3DS Discussion Thread

Ah the last post here is about Skylanders! For some reason I've become very curious about this game. I don't want to be interested in it though because I have seen some of the figures and they look very cool. I must save the contents of my wallet from them!

Anyways, has anyone tried out the Metal Gear Solid demo yet? I thought it was a pretty fun experience. It had its bits of comedy too which I liked. The whole "blend in" thing was kind of annoying as I would have much preferred to just "move around like an idiot", I think that's how the lady put it. During my first run I couldn't aim for the life of me so I pretty much spammed the R button and made Snake do whatever that move was if any. During the second run though I got a better feel for it. After finishing the demo the first time I thought I made a decision to buy this in the later future as I wasn't THAT interested. But now...I'm sort of curious. I think I might go ahead and purchase the game. This'll be my first Metal Gear game so that's cool I guess.

I got Mario Kart 7! Yay! :D In my opinion this is probably the best Mario Kart to date. I will "confirm" this in a few days. :3
Number two would probably be Double Dash. :3

But no VS mode is bad, because you can't race in courses like Alpine Pass without going through the entire Grand Prix first (there is local/online multiplayer as well, but those both have their own problems).

I haven't really played my Mario Kart game alot yet... Everyone's saying it good, but I have way to many games i'm trying to play... Hehe I still haven't beat LoZ:OoT yet.

No, I've always stayed away from games the ESRB thinks I shouldn't play. But how is it? Are you using the Circle Pad Pro?

No, for now I'm just using the buttons. I'm not sure if I should invest in the Circle Pad Pro yet.

I've heard it's pretty much necessary for MGS. After playing both the RE and MGS demos, I would have to agree. Once I buy those games, I'm going to need another Circle pad with them.

dmaster out.

I've got this whole month off. It's either work on my Pokedex in White or buy MGS. I think I should hold off until summer for MGS. I'm already planning on buying Rayman Origins for the 3DS and then Kid Icarus too which releases 3 days later(Semi smart move there Ubisoft, but Rayman is going to fail again). Playing three brand new games in one month seems like a little too much fun.

I just have a quick question: Do Pokemon Black and White versions work on a 3DS? I am thinking of buying Black but I have heard many clashing statements saying that it either does work or it doesn't work, and I don't really want to buy a useless game.

It works but it looks lousy. :/
(Unless you want to play it in mini mode.)

Lousy is rather extreme. Yeah, it doesn't look as good as on a DSi, but if you've never played a particular game on any other system, they look fine, to me at least.

The quality is absolutely horrible on a 3DS compared to any other DS system.

lousy, absolutely horrible? Come on it's not that bad. I would suggest not playing it full screen though, it does look better when you're playing the smaller version.

Maybe that's why I was having so much trouble with MGS demo, since trying to play that without the circle pad thing is nearly impossible.

I agree. It's not that bad. I was shocked at it at first when I saw it on a friends 3DS, but when I got one of my own, it turned out not to be that bad. Of course, you got some color issues, some slightly flickering screens, some color difficulties, and what looks like a movie-screen effect, but other than those, it works like a charm. Hopefully they will work this out in Black 2/White 2. Can't wait to see how that game turns out. I'm pre-ordering it first chance I get. Just 1 of them, though.

If anybody has a Club Nintendo account be sure to hurry and order your free Kid Icarus AR cards. Who knows how much of a supply they have!
