(1) Burger King Promos [7/6]

I don't eat fast food, so, the most I would do is jut buy the toys there.

The most I would eat there though would be the chicken fries.

Actually, studies have been found that carnivorous (and some omnivorous) animals DO sometimes kill for fun if they are able to have the leisure time and energy to do so. Cats and dogs do this all the time, and you can observe this practically anywhere. Crows often flock together and harass other animals, sometimes lethally. Put big fish in the same tank as little fish, and the big fish will bully the little fish to death. Besides, most kills done by humans are either towards other humans or by negligence/collateral damage. Do you feel sorry for every ant you've inadvertently stepped on on the sidewalk?

Slaughterhouses, contrary to what you might think, usually use the most humane way possible to kill animals; they use ways that end them as quickly as possible and produce little to no pain. Torture by definition would be physically and/or psychologically taxing, of which these methods are neither.
most cats and dogs depend on humans for food so they sometimes kill because it's just an urge they sometimes get because that's what they would do on thier own if they didn't have people feeding them. plus, cats and big dogs were bred to kill. cats kill pests while some of the bogger dogs are guard or fighting dogs. a big fish picking on a little fish? well thats what they do in the ocean because it's just an instinct.
i don't have any idea where you get the humane part of it but if you think that they baby an animal before their death, you are wrong. they could care less about the animals' pain. i've seen reports where pigs were boiled alive and cows hung upside down with a cable while the people just beat it until it starts coughing up blood. the people who at those places don't make sure that every little animal is not suffering or that the methods used are humane. they get bored and think it's funny to beat downed cows or snap the necks of chicken.

It certainly seems like it's been turned into a health related thread. I do eat fast food once in a while, but at the same time, I don't eat it daily. I know not everything there is healthy for you, but eating it on occasion isn't going to kill you. I preordered the set of the toys on ebay, so I don't have to go there during the promotion, even though I may stop by a couple times to get a couple of doubles of the toys. There are other ways to get the toys without going to actually eat there.

Fast food doesn't kill you if you eat it in moderation. I love how some people all of a sudden have turned up there nose at fast food. Like you've never had it before.

Just for the record, my original post about feeling like I had to throw up had to do with how disgustingly cheap the ingredients are and the quality of the food. Anytime I eat fast food, it's usually Jack in the Box, so the food is better quality. :p It's like downgrading to go to BK.

I thought you live in southern California. If so, where are all the In-N-Out Burgers? They should be all over the place. They don't even freeze their meat, though that may be a misnomer considering the USDA now considers meat frozen only if it's less than 28 degrees Fahreinheit (about -2.5 degrees Celcius).

And these cats and dogs kill because humans provide them with the free time available to hunt for fun. You don't see lions or coyotes in the wild hunt for fun in the wild because, for the most part, they must concentrate on survival and nurturing their young. They have very little time for hunting for fun, and the risks upon them are far too great.

Of course some places will have crueler methods. The ways many slaughterhouses do it now are ways recommended by the USDA. There are many smaller places that'll do it the way they want to, and they do it in secret because they know their image would be shot otherwise. There are sadistic humans who will skin a cat alive because they find it fun. I don't like what these people do, but it is certainly wrong in saying that every single meat provider tortures animals. That sounds like propaganda from the PETA.

Also, boiling an animal alive kills it very quickly. Lobsters, for instance, die within three seconds, if I remember correctly.

I would agree. I eat fast food on occasion from most chains that I've been to, but eating a single hamburger isn't going to destroy your life. It sounds like as if some people here are competitive health nuts, trying to go for as long as possible eating only the foods perceived as healthy (though, like with meat products, eating too much vegetables with little else can also kill you).

It's like a lot of people are afraid of the Debu Note. (Sorry, I just had to bring this up, what with all the paranoia here and all.) As a matter of fact, I think I'll go get myself a BK Stacker tomorrow as I haven't had one in over a year.

i'm not saying every meat eater tortures animals. i myself eat chicken and fish. i am against eating mammals because of my own beliefs but i have seen what people torture chickens before their death. people certaintly aren't going to make sure that every little chicken is pampered until its death. sadly, there is no law as to how the animals are treated in slaughterhouses. people who work in slaughterhouses are paid to kill and thats it that's why i am against a lot of meat things.

but lobsters are smaller and built different from things like pigs. pigs actually suffer for a bit before dying.[/quote]

On another note, I have a complete set of the toys and a near-complete set of the cards (just need Pachirisu and Happiny)! :D

I got the Manaphy deck holder, which is good enough. It isn't used to hold a deck though...just dice, coins, and glass beads.

I was at BK on Wednesday and they are reprints for sure. I was hoping the would have them in regular meals but they did not. I did not get any cards however. I waited until Friday and got cards at my local Wal Mart. BK is kind of ripping us off and so is PUSA because all they did was put a D/P stamp on reprinted cards. They should have released promo cards and done that. Not reprints. They must be loosing some money if they are doing this.:)

Imo pizza + Pokemon would be the best combination ever. Who's with me?! XP

That would rock! XP XD

Anyways, I don't know how a Pokemon discussion turned into vegetables, Jack in the Box, lol at their commercials, Albertsons, tacos, ect. I would like a few Manaphy for my deck though. I had 2 kids' meals (Mostly to make up for dinner and breakfast that I skipped) and got a Turtwig and Pachi. Are the BK cards Tourney-Legal? Plus, BK food isn't terrible, then again I haven't had BK food since April, so I'm not a chubba wubba kid (I exercise daily, but I'm forced to by my parents since my sis is a chubba wubba) Hehe, funny.

By the way, the Burger King I went to charged $0.99 for a toy without a BK Kids Meal. I got myself a large BK Stacker combo and went on my way.

I think BK has ok food. But I don't eat their often, I just paid for the toys seperatley, they only cost $1.
Cards I got from their are:
Lucario
Grotle
Pikachu
Shinx
Pachirisu
Chimchar
Manaphy
(I really wanted Monferno from this set!)

You can buy them seperately? That is pretty cool but I still not going for them because I can get them at my local store without a stamp.:)

I went there and bought one toy for the heck of it. I was disappointed. Yeah, big rip off. I got a Pachirisu and it's the same one from the Diamond & Pearl Expansion. All the cards stink since they are all reprints, just with a little stamp on 'em. I think they just wanted to use them to lure new customers in. (ex: little kids...)

Not for me, sorry. Next time you might want to try like McDonalds and do like the little Yu-Gi-Oh! boosters they had with a 20 card set and some mixed in holos. Except Pokemon Instead. And no reprints, and at least some new art.

But my chicken sandwich was good though. Better than the Pachirisu, that tasted terrible.

You don't care about the deck holders or the card holders? That's what the toy is supposed to be, the way I see it. The card inside is a bonus for collectors.

I bought on it doesn't even hold a deck -_- I can't believed they tricked me into that...

hmm never considered that.. thanks ^_^ P.S. I know this is off topic but I love your story!
