AND SKY ARROW BRIDGE + totally 3D Hiun city where you can walk in a circular manner in this megacity (and by mega it really is mega compared the the ones in the older regions) + Moving battle sprites, improved battle animations (like Zekrom's Cross Thunder and Resh's Cross Fire) and the camera moving about in the battle screen in all directions. And there's still Rotation battles, 3-on-3 battles, C Gear, Dream World and more.

Gen 5 can easily be my fave generation so far, but I'll take Gen 3 as best for now since I haven't played White yet.

1st - Gen 3
2nd - Gen 5
3rd - Gen 2
4th - Gen 1
5th - Gen 4

Yea. Just my own thoughts about this whole franchise.

AND I LOVE POKABU'S FAMILY LINE STOP SAYING IT SUCKS. T.T

There really doesn't seem to be that much "new" in Gen 5. The new triple battles and combo attacks are awesome to the 9th degree, but thats about it.

Hate the last one and i finally found something else to hate! No evolutions midbatttle. Always wanted that but oh well. Bummed that aloe gets normal and that theres no dark gym. But no rock gym kinda evens that out for me. Ill be mad if onokouso evolves directly from kibago (i know they are related). Also mad i havent seen the ice/drg, and drk hydra line. Theres nine dragons so one space for a spot in between kibago.

WOW nobody here seems to like Gen 4 when I personally think they were the best, with the 3D graphics and the amazing, intricately-designed pokemon. I think half of these Gen 5 pokemon being leaked are absolutely ridiculous! What is really selling Black and White for me are the plot elements, the characters, the region, the legendaries, and some of the cooler pokemon like Rankurusu and Gigaiasu.

@swimfastray
You'll get used to them. If you say you hate the game, you just buy it and spend the whole day playing it. (not to you, swimfastray to everyone)

IMO 5th gen looks awesome!!! The graphics, new concepts, and even the Pokemon (bar that ice cream cone thing).

Both of you need to stop arguing and look up the facts. Bet you didnt know how much heat a slug can withstand. Or that pokabu lin is a pig demon from a legend. Cant really make opinions on false facts. Besides, you only see what your accustomed to see. If your obsessed with disney then everything is bambi and the chipmunks. And really? Complaining about a pokeball mushroom when your favorite has a pokeball dude to? You dont know what these pokemon are based on so you cant say they arent original so both of you quit it. And not everyone started with gen1 or required to like them. They started it all? Woopdedoo. Doesnt mtter if someone likes gen3 or 5 or even 4 more.

I like samurtide the most now. Its the only one i want to train and evolve it, because it has katana armor! Porkchops is ok, but very spot on to the legend. Royal snake seems so pompous, i might get it to.
