Espeon w/ leftovers. Ability= Synchronize:
--Calm mind
--Substitute
--Baton pass
--Psychic
I'm using "EspyJump". Look it up.
thats cool and all, but not really necessary for in game

Togekiss w/ sharp beak. Ability= Serene Grace:
--Roost
--Air slash
--Aura sphere
--Fly/What else would work here?!
if it has serene grace, air slash works well, thunder wave would make him even more annoying.

Meganium w/ miracle seed. Ability= Overgrow:
--Earthquake
--Seed bomb
--Swords dance
--Synthesis
swords dance doesnt really work on meganium since its attack stats are pretty mixed. try reflect or light screen, depending on what your team is weak to.

Typhlosion w/ charcoal. Ability= Blaze:
--Blast burn
--Earthquake
--Thunderpunch/Swagger [hint:please tell me which one I should use :3]
--Focus blast
so this is a mixed attacker? Id use thunderpunch.

Raichu w/ magnet. Ability= Static:
--Volt tackle
--Present/ Thunder [Give me your opinion]
--Focus blast
--Toxic
another mixed attacker? I really don't see the point of present

Furret w/ silk scarf. Ability= Run away (useless, I know :( )
--Hyper voice
--Surf
--Charge beam
--Blizzard
Id switch this out with a bulky water type. a lapras with ice beam and surf for STAB and maybe psychic would work wonders. you could even give him rest and hed be an awesome semi defensive addition to this team, trust me.
Btw, this is SoulSilver only :)

Thanks for your insight :)))))))

RE: In-game Team Rates

@Tyrant Tyranitar, you do not need 3 Ice Type moves on Suicune, especially since 2 of them are pretty much worthless once you get to the E4. I'd recommend switching Ice Fang to Calm Mind, Aurora Beam to Shadow Ball, and Water Pulse to Surf. Suicune isn't an Ice type, it does not need NeverMeltIce. I'd give it Choice Specs (can be found at Lake of Rage) to boost its SpA. This is a much more diverse movepool, and it means bulky Steels won't block the Ice type moves.

RE: In-game Team Rates

{L} Electivire (lv. 67) w/Leftovers
Ability: Motor Drive

Thunderbolt
Earthquake
Fire Punch

{C} Dragonite (lv. 67) w/ Persim Berry
Ability: Inner Focus

Ability: Intimidate
Quirky Nature

Ice Fang
Outrage
Thunder
Waterfall

{F}{D} Tyranitar (lv. 66) w/Quick Claw
Ability: Sand Stream[/b]
Naughty Nature

Stone Edge
Crunch
Earthquake
Avalanche

------------------------
Electivire is my usual lead; he has a 156 speed stat (second-highest on my team behing Typhlosion's 197), and has super-effective attacks against 13 different types (also has a 89-game win streak in the Battle Hall). Dragonite, though, has been leading in the Battle Frontier recently with the 2nd highest defense on my team (176-five points below Tyranitar's 181) and effective attacks against five different types and his Outrage attack (coupled with the Persim Berry to prevent confusion) can usually decimate a 3-Pokemon team after three turns.

I also know that my team is lacking in defensive moves besides Typhlosion's Toxic and Kingdra's attack--my Pokemon teams usually focus on high-powered attacks and quick defeats, although this is my lowest-defensed team out of all my games, as well as the slowest.

If anyone would be replaced right now it'd be Kingdra first and then probably Typhlosion...

Also, this is my usual 3-Pokemon team

1. {C} Dragonite w/Persim Berry
dragonite.png

Ability: Inner Focus

Attacks:
Thunderbolt
Outrage
Flamethrower
Fly

2. {L} Electivire w/Leftovers
electivire.png

Ability: Motor Drive

Attacks:
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Earthquake
Fire Punch

3. {F}{D} Tyranitar w/Quick Claw
tyranitar.png

Ability: Sand Stream

Attacks:
Stone Edge
Crunch
Earthquake
Avalanche

-------------------
-Dragonite usually starts as he is immune to ground-type attacks and only faces one weakness (ice). He has the second-highest defense of the three and when his health hits low-yellow or red, I usually use Outrage which would normally take out one or two Pokemon. If I have to use it early, Dragonite has his Persim Berry, which will allow me to use Outrage twice without suffering consequences.

-Electivire is next most of the time. He has super-effective attacks against 13 different types and has a high special attack and very high attack stat, as well as decent speed.

-Tyranitar is the finisher, I usually use him against normal-types if Dragonite can't handle them, and he can also take on flying and dragon types with Avalanche. He has the strongest moves on my 3 and 6-man roster, and Sand Stream usually deals extra damage to non-ground types.

Thanks! But, where should i train? It is getting harder and harder to level up at Victory Road.

The thing about the Generation II games as well as HeartGold/SoulSilver... the game will NOT prepare you for the Elite Four or the Kanto gym leaders if you go through it even at a normal pace. The key to having Pokemon even slightly ready for the Elite Four is taking it very slow and having your Pokemon above gym leader/trainer levels before you get to the Elite Four--or you're gonna walk in there with a Quilava like I did on my Gold version.

Obviously since it's too late, I'ma just have to say that Victory Road and the Elite Four are your best bets right now, especially since you can't get into Mt. Silver yet =\

See if you can get some extra Exp. Shares

RE: In-game Team Rates

Well apparantly this team isn't good enough to go in RMT so I have to put it here.

This team was first used as my game playthrough team. I beat the Elite Four with the first four pokemon, and the other two were aquired after. I may substitute the last two for pokemon from a couple of my side teams; Team Mega and B Team. None of my pokemon have EV training. Why? Because I recently just found out how to EV train so basically my team was used as my playthrough team, therefore I used vitamins on them not knowing the consequences making it too late for me to EV train them. However, if added, the members from Team Mega and B Team are still EV trainable. Now once you read their information, you may be surprised what they are capable of even though they haven't been EV'd yet. Now you will notice that I DO NOT use ubers or legendaries. Now I don't have really a problem with Ubers so much such as Wobbufet or Wynaut, but Legendaries and other Ubers are pretty cheap and lame to use.

So Here is a first glance at my original team:
160.png
034.png
197.png
038.png
292.png
227.png

And now for the breakdown:
160.png

Feraligatr @ Mystic Water
Level 73 Modest Nature; HP:233, Attack:162, Defense:167, Sp. Attack:173, Sp. Defense:150, Speed:151
Ability: Torrent
-Cut
-Ice Fang
-Crunch
-Surf
Feraligatr is usually my main I send out first in battle. His cut is unused most of the time because I just use that for the main world. Now Feraligatr can handle himself fairly well and can do well against his weaknesses. Ice fang works especially well on grass types and those hard-to-beat dragon types. It has the possibility to freeze OR make the foe flinch, giving you a high chance of messing up your foe's next turn. Crunch works well against ghost and psychic types, as well as possibly lowering their Defense. Now Feraligatr's specialty is Surf. Because of his high Special Attack he can put enemies who aren't even weak against it in the red. So usually when I battle an Electric type I can use surf and either knock them out or put them in low health. And if it's super effective against any pokemon Feraligatr goes up against you know it will take them out with one hit. Because of Torrent the Surf becomes stronger in a pinch, along with mystic water making it an incredibly powerful move.

034.png

Nidoking @ Soft Sand
Level 70 Modest; HP:207, Attack:162, Defense:123, Sp. Atk:171, Sp. Def:116, Speed:157
Rivalry
-Earth Power
-Thunder
-Earthquake
-Rock Climb
Nidoking is definately my favorite on the team. Due to his nature he has incredible Special Attack. His speed is also very fast for the big guy he is. You'd think that he would be alot slower, but that's not the case at all. Now Earth Power is generally the best move to go with because it has a power of 90 with an accuracy of 100. Generally it works better than Earthquake which has a power of 100 and accuracy of 100 because Earth power is a Special Attack while Earthquake is a physical attack, thus making it stronger most of the time. But if I'm ever up against an Alakazam for example, I would go with Earthquake because his defense would be lower than his Special Defense. Now Nidoking definately makes up for his problems being a ground type. For one, he can get those water types with thunder proving that he can stand up to his weakness and second, he can also strike those flying types with thunder. Normally he wouldn't get them with Earth Power or Earthquake but with thunder he can knock them right out of the sky.

197.png

Umbreon @ King's Rock
Level 62 Modest; HP:205, Attack:90, Defense:174, Sp. Attack:116, Sp. Def:177, Speed:121
Synchronize
-Hidden Power: Ice
-Payback
-Faint Attack
-Dark Pulse
Considering Umbreon's fairly low Attack and Special Attack make it hard to fully utilitize, but its high Defense and Special Defense definately make up for it as well as the ability Synchronize which may cause paralysis, burn, or poison the foe if done so to Umbreon. Being how hidden power is ice definately makes it great for the team because there is only one other pokemon who knows an ice move; Feraligatr. This makes Umbreon useful against dragon types and especially helpful on dragon/flying types such as Dragonite or Salamance or even the dragon/ground Garchomp. Payback is an excellent move in combination with Umbreon's high Defense and Special Defense because payback doesn't work on how much damage you recieve, just so long as you recieve some damage at all, doubling its power up to 100, and with Umbreon's Dark type matchup, increasing it even further. Also being how Umbreon isn't necessarily that quick it actually helps out Umbreon when it comes to this move. Faint attack is an excellent move when up against someone who uses accuracy stat-reducing moves. Generally when battling, people ban the use of accuracy-enhancing moves due to standard rules. However, there is no rule against accuracy-reducing moves because you are doing it to only one of their pokemon instead of increasing yours which would in essence be the same as doing it to all of their pokemon. Now my favorite move of Umbreon's is Dark Pulse because for one, he has a higher Special Attack than Attack and two, it may cause flinching which when combined with King's Rock increases the possibility of them flinching. Now Umbreon is my buffer for the team. He may not always take out an opponent but he can usually get their HP down pretty low wheras the rest of my team may get themselves knocked out by that one pokemon. However with the propper use of my techniques I have taught him he is definately capable of taking out one or two of the other team's pokemon. Being how he holds the ability Synchronize I may replace on of the moves with Facade. I always go with an Eevee evolution when playing a pokemon game because you can always count on them.

038.png

Ninetales @ Charcoal
Level 59 Hasty; HP:168, Attack:123, Defense:99, Sp. Atk:124, Sp. Def:133, Speed:171
Flash Fire
-Payback
-Fire Blast
-Quick Attack
-Flamethrower
Ninetales here is a great reliable pokemon. She has fairly good Special Attack and Attack, and even better Special Defense, but where she truely shines is her Speed. Whenever someone switches their pokemon out because their HP gets too low, or if they just manage to barely beat another pokemon I know I can count on Ninetales to finish the job. Whether I know that I can beat them with sheer Speed and decide to cook them, or if I'm a bit unsure who's faster I can use quick attack. Ninetales also makes use of the possibility of facing a faster opponent with Payback. With just my Ninetales in a battle one time, we were both level 100 (capped) against a Charizard. Now he was faster but I used Fireblast, 3 Paybacks, and a Quick Attack and took out a fully EV'd Charizard. Now her actual Fire moves are wonderful. I have Fire Blast for when I need to bring down a foe's health, and then I have Flamethrower for when I know I don't need quite as much power, but I don't want to take the risk of Fire Blast missing (or wastefully use up a precious PP)

292.png

Shedinja @ Muscle Band
Level 54 Mild; HP:1, Attack:123, Defense:61, Sp. Atk:64, Sp. Def:45, Speed:63
Wonder Guard
-Screech
-Shadow Claw
-Fury Cutter
-Swagger
Now Shedinja is definately one of the hardest pokemon to properly use. I find him best used against an opponent who has only one or two pokemon left that can do absolutely nothing against him. He is good to secure those battles. He really isn't the best for battling actual people because they generally just switch their pokemon out when they see a Shedinja come out. Which can work to my advantage too being how Swagger is the first move I will use when he faces someone. So if they change to say Magmortar I already chose Swagger to use so Magmortar comes out, gets confused and depending whether or not I want to press my luck (usually not) I can choose to either switch him out, or use another Swagger or use Screech. I have been thinking of possibly replacing Muscle Band with a Focus Band or Sash so I may be more inclined to press my luck being how he will be able to take a hit, or even for those surprises you don't expect like when someone has their Ampharos use Fire Punch. The only stats that matter for Shedinja in my case are his Attack and Speed. Now if I has another pokemon with Substitute and Baton Pass then his Defense and Special Defense would matter more. But I don't have those. So they don't matter. So Shedinja can definately be useful for certain circumstances, but it isn't that often. His redeeming qualities are obviously Wonder Guard when someone can't do anything about it, and his decent attack. Shadow Claw itself has a high critical-hit ratio so that mixes well with his Attack along with Fury Cutter as long as he can survive that long and land enough hits. They are both part of his type so he recieves STAB from it. Now one trick that definately will kill him is if he gets poisoned. There is no way around that one unless I give him a berry to counter it, but I think a Focus item would be more useful.

227.png

Skarmory @ Leftovers
Level 51 Timid; HP:145, Attack:98, Defense:159, Sp. Atk:63, Sp. Def:94, Speed:114
Keen Eye
-Flash
-Fly
-Roost
-Steel Wing
Skarmory definately is useful being of the Steel type. Steel resists many attacks and being Steel/Flying the Ground type cannot harm it. Now her Defense is a great aspect of her, but what do I make of the rest of the stats? Well The Defense alone is usually enough to keep her in a battle. But combined with her movest makes her a formidable for. I generally use Flash only once, maybe twice to keep from being a cheap battler, but if I must and she is my last pokemon or I only have one left, don't expect me to be merciful with it. If I have her use Fly then there goes a miss on your turn, which could've possibly been a hit even though I used Flash on you, there is always the chance of you hitting. So best not take it. Roost is wonderful because once her health starts getting low, I can just bring it right back up. Steel Wing is another wonderful move as it has the chance to raise her Defense even higher. So as you see even though she has pretty low Attack and Special Attack (which I wouln't need because she just uses physical) her Defense and Moveset make up for it. Her Speed isn't too shabby either.

Now that is my MAIN ORIGINAL TEAM. But I have been thinking about replacing Shedinja and Skarmory. With who? Well replace Shedinja with Yanmega of Team Mega and Skarmory with Togekiss of B Team. So here is a breakdown of them:

469.png

Yanmega @ Bright Powder
Level 33 Modest; HP:107, Attack:60, Defense:63, Sp. Atk:97, Sp. Def:48, Speed:74
Speed Boost
-Ancient Power
-Silver Wind
-Uproar
-Double Team
Now I have only used Yanmega once in battle but I found out exactly how much pottential he has. The level was set to 100 so obviously his stats were raised. Now you wouldn't believe it unless you saw it so luckily I have a video saved which if you don't believe me you can see for yourself haha. So here is how it went... The battle started, I sent out Yanmega, opponent sent out Torterra. Now I think it only took 2 Silver Winds to knock out Torterra because I think the second was a critical hit. Then they sent out Charizard which he took out with one Ancient Power. Next up was Dragonite which I believe took he 3 Ancient Powers. Still going well thanks to the Speed Boost which helped knock out Charizard and the Bright Powder made Dragonite's Fire Punch miss both times. Really where Yanmega got caught next was against a Spiritomb who drained my PP of Ancient Power and Silver Wind, as well as used Will-o-Wisp. But for a non-EV'd Yanmega to take out those three pokemon... I knew that I really needed to consider making him a part of my main. He has great Special Attack, great Speed, especially with Speed Boost, and then having Ancient Power and Silver Wind give him 10 opportunites to raise his every Stat; 16 if I use PP Up on them. Now as far as Uproar and Double Team, I will replace those once he gains some levels, but Uproar for now isn't too bad in itself incase I come across someone who tries using Rest. Double Team however, can't be used for competitive battles so that needs to be replaced.

469.png

Togekiss @ Leftovers
Level 20 Adament; HP:70, Attack:33, Defense:43, Sp. Atk:50, Sp. Def:53, Speed:39
Serene Grace
-Fly
-Charm
-Extrasensory
-Silver Wind
Togekiss was a pokemon I used alongside Yanmega when I used him. When Yanmega couldn't finish Spiritomb Togekiss did the job. Although he wasn't able to last long due to being Will-o-Wisp'ed he definately proved he can battle. To start off, Fly is just great if I ever need to get out of a solarbeam or something like that. Even better if it's used and I dodge a Hyper Beam or another two-part attack. Now Charm is great just to lower a foe's attack. Depending on what attacks they use then it could be very helpful and turn a battle around. Extrasensory is a fairly powerful psychic attack which will work well against Fighting types (not that Fly wouldn't help) Also with Serene Grace the chance of the foe flinching is even greater. Now here's the best move probably. Silver Wind. With Serene Grace, Togekiss has a greater chance of every one of his stats raising. That's awesome. Now The Attack of Togekiss is the lowest, but his Attack and Special Attack are pretty good, and his Defense is alright too. So he can withstand attacks, as well as dish some out.

If you think I should replace Shedinja or Skarmory tell me which one (or both) and why

RE: In-game Team Rates

^Switch Fury Cutter for X-Scissor, it is tons more powerful and it means that if people know your strategy you don't have to go to Shadow Claw, which ruins the continued power of Fury Cutter.
