RE: Writer's Lounge

I have. Is there something you need help on it?

RE: Writer's Lounge

Honors doesn't have near the same materail!

4 weeks of strait writing, giving pass/fail grades, isn't regular 8th grade material for my school! two book reports in one term, on within 2 weeks of the other...

E.G.
Rural report due Oct. 10
Tony Hillerman due Oct. 14

That isn't normal material if you ask me...

@Apollo, I think Zy just burned you down to the core....
XD

RE: Writer's Lounge

I log on and I see about 10 posts of Apollo's sentence being roasted. This is brilliant.

From what I've heard, honors classes are on a separate tier than normal classes, but realistically, I think it's just the same material, just tackled differently (and more fully).

I wouldn't know - I was not in public school most of my life.

RE: Writer's Lounge

UMMMMM! DNA, public schools have honors classes...

Anyways, I now have about 30 essays in my binder, taking up almost half of my binder, I have had to get another one, just for math...

Honors isn't really the same material, it is kinda tackled harder, but in a lot more depth. I know the regular classes are talking about story telling, and we just finished our test on writing. They never took that...

But Apollo getting busted for bad Grammar is
GOLD!

RE: Writer's Lounge

I don't ever recall saying his sentence had bad grammar. I thought it was just fine. What I found funny is that there were about 10 posts trying to fix an already fine sentence.

And I know public schools have honors classes. I'm just repeating only what I've heard about them.

Just know that next time you post any updates to Protection (or any new works, for that matter), I'll be scrutinizing every last detail! Who's got the last laugh now?

RE: Writer's Lounge

Me! Cuase I'll have my English teacher get to it before you...

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

@DNA...

I never took honors courses, so I have no idea what they were like myself. Classmates I knew who did, said that they were about the same as the regular classes, but covered advanced material in-depth more.

It's a double negative, and It looks really bad...

Gives Apollo, and DNA an F, for bad grammar, and threatening to scrutinize me, and DNA for not noticing simple grammar mistakes!

Now who is laughing?

RE: Writer's Lounge

I won't...

o_O

OMG it is right... It just looks wrong at first glance...

:(

OK.. Who deleted the post...
:(

RE: Writer's Lounge

"Did said" is incorrect. "Did", being a helping verb, takes the tense of whatever is needed. Anything that follows should be in the present term.

Also, Apollo, cool off. Hashing someone by attacking their lack of experience is a low shot, no matter how annoying he was to you. If he's wrong, just correct him.

RE: Writer's Lounge

I'm sorry, then. But if you're going to correct me in the future, don't make fun of me because of the fact I make a small mistake. I take it very offensively when it seems like people are badgering me time and again over a simple matter that should be overlooked.

Also, "did" was actually a reference to those who took honors classes, as in "those who did (take honors courses) said".

RE: Writer's Lounge

/me facepaws

Pfft, I don't know how to read English.

RE: Writer's Lounge

Neither can I... I didn't see that comma...

*FACEPALMS EVEN HARDER*

Oh and Apollo, your fine, I don't really care about my experience, I have been writing since first grade, which makes me at almost 8 years...

RE: Writer's Lounge

...I think it's a good point to move on from this topic, don't you?

RE: Writer's Lounge

The contest has started for anyone who wants to enter. It was ready to go the other day, but hidden to make sure it didn't start before midweek as promised.

RE: Writer's Lounge

I've actually been writing a lot in between classes now. Whenever I finish the book I'm reading I'll just take out a sheet of paper and start working more on my book. I'm re-vamping the first chapter I have, adding in a lot more details. As it is now it's like 8 pages...but that should easily double.

RE: Writer's Lounge

I think writing during classes is pretty much the time when I can write the most. |3

RE: Writer's Lounge

Most of my writing is done during the early morning or late evening. I used to write between classes when still in school, but I don't have that same liberty anymore during breaks at work. Oddly enough, though, I do tend to get enthusiastic about writing stuff while I'm working...

RE: Writer's Lounge

I am capable of writing only very rarely - usually about every week or so - and even then I write at such a glacial pace that it's a wonder that I ever finished anything. Sometimes I do write during class, though, because most of my classes are very, very easy.

RE: Writer's Lounge

Well, sign-ups for the Round-Robin contest are done, and I'm working on my entry. The haiku contest is still open, though.

Anyways, anyone going to have updates or new fics coming up soon? Just wondering so I can keep an eye out for them. I plan on getting to DNA's fic soon, but I'm not sure when.
