(1) HGSS-on Format Confirmed in July [4/25]

RE: (1) Potential HGSS-on Format in July [4/25]

Don't mean to be a grammar nazi but i see this too much in everyone's posts. Probably beneficial for your academic future. "Couldn't have been" "They must have really thought"

But yeah, this definitely puts off a lot of players outside the US who competed with Md-on decks for nats to attend worlds.

I'm just disappointed it couldn't of been Rising Rivals-On, that would've been the better pick for our next season but what's done is done. They must have really thought this was the best decision for the Modified format's next season.

RR-on is terrible. Enough said.

You're still keeping SP into play in the form of techs, and stuff like Arceus would run amock thanks to no Machamp Take Out to counter them.

It's good that we rid the entire format of SPs and Spiritomb because they have overstayed their welcome.

Don't be butt hurt, SPs are NOTHING when they don't have Poke Turns and Cyrus's. Cry for your Machamps this format while you can, for this is the return of the Jedi! [/idiot talk]

I am just really happy that Stormfront is gone... at long last, I can enjoy playing this game again!

RE: (1) Potential HGSS-on Format in July [4/25]

I didn't play through most of this year because the format sucked. I'm not butt-hurt and you are being double standard when you're saying that SF is gone. :/

RE: (1) Potential HGSS-on Format in July [4/25]

Crobat won't be in the format anymore anyway. But keeping a couple of SPs in the game is just stupid even without their precious Toolbox Cards.

If the format is SP and Stormfront, then that rotation is a must and glad it happened.

RR-on is a terrible idea as well.

RE: (1) Potential HGSS-on Format in July [4/25]

I have nothing against SPs, I don't understand what all the big fuss is about. If you get to argue that Machamp is the ultimate savior of the game from those evil, evil SPs. I can say the same about Machamp being a speedo artard who only picks on the weak.

Ask yourself this question, if this format has no SPs in it, would YOU want Machamp in it? And if the answer is yes, you deserve to be put in jail. Sabledonk is just the opportunity that people like me are waiting for!

Whether it is SPs, or Stormfront, I am just glad this is over.

RE: (1) Potential HGSS-on Format in July [4/25]

Sableye was never a problem in any of my local battle Roads. It didn't win any of them in any division iirc.

@DE

Even paired with other stuff? As in all their decks didn't have one of those? wow lol

@Clear
THis is when the real fun begins. Until Catcher comes then there will be another angry mob.

A bit late, but: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3ALwKeSEYs

Still a slower format, when Gothitelle comes out this can go both ways.
Or people can just go for broke and run Vileplume.

Magneboar/Reshiboar is so going rock since it has the draw, power, and the ability to drag all at once.

Also from you:
The only ones who are sad are the ones who are butt-hurt over their SPs and SF cards being rotated. Smarter players already started trading and testing for HGSS-on since the first announcement and will be prepared.

Yep, I already quit playing for a few weeks now until they confirmed it. Now all them boars will jump up 5 dollars in price while I sit pretty with 4. Not to mention all those useful Primes, even Crobat will be worth more now.

You're a little late, Dan. =P

I'm really excited about this news although it does remind me again about Charizard being rotated....Rest in peace my friend.... ;(

RE: (1) Potential HGSS-on Format in July [4/25]

Called it. Ever since they said they would print B/W before worlds I was saying they would Mid-season rotate.

I sooo happy about this. Nationals is going to be a blast! :D

yo, I am stoked about this. I'm a little bummed about BTS leaving but meh, it is what it is. I came into this game with arceus, sabledonk and sp's already in full force. I already got tired of it a few weeks after learning about those kinds of decks. I can't wait for nats now :) gonna be siiiiiick!

also, in response to that debate or whatever it was about machamp sf, I think that kind of thing (take out) would be good in HGSS-on because it would keep the hordes of reshiboar at bay. reshiboar would still be playable because emboar can hold it's own agaisnt machamp sf (I've done it a few times at BR) but yet it would at least make it so that reshiboar isn't the next sableye (in terms of the amount of it being played). could be good for a take out attack to be added to a stage 2 in the next set (or the one after) IMO.

Any responses praising Machamp SF's crusade for "Evil" will be met by severe penalties.

Machamp should not be able to take out any of the following in one-shot, and yet it did, and therefore is a cheater:

- A god (Arceus)
- A Phoenix (Ho-oh), which are immortal
- The incarnation of Yin and Yang
- List goes on.

Though in all seriousness, all Reshi needs is a PlusPower to burn down Machamp anyways, which I shall proceed to do in the near future, in my own private July 1st (Canada Day), barbaque.

Donate your Machamp SF to me people! You can't get more than .50 cents for them anyways!

I must say that since now that it is official, it is very unfair for the Arceus set. Charizard and Arceus decks are great in their own right, and does not deserve to be punished due to the auto-pilotness of Stormfront and SPs to an extent.

^ My states winning deck. O well, recycle the shiny cards into new decks

^LOL.

Why do Seeker, Judge, Rescue Energy, Pokémon Communication, and Junk Arm lose value though? O_e

This is lame. Everybody wanted the rotation because Sabledonk was broken. Sabledonk isn't broken. It's not even remotely close to broken. Sableye itself isn't even remotely close to broken. Now everybody needs to get new cards before Nationals. Money scam? Hmmmmmm...

Seeker loses value partially because the Pixies and Crobats are gone. Harder to seeker-donk. More people buying TR packs?
Rescue loses value due to no BTS. Also no more seekering up a whole line of Gdos or Gengar to drop back down again and attack same turn.
Pokemon comms due to abundance in supply from BW print.
Judge, not too sure but the fact that there is no more shuppet or sabledonk plays a little role? Otherwise just the abundance in supply.
Junk arm, less stuff need scooping up but arguably- better variety of trainer/items to reuse constantly eg. Energy Retrieval, Switch, Poke comms

^Well if you're done with the 3x Pokemon Collector (RH) I could take those off of your hands. =P

I've been planning to have a full reverse holo deck for the last BR, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. ;( I was so close too. :/
