3DS Discussion Thread

They'd really do anything, wouldn't they...
My suggestion is buying Luigi's Mansion. PMD might have great graphics, but people have told me that its story is mediocre and elements such as the personality test have been removed. Overall, not worth it.

Well at least you don't have to keep retaking the test to get a the Pokémon that you want to be.

TPCi and Nintendo are really trying to push people to get the 3DS now. They're hoping releasing this on March 24th, will persuade people to buy Gates to Infinity. Plus, with XY out in 7 months, they want people to start buying the 3DS now.

Yeah, it's interesting that they're pushing this limited edition relatively close to the XY launch. It makes me wonder if we'll get limited edition XY systems, like we did with DP (don't think we got any for BW...).

Just in! Nintendo just announced that if you register a 3DS XL and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates To Infinity or Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon on Club Nintendo between March 21st and April 30th, you will get a code for a free 3DS game on the Nintendo eShop! Only selected games to choose from.

  • A new promotion for buying a 3DS (Europe had a similar one a few months ago): Buy a 3DS XL and Luigi's Mansion or PMD and register them on Club Nintendo between March 21 and April 30 and you'll get a free download of Mario 3D Land, Freakyforms Deluxe, Art Academy, Star Fox, or Professor Layton. Good deal for those wanting to jump in on the 3DS bandwagon now, but the biggest thing of note for me if Professor Layton, and I can probably get it for $20 by the time I actually get around to it. Still holding out for the Pikachu XL!

:p

@Chariblaze Actually, we did get limited edition Black and White systems.

Anyways, the Harmoknight demo came out today. I downloaded it and its pretty fun. It's kind of hard too, but that could just be me failing at rhythm games.

Same lol. For some reason, I just don't click with the Bicycle stage...:F

But the game looks amazing. I'm super wary of the price just because of what the game is and I honestly don't care how long it is but it does look pretty good.

dmaster out.

Huh. Somehow forgot about the HarmoKnight demo. Downloading now! Not going to be able to get the full version for a while, so still being able to play it is neat.

Ketzal's Corridors is also on sale for $5. Pretty nice savings of $2.

So guys, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon from Retail then put on eBay after beating, followed up by digital Pokemon Mystery Dungeon bought Digitally, or some Fire Emblem DLC and Mystery Dungeon on day one? The first option is obviously better technically speaking, but I kind of don't want to flood myself in games -- Still playing Fire Emblem, Awesomenauts, getting Monster Hunter in less than a week, and Mario 3D Land will come free with either of the two games.

If I get Dark Moon it will have to beat quickly in order to retain max value, but then I may not enjoy it that much. I never realized just how much less enjoyable my games were when I just beat then sold them ASAP... Fire Emblem has been the most enjoyable game in a few years just because it's Digital: It's mine, I can't sell it, it's here to keep. Sounds like a negative but it definitely made it funner to me.

Help me decide on my first-world problems! :p

Edit: CONFOUND IT. HarmoKnight is good. ;-; Still not getting it for a while though. Took me seven times to perfect the Bicycle Level, but I don't mind. The remix is so catchy, haha.

Ahhh. You mentioned it already. Nintendo just tweeted about it yesterday. :p

Ohhhhh boy. Remember how I said I perfected the bike level in the HarmoKnight demo?

I didn't know you could charge your weapon for extra notes.

High score is 86 so far, but I'm DETERMINED to get that perfect 90!

It seems Target's weekly ads for March 24th have leaked. It appears the Nintendo 3DS XL will be on sale for $159.99, and the original Nintendo 3DS will be $129.99. This is perfect for the Pikachu Nintendo 3DS XL, which releases on that day! Plus, the promotion Nintendo is doing starting on March 21st to April 30th(Refer two posts above). The Pikachu Nintendo 3DS XL is gonna sell like hot YELLOW cakes! :D

Yep... I want one but I just know the things are going to sell out to the scalpers of eBay before I get the money together. It would take at the very least two months and the things are probably going to be sold out within the first week. Honestly though it looks ugly on the outside and the Pikachu looks uh... Let's not discuss its camera. I just want that beautiful White on the inside of the system. ;-;

Oh well!

Anyone get the Mystery Dungeon demo? I spent two hours on it... And I didn't plan on buying it. Confound it, demo, now I will have to decide on whether to buy it or not again!
I got the demo; I loved the first Mystery Dungeon game. (that was for GBA correct?) Thought I would give the new one a try. I enjoyed most of what I played. I'm glad you can pick off in the retail game where you left off in the demo. The question is will I have the money for this game. I already have money down for Animal Crossing and I have a reservation on Pokemon X. The game does look promising however.

It does look promising. I wish that so many people wouldn't judge the game and it's not even out yet. I know lots of people don't really get into PMD, but it would be something to try out. Get use to the new 3D graphics. It's the same system that XY will be on. Plus, releasing the Pikachu 3DS XL on the same day, may get PMD:GTI more sales. The game actually sold great in Japan within the first two months.

I've still yet to play the demo, but man if that menu jingle didn't get to me... I'm still worried over the changes, but I never once counted it out (all right, maybe a little. but not much!). Just not a day 1 buy, heh.

I am not buying GTI because I hate the english name, and for no other reason.

I need to reserve my copy of Pokemon X though.

I don't get the point of the 3D. All it does it hurt my eyes and drain the battery.

It's useful in puzzles that use the 3D function, like SM3D. Otherwise it gives depth and therefore is useless after the first 5 seconds of it. Edit: Not to mention the 3D of the outer cameras make my eyes bleed.
That Target ad sounds nice, I was already thinking of upgrading to the Pikachu XL.

I do want the Pikachu XL but I have to get a 3DS capture card for my YT channel and those are even more expensive for 3DSXL. The price jump is like $250 to $400. :/
