(2) BW8 Scans and Translations, Plasma Storm Cards [12/12]

either way is fine, the only reason why I think they'll go NXD-on is because they rotated out 5 sets last year and NXD was the start of the EX era... :|

They can rotate however many sets they want. When the mid-year rotation happened, they rotated what, 10 sets? I would see DEX on because of the reprints, but Tpci doesnt care about that because they didn't allow CoL-on and that had a lot of reprints.
STOP THINKING SO SOON. We have a year, let's just chill in this cruddy format. (my opinion don't flame)

I'm calling it here! Electrode will get a shiny card in the future sets and I will own it!

NO. Shiny Ditto first.

Most likely. I'm just saying it will get there eventually!

@RogueChomp:

First off they did the mid season rotation because of sabledonk and if you can remember the season before that they didn't have a rotation, so 8-10 sets being rotated was actually called for. Secondly they typically keep it in a range of 4 sets per yer in and out, so if they only rotated 3 sets this season, then it would make sense for them rotating 5 sets last season. Finally although I do agree that this format is kinda cruddy (at least, the first half of the season was/is) I like thinking 5 steps ahead, it's what I do best :p

It can't be BC-on. Shiny Empoleon basically means it has to be at least DEX-on, unless for some reason they reprint the rest of the evolution line for it. I doubt TPCi would allow a Stage 2 to stay in the format if it can't be played.

Edit: Ninja'd by about 5 people

They did have a rotation the year before. Remember GE? And DP? and SW? and MT? Those sets were rotated (See ya Claydol and GG) and it was MD-on.

for some reason this reminds me of some guy who got a shiny zoroark in the NXD pre-releases (there's no zorua in the set :p )

Can someone clarify for me? Does Deoxys' ability exclude ALL Deoxys EX? Or when we get the card, will its ability say "(excluding this pokemon)"? Because that clarification could make or break a deck.

The card says "excluding Deoxys EX"; it doesn't say "excluding this Pokemon".
The Power Connect Ability bonus carries to all Team Plasma Pokemon that are not named "Deoxys EX".

Thanks for the clarification. That's all I was looking for.

My first concern about the expansion is this: how is there NO Swampert? Apparently that makes Swampert the last starter to be released as a card from BW (excluding the HGSS starters), and seeing as it's my favourite starter I was terribly disappointed in TPCi for ignoring it. I hope it will be a Plasma Pokemon in BW9, and it better be better than Blaziken and not worse than Sceptile.

Back to the actual thing, here are actually a lot of playable cards in this set, and those that stand a chance of having real usage are really amazing. My focus is on Latias and Kingdra, for reasons unknown. Plasma decks also got a huge boost with Metagross, Umbreon and Glaceon. Metagross' Ability means that it can stream Plasma Pokemon, which is highly beneficial. However, Plasma Pokemon are usually the final evolution. As for the 2 Eeveelutions, they can support with more HP and lesser/no retreat for the Active. There are more threats in the expansion, and these here aren't the only one.

Dammit, I'm gonna have to wait 3 months. Does TPCi not like Mudkips?

I'm kinda baffled as to why we got the Treecko line in Spiral Force but no Mudkip line in Thunder Knuckle. Apparently, they don't like Mudkips.

And the gen two ones.

I hate to burst your bubble, but they didn't have a rotation for the 2009-2010 season leaving us with a massive card pool. Then two years after in 2011 to make up for it, they had a massive rotation (happening mid-season because of the new rules) Look it up if you want.

2009-2010 was DP-on
2010-2011 was MD-on
spring 2011-summer 2012 was HGSS-on
2012-2013 is BW on
I played GG in 2010.
this is pointless to prove a point

they didn't have a rotation in 09 for the 2009-2010 season (which was my point) have fun reading up on your history.
