Ask a Play! Pokémon Question

RE: Ask a simple Play! Pokemon question here!

All I know of for problems was the previous quarter. If you have ones from before that you will need to use the support portal since I'm not sure what they can do about previous ones. Hopefully your League Leader is reporting your attendance at league assuming you've been going. I know I've had to get on some League Leaders in my state since I got a bunch of complaints from players that go to those locations.

RE: Ask a simple Play! Pokemon question here!

I have used the support portal, it took them 2 months to respond and when I asked when I was asking if the late league rewards had anything to do with me not getting anything, they closed my question on me! :headbang

So I don't have a clue if this has been answered already or not, but I'll ask it anyway.

During my quarterly login to the Pokemon OP website (yes, that's pretty much how often I log on to it), I noticed something on my profile regarding settings for something called "Pokemon Social".

What is Pokemon Social and how does it affect me?

RE: Ask a simple Play! Pokemon question here!

Pokemon Social Settings have to do with what you can and can't do on the Pokemon TCGO website. Canned chat is basically a list of preconstructed words and probably sentences as well. Open Chat means you can chat with anyone and not be restricted as to what words you can and can't say although there is some censors and links are blocked. No chat means you can't use the chat on the site. If Friend Mode is set to on, you can send and receive Friend Requests. The primary purpose for this is easy access to trade, chat, and coming soon, battling them. It doesn't display much information and certainly does not display your real name. Shopping Mode options have to do with what you can and can't use for spending in the Shop for the Pokemon TCGO. The various Trade Modes effect who you can trade with.

Why does it show ELO instead of points here:

?

RE: Ask a simple Play! Pokemon question here!

It probably hasn't been fixed yet. I'd recommend opening up a ticket in the support portal and check if it is suppose to display that way or not.

This is the page for cities.

Nothing has been posted. The winner usually gets 16 packs and a medal, plus some extra stuff. 6 Championship points too.

RE: Ask a simple Play! Pokemon question here!

so I'm going to my first PP tourney this weekend and I was wondering do I have to print up the registration sheet at home and fill it out? will they provide one? or will either work?

also idk if this question counts but when I go to the tourney this weekend will Rare candies from the following sets be legal?:

EX Sandstorm
EX Holo Phantoms
Emerald
Great encounters (POP Series 8)

thanks in advance ^^

RE: Ask a simple Play! Pokemon question here!

You can certainly print out a decklist filled out, but I haven't been to a Tournament yet that mandates it. All the ones I've gone too, decklists and pens were provided at the event so you could fill out the list there. I guess it depends on...PTO? lol

All Rare Candies from any set are legal, just be sure to play with the new B/W rules they put in place for it (can't use it on the first turn, only Stage 2s, gotta wait one turn from when you put the Pokemon down, etc.).

dmaster out.

RE: Ask a simple Play! Pokemon question here!

what are play points and how many are given per event?

RE: Ask a simple Play! Pokemon question here!

Play Points are what you get for participating in TCG Events (Cities, States, Regionals, etc. and Leagues).

To my knowledge, there hasn't been anything released to how many you get at each event. I think Battle Roads was one or two? I can't remember for sure. Leagues might be one point per league season. You do need 10 if you want to participate in Nationals this year.

http://www.pokemon.com/us/organized-play/tournaments/ That details Play Points a little more. I guess this is going to officially launch in early 2012.

In addition to that, the organizers at my Regionals said that you got 5 Play!Points for participating at a Regs.

RE: Ask a simple Play! Pokemon question here!

Ok well then yeah. Two Regionals can get you enough points for Nationals. I knew it was high for Regionals..just couldn't remember the number. Anything in early 2012 will be a lot clearer on this hopefully.

RE: Ask a simple Play! Pokemon question here!

So I know that the best finish limit for States and Regionals is four, but I am confused because I heard you can only go to 3 States and 2 Regionals, and I am not sure why because you could go to as many BR's and CC's as you wanted to.

RE: Ask a simple Play! Pokemon question here!

Is there still a prize penalty for showing up late to a match? If not, what is the penalty?

RE: Ask a simple Play! Pokemon question here!

^At the LCQ, they did five minutes is a Game 1 loss, and 10 minutes is a match loss. They didn't do any prize penalties.

I have no idea what they do in other tournaments, but I've only heard about people getting game losses for that, not prize penalties. If I had to guess just based on experience, I'd say if it's five or more minutes, it's a game loss, and less than that it's just an extension. But, I'd probably wait for an official answer on it.

Anyone? Please?

RE: Ask a simple Play! Pokemon question here!
