<Keeper> Hay Celever!
<Celever> Hay Keeper~ ^_^
<Keeper> I think I found a solution to your problem!
<Celever> You mean you found me a manakete friend? :O
<Keeper> Not yet, but I know how we can find at least one and possibly more!
<Celever> Oh? :3
<Keeper> First, you have to accept this.
<Celever> A wedding ring?
<Keeper> Yep! The first step is getting married. Then we can have kids, and those kids will be manaketes!
<Celever> That's such an amazing idea! :D
<Keeper> Even better, we know that Lucina had a bunch of other comrades that came back in time with her. Chances are that our kid will be one of them, so we won't even have to wait until they get old or whatever, we can just find where they came back into our world.
<Celever> Brilliant! You're the best husband ever, Keeper. <3
<Keeper> <3
Keeper of Night and Celever attained Support Level S!
SLowly but surely we made our way north to the country of Valm. Surprisingly enough, we didn't see any sign of DNA's soldiers the entire time, even when we crossed into the original countries borders. Eventually we made our way to the walls of the capital itself, and still no sign of anyone.
<Drohn> This is so weird. You'd think we've had seen some sign of his huge ass army by now.
<Athena> I think they all might have retreated into the castle for a siege.
<Drohn> But still, you'd think we'd have seen some sign by now. I wonder what they're thinking...
Meanwhile, inside Valm Castle...
<Haunted Water> Ahahahahahaha, they're falling to my trap. Do you see them, Excellus?
<Cervantes> *mustache puns*
<HW> Soon, the traitors to the resistance and the remains of Kecleon's forces will show up from behind and slaughter those Ylissean fools. They never stood a chance against my brilliance!
<Cervantes> *more mustache puns*
<HW> Even better, we won't have to lift a single finger! All of the messy fighting and dying will be done outside between those fools and we'll be safe inside.
<Cervantes> *even more mustache puns*
<HW> ... I don't even know why I bother talking to you.
<DNA> Hey, 'sup Cervantes.
<Cervantes> 'Sup Lord DNA.
<DNA> Who is the pinnacle of man, in body, mind, and spirit? Who is greater than the gods?
<Cervantes> You, of course.
<DNA> Well, it doesn't seem to be that obvious to Haunted Water over here.
<HW> Wait, hold up, now! I didn't mean any offense to you, my glorious master.
<DNA> Glory is won on the battlefield! Glory is meeting your enemy's eyes and watching the hope drain away with his life... Glory is not won holed up in a castle with plots and cowardly schemes. And I'll be dead before I let some dynast farm lord take today's glory in my stead. *leaves to prepare for battle*
<Cervantes> Ahahahahaha, pwned. *follows DNA*
<HW> :| Well, you guys charge ahead into messy battles, I'll just stay in here where it's safe... >_>
Before Drohn and I could storm the capital's gates, they opened before us, issuing a huge stream of soldiers with DNA himself at their head. He was dressed in bright red armor with horns on his helmet and rode a huge, magnificent horse.
<DNA> You do your sister's legacy proud, Prince! But humanity already has a savior. A conqueror who broke stronger men than you when they refused to bow. Warriors of Valm! Ride with me now! Together we still stamp out this final pack of insurgents and unite the world!
And then battle was joined. Drohn, Lucina, Cinesra, Light, and I took the center, while I sent Celever, Keeper, TT, and Palutena to hold the right flank and PMJ and Drac to hold the left. We took shelter where we could find it in trees and small forts, as the ranks of DNA's smashed themselves against us in a full-out offensive. A particularly large building dominated the center of the battlefield and I sent Drohn and Lucina around to the right while Cinesra, Light and I took the left, cautiously working forward. Once the Valm soldiers were thinned out enough, Drohn and I went forward together to challenge DNA himself.
<DNA> I don't know why you bother resisting, but at least you came to fight me yourself like a man.
<Drohn> You don't know why I'm resisting you? Honestly? You're slaughtering hundreds and thousands of people and trying to conquer everything you can get your greedy hands on. That's like the exact opposite of peace.
<DNA> I would end the reign of the gods, and you object on moral grounds?! Blood is spilled in any new birth, Prince. And in many a just cause, as you know...
<Drohn> There is no cause that excuses the crap you're doing, none. You've broken so many laws that my head spins just thinking about.
<DNA> Look at you! Are you not ashamed? Your mind is filled with nothing but secondhand beliefs. You dance upon the stage of your gods like a mindless puppet! THAT is what I reject: being a slave to tradition, to obligation. The old ways. Damn the gods! Damn their fates and their destinies! I will have true freedom! And man who offers less is my enemy.
<Drohn> Look, stop with the evil villain monologues already, okay? I'm not really sure if I believe in destiny either, but I do believe in justice, and my sword in your gut is the only justice I'm looking for now.
<DNA> Ha ha ha! Better, Prince. Much better! Be not an agent of someone else's justice, but justice itself! Now, let us fight as two great men, freed of their gods.
Before Drohn could react, DNA rushed forward with a jab of his sword, but I managed to nudge him out of the side just in time. Both Drohn and I retaliated with sword and magic alike, but DNA was a mighty foe and refused to go down easily. Just when it looked like we had the upper hand, his remaining soldiers barged in and they made their escape back into the capital, slamming the gates shut behind them.
<Porygon> Dammit! You were so close. :\
<Drohn> Man, his soldiers are incredibly loyal.
<IE> Uh, dad? You might want to turn around....
<Drohn> Ohshi- where did those guys come from?
<Porygon> It's the remains of the resistance and the rest of my brother's army...
<Athena> But look! They're green, not red! That means they're allies!
<Drohn> Well, I'll be. Looks like they turned to our side for sure.
<Porygon> ... my brother... they must have found out about Kecleon and his sacrifice...
<Camo> Well, whatever the reason, I'm damn glad they're here.
<Drohn> Me too, this means we can leave them in charge of the siege of the capital for a bit while we go complete some sidequests.
<Porygon> ... wait, what? You would leave us?
<Drohn> Just for a bit. We've been piling up sidequests left and right, but now seems like a good time to take a break from this war and do some traveling. Celever, you said you were planning on having dragon babies soon. IE, did you have any manakete comrades back in the future?
<IE> Yeah, Celever's daughter was a part of our group. Actually, all of your guys had kids that I hang out with.
<Drohn> Well, that's our first step then. Camo, Porygon, can I leave you guys in charge of the siege while we're gone?
<Porygon> I know these people and Camo knows war. So, I guess we should be fine.
<Drohn> Excellent! See you soon~
